@Shrdlu - I did the same, except my sky is not so dark. Must be a good display because I did see a few, only one was really bright.
Would have loved a lounge chair in a big field in the country.
Good night!
The moon didn’t set until 1:41am and the sky is partly cloudy. Not to mention I’m currently staying in a city that has confirmed zika cases. I think I’ll go to bed.
The kids and I went out around 1:00 am and watched for a few minutes. It had actually cleared up enough that we were able to see a few meteors. Then I felt a piece of wet grass sticking to the side of my foot (I was wearing flip flops). I kept trying to shake it off and finally turned my phone’s flashlight on so I could see what I was doing. A slug had crawled up the side of my shoe and was on my foot. Nope. Nope. Nope. After that it was time to go in and wash my foot and shoe.
@compunaut I’m not scared of them. I actually think they’re pretty cool and would never intentionally hurt one, I just don’t want one crawling up my leg.
Drove up to Artist’s Point on Mount Baker last night. Clear sky, no obstructions, mountainous skyline. Pretty nice. Got home about 5:30 AM, napped, went to work.
@dashcloud Multiple issues on PC (unplayable really, until they issue a hotfix), gets very repetitive and even monotonous on PS4, I give the game 5/10 but if not for the procedural generation I’d rate it a 3.
Ty. But light pollution. Would have to drive for an hour or so.
@f00l
@thismyusername
In the past, I’ve often made the drive out to nowhere. During various comets, my “posse” went out about once a week. I like the drive.
But tonite is Phelps and Biles on the tube, and 108F daytime (admit wusshood) and still 96F. Enuf. Next year.
Moon sets around 1:30 tonight. Trying to decide whether to stay up.
@MrsPavlov I’m a sucker for most songs about becoming a Rocker.
@MrsPavlov I always cry at the end.
From the post by @wew over in the product thread, nasa has a stream going as well.

I would love to, had plans to go to dark skies to watch tonight…but the lightning and flooding rain storms that keep passing by kinda ruined that.
Okay, I went outside, and I looked at the dark sky, and I saw some. Can I go to bed and sleep now? Tired.

@Shrdlu /me grumbles. I knew I shoulda gone and delivered you a “new” TV!

See that giant green streak there in the middle? Yeah.

/giphy This is why I don’t go outside
@PurplePawprints You’re frightened of a slug? A creature that can be defeated by a single grain of salt

Now, I understand I can watch this all on my phone. Dark room and all that, if you want atmosphere.
No “it’s too hot”, no slugs, no mosquitos, no storms, no annoying neighbors.
What is the reason to go outside, again?
@f00l outside is where the Earth keeps all its stuff.
@carl669
Ok. Gotcha. Thx. I remember now.
Went way out into the desert late at night. Didn’t see any meteors, but there sure were plenty of shooting stars. Also took a cool picture.
@Starblind what settings did you use? it is cool!
@Starblind if only No Man’s Sky looked even half as good.
@MrsPavlov Disappointment has set in already?

@MrsPavlov
I hate that everything is sucking so badly. Any help for it? If not, there’s vodka…
Totally overcast in NYC. No point in driving to the beach to see it.
was cloudy here last night, trying again tonight though
Cloud cover at present. Cooler, tho. Hmmmm. Wait up till moonset at 2:30am if clouds scoot? Undecided.
