GoPro Hero3+ Black vs. Hero4 Silver: Opinions please
0I JUST received my Hero3+ Black. I haven't even flown it yet. But...
I have some points in a "rewards" program that are about to expire. I have just enough points to get a Hero4 Silver. As far as I can tell, the H3+ Black and H4 Silver are pretty similar, except the H4 Silver has a touch screen LCD. And maybe a couple more pro-tune features?
I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have much trouble selling on the H3+ Black for what I paid, so that's not really a consideration. The real question is whether the H4 Silver really brings anything new to the game vs. the H3+ Black.
Anyone have a H4 Silver?

I'd say order it and do back to back flights shooting the same video and see which one looks nicer. Better yet would be if you could have them both mounted shooting together....hmm 3d video recording? I have a mount that was designed for my gopro plus a Qunos light that would probably hold both cameras at the same time.
@DJMajickMan Ever see one of these? It's a tandem mount for GoPro cameras with a recording synchro process used for 3D videography.
@ruouttaurmind yes but I've only ever had the one GoPro. And does that work between generations? I would think it would be the same connector but recording qualities would have to match as well as dimensions of the cameras.
@DJMajickMan When I first got interested in 3D photography and videography (about three years ago maybe?) it was compatible only with the H2. Now they're saying H3+ Black only. But I suspect the system would work with any Hero that matches the H3 size format. EDIT: but as you mention, would likely require they both be the same model.
I believe the silver does 4k at 30fps while the 3+ black does 4k@15fps.
yup. Here's more info:

@garyhgaryh 4K/30 would actually be useful! 15FPS is really more of a novelty than a useful frame rate.
