Here’s a Fun Fact for You
The horsepower is a unit of measurement of power. The term was adopted by James Watt, who is best known for his non-relation to Houston Texans defensive end, JJ Watt.
I don’t know why i didn’t think of this before, but if they make the blade just a bit longer than that it can break the speed of sound and they can call it the sonic blender.
OK maybe I’ve been spoiled by my ~10 year old ninja pod… But how does one little blade at the bottom work better than 3 spread throughout the canister? Like, I honestly don’t understand how that is supposed to work. Anyone love this and want to try to talk me into it?
@Jamileigh17 like every other blender the blade shape creates a vortex that pulls things down into it. But I also have a couple woot era ninjas I barely use.
@Jamileigh17 i don’t want to talk you into anything, but most blenders besides Ninja just have the blades at the bottom. They are designed to draw the ingredients through the blades so you don’t have blades up in your container. Vitamix and Blendtec are this way. I don’t think I’d put gowiseusa in the same tier as any of those.
It’s probably just a different design philosophy. I don’t have a Ninja so I can’t compare, but i bet some youtuber has.
@awk I don’t know, I have a $10 “personal” blender that appeared from meh or sister site (I suspect as part of a mystery box, but stuff from the mediocre empire just seems to show up). It’s lasted really well, mostly because I have yet to get it out of the box.
@therealjrn Sometimes crap needs blending. As Joan Rivers asked, “Corn? When the hell did I eat corn?” Do you want to use your kitchen blender for that?
@narfcake marketing is never accurate. They will always use the peak/highest “power” possible to make themselves sound better even if it will never hit that in practice. Assuming they even bother to stick to an appearance of credibility.
But I don’t even have one horse to drive my blender. He’d probably clobber it anyway
@narfcake No, no, no,no, no!!! Horsepower is a unit of power. Watt is a unit of electricity consumed. A really inefficient motor could suck down a megawatt and not produce a single horsepower.
Beware the brown grease mentioned and in the submitted pictures in the (more credible) Amazon reviews. Fakespot gave the reviews in Meh’s link a “F”. Run away!
@Bumplepimp Looks like my family’s first blender. All the same little buttons, but my cheapskate parents didn’t splurge for the big orange button or the dial. Dials rule!
We laughed at the word “Frappé.” My guess is the average American family circa 1970 had no idea what that was. Now you get them at McDonald’s (more or less).
Gimme VitaMix or gimme death.
Seriously, VitaMix is the only blender you’ll ever need. Who care about dishwasher safe? A VitaMix goes for a spin with a little hot water and soap and its clean.
I just want to appreciate the fact that y’all kept it together when mentioning Nut Butter. I am also disappointed that there were no jokes about Nut Butter. No, the semi-pulverized nuts bit does not count.
I’ve had one of these for about a year. It’s a beast. I have the one with the presets. They are mostly useless. If I were buying again, I’d get the one with the dial.
Was gonna go for it, then I saw in the reviews that no part of the blender is dishwasher safe according to a 3* review. That’s a pretty big deal breaker.
I’ve had the same GE cheapo blender for over a decade…more even? I dunno. Blenders seem to never die so I never have to buy Meh-deal blenders. Even as beefy as this one looks. It reminds me of my Starbucks days.
@goldnectar A decade ago you could buy stuff that will last more than a couple of years. Nowadays everything is made to crap out so you have replace them.
At Amazon the digital one is only $5 more. I don’t so much think you guys are greedy for pushing the digital so hard as that you really hate dials! Erm, wait – no, it’s greed.

Horsepower?
/image dodge demon
@jsh139 Sure - it’s like if you take a big bucket of fruit and have 2 horses stomp around in it for a bit. That’s what these do.
I have mixed feelings about these…
@davidwr99 I saw what you did.
If they’d have made the blade like an inch longer it might spin at 500 mph! What a fascinating unimportant number that would be!
I don’t know why i didn’t think of this before, but if they make the blade just a bit longer than that it can break the speed of sound and they can call it the sonic blender.
GoWise USA.
Where are they made?
@Comedian China I would bet, no way actually made in USA, not at these prices (and with a brand name like that).
Not sure if I would like to give this a whirl?
@spectra242 spin spin sugar
@spectra242 did you just reply to yourself?
@spectra242 25,000 rpm will make you dizzy
@spectra242 it’s not dishwasher safe. Plus the plastic pitcher means it’s prolly not wise to blend hot liquids in it.
@Gypsigirl213 Yeah, what is with all the products this week that can’t handle hot liquids? Meh, if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!
Awesome deal but i have the high end Ninja already ty team Meh.

/giphy blender
/giphy horsepower
Not sure how those go together.
@mehcuda67 Came for the Bass-O-Matic, leaving satisfied.
I can’t believe a $40 1450W blender is going to last more than a week.
@awk I don’t know, I have a $10 “personal” blender that appeared from meh or sister site (I suspect as part of a mystery box, but stuff from the mediocre empire just seems to show up). It’s lasted really well, mostly because I have yet to get it out of the box.
@awk Don’t worry; meh will have some other piece of crap blender next week.
@ergomeh Meh has a sister? Can I meet her?
@awk @ThunderChicken I didn’t know they made blenders just for your pieces of crap. Talk about your uni-taskers.
@therealjrn Sometimes crap needs blending. As Joan Rivers asked, “Corn? When the hell did I eat corn?” Do you want to use your kitchen blender for that?
@ThunderChicken You really don’t want to, she just takes your money in the Morning. Save yourself the agony.
OH MY GOD THEY… PUT GLEN NEXT TO A BENDER FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER!!!
For whatever reason, @alacrity has not been by yet, but I would put my money on this making decent margaritas.
Edit: I spoke mere moments too soon.
these’ll make margaritas.
@alacrity speak of the devil!
Not intended for use in pillow fights.
1 HP = 746 watts, so at 1,450w, it’s not quite 2.0 HP.
OTOH, this is closer to the truth versus a Blendtec, which at 1,560w, is marketed as 3.0 HP.
@narfcake @unksol See also ‘PMPO’ - any numbers you can’t easily disprove at home are fair game. Marketing!
@narfcake No, no, no,no, no!!! Horsepower is a unit of power. Watt is a unit of electricity consumed. A really inefficient motor could suck down a megawatt and not produce a single horsepower.
@narfcake I don’t see watt all the fuss is about.
@ellett @narfcake I def don’t want to see this blender consume a horse. That would be traumatizing
Awesome deal but i have the high end Ninja already ty team Meh.
You can say that again.
No washing it in the dishwasher.
No glass pitcher.
No blending hot liquids.
No thanks.
Beware the brown grease mentioned and in the submitted pictures in the (more credible) Amazon reviews. Fakespot gave the reviews in Meh’s link a “F”. Run away!
@Bumplepimp I still have this one around somewhere!
@Bumplepimp A Walling Blendah!
A great gift for that blended family in your neighborhood… of course it’s almost Halloween so… mixed messages.
Gimme VitaMix or gimme death.
Seriously, VitaMix is the only blender you’ll ever need. Who care about dishwasher safe? A VitaMix goes for a spin with a little hot water and soap and its clean.
@allergycheryl Blendtec gets the gold. Vitamix gets the silver. This POS doesn’t even make it onto the track.
what is this, the effing cooking channel now?
@fastharrydotcom I picked the wrong week to give up woot.com.
when this baby hits 88 mph you’re gonna see some serious shit…
@fastharrydotcom though you do need that 1.21 gigawatts, so…
@fastharrydotcom @ybmuG
@fastharrydotcom You need the digital display version for that. Pony up that extra ten bucks!
yes…but will it blend?
@fastharrydotcom My VitaMix could make a smoothie out of this blender.
I just want to appreciate the fact that y’all kept it together when mentioning Nut Butter. I am also disappointed that there were no jokes about Nut Butter. No, the semi-pulverized nuts bit does not count.

@goldnectar A decade ago you could buy stuff that will last more than a couple of years. Nowadays everything is made to crap out so you have replace them.
@goldnectar @Gypsigirl213 a decade ago was only 2009. I think you mean several decades ago
@goldnectar @Gypsigirl213 @unksol Back in MY day, decades used to last longer too!
@goldnectar @therealjrn @unksol You’re so right. It way longer ago than that. Ugh. I’m at that age where the decades run together.
High speed blender?! Redundant, maybe? Have you ever seen a low speed blender? That’s because if it’s not high speed, it wouldn’t blend!
@ellett So why have all mine had “Lo” buttons?
How lazy is that last picture
At Amazon the digital one is only $5 more. I don’t so much think you guys are greedy for pushing the digital so hard as that you really hate dials! Erm, wait – no, it’s greed.
The real question of this sale… Analog or Digital?
