So, one knife, twelve saws, and a block. And I save another $28 by not needing to buy any of that. But for somebody who likes that kind of thing and needs cutting implements, it’s a decent deal.
@dtwsportsfan I still have (and use) my original Ginsu set from 1983-ish. A few pieces got stolen by roommates over the years, but the ones I have left are still sharp!

Sorry I’m a bit late to this party, but didn’t wan’t to leave without sharing this gem of Canadian television from nearly 30 years ago:
(I always think of this sketch whenever I hear “Ginsu” mentioned, but the 1989 made me think about trying to find and share it.)
Amazon mentions ‘stainless steel’, but not much detail on the knife materials beyond that. Fairly safe to say that this is a ‘you get what you pay for’ but $28 is better than $50! (Not that I need these)
I got some of these bulk-pack with black handles in an IRK. Just 6 steak knives and separately one of the long serrated ones looks good for bread or ham kind-of-thing. Maybe worth what I paid for the IRK which was a few bucks. If you don’t have any steak knives, these would be better than that. If you want to serve your gourmet steaks, and impress your friends or yourself, NO don’t pick these. Get something like the Shun which are not serrated at all. But if you are really hungry, yes, these will cut.

According to the reviews, they’re not dishwasher safe. They’ll rust after the first wash. Hand wash and dry immediately.
I still have my Ginsu from 1989, still cuts like a gem.
@dtwsportsfan Those are probably higher quality than these, and glad they’ve lasted you!
@dtwsportsfan I use my old school Ginsu to slice My Chrismas Ham.
@Nate311 same here + Easter, and Costco chickens.

I prefer the ceramic ones with plastic guards. They fit easily into a drawer instead of this towering block.
If I wanted something that big, it would have to be eye-catching.

Nothing serrated?
@Bigbearballs Only one of these is not serrated; the rest are.

They sold these on the last IRK for $ 50 but bought them on Amazon for $ 28. Still pretty good deal even if they are Red.
