Goat Day 23: Goat's Day Out
3Hi folks, happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? My weekend was OK. I just spent some time out with my best friend making new friends. Perhaps you saw a clip this weekend?
My friend and I love to make new friends out in the neighborhood.
ODDS AND ENDS
I really wanted to do it this weekend, but I just didn't have the energy nor the care to do a little spring cleaning at my house. I sat down, had the TV on, thinking "Oh, I can clean with the TV on in the background..." Nope. Procrastination got me. Procrastination is the worst, especially if you have a comfy couch and you just want to veg instead of doing anything that might have positive benefits later on. Hell, I still have to paint. I HATE painting.
Is there anything better than having lunch delivered to a random meeting at work and having the leftovers? They say "There is no such thing as a free lunch..." I disagree.
I'm by no means a hardcore gamer... But I'm so looking forward to the release of Batman: Arkham Knight. I've played the other 3 Arkham games and I love them.
Here's the latest cinematic trailer for the game...
Here's a gameplay trailer that was just released today. I mean, YEAH!
Who else is with me? This game is going to rock... Although it just got pushed back to June 23rd. Ugh.
TODAY'S DEAL
Radar detectors. I believe the sale of these in NY is now illegal. Not that it really matters nowadays. I used to be a speed demon on the road, but now, I'm happy going the speed limit or even 5 miles over the speed limit. Unless you're driving erratically, you're not getting pulled over for 5 miles over unless you're dealing with an especially ornery officer.
TODAY'S QUESTION
What have you put off that you really should have done by now?
Until tomorrow, BLEAT!

I've put off shirt organizing; it's been a mess over the past year. Grouped by artists as much as possible, wear shirts should be in front half of the shelf, preservation copies in back, and "care less" shirts separated out completely.
I should really have my car registered in Texas by now, I've been putting it off forever. I've been here for over a year but if anyone asks I just brought my car here from California like a week ago.
@JonT For as much as it cost you in CA, you are right to want to keep it! Texas is super simple for registration however...you don't even have to transfer the title from CA. Get an inspection, go to the county office (Little Elm is awesome for this) and you are done!
@tightwad good to know, thanks! I did the inspection of the weekend so I'm happy to know the rest won't be too painful.
I dunno about sale in NY, but you're allowed to use 'em provided you're not driving a commercial vehicle of a certain weight
That next beer.
Grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, paying a traffic fine, fixing my account with Atmos, contacting my friend about taking over an old client, unpacking boxes in the garage, unpacking boxes in what was supposed to be the home office, cleaning the cat litter up from the other room that we used to keep the cat box in, cutting vegetables for lunch, brushing the animals, calling my siblings, walking either dog, dusting, cleaning the bathrooms, mopping, fixing the towel rack, getting a passport, updating the address on my driver's license, going to the dentist, getting new glasses...
... just off the top of my head. There are more on my list at home.
@katylava I like your to-do chart, I might steal that.
@JonT pro tip: you either need to get the post-its that say "super sticky" or use magnets
@katylava I like to write or type my todo list. It is fun to scribble them out when I get them done. I group mine by errands, home and work then put some easy, medium and long term projects on the list. I do get more done when I make a good list. A really comprehensive list is a good procrastination device in itself!
@katylava Great project list in the background there. I am impressed. You are way way more organized than I am. In fact, people never mention the word organized and my name together, ever.
@katylava Heading anywhere exciting with your upcoming passport?
@katylava The underlying question being, "So, just what ARE you doing with your time?".
By the way, I haven't seen a bad picture of you yet. Contrary to your opinion, I know.
@Pavlov being tired, usually. Either going to bed early or sitting on the couch playing games. There's another list of things I actually do get done (in the morning), but it's much shorter.
@katylava but is it kanban
@Lotsofgoats Yes. I just started using Kanban for work (with Trello) a few weeks ago, and at home (with the whiteboard and post-its) this weekend.
@katylava Can you tell me more about your Trello setup? I have one setup, but it doesn't get a whole lot of use currently. Thanks!
@dashcloud my lists are, in order: Templates, Backlog, This Week, Doing, Limbo, Done. I use the comments for notes that I can reference later, or for brainstorming. I also attach any files I need to work or did work with. I create a new Done list every week, and change the old ones to something like "Done 031615-032215". Currently I just keep those all on the end, but eventually I'll start archiving them. I have to occasionally reference something from a couple weeks back, so it's just handy to keep those visible for a while. If I just needed a list of stuff to do, Trello would be overkill, but I also need an archive of stuff I did.
