Last weekend? The home is clean, all three plumbing leaks are fixed, the dishwasher is working again, we had guests over one of the nights, and I worked overtime the other so I could have the third off and make it a 4 day weekend. This weekend? I'm going camping.
Got most of a short fence installed. Had to hold off on hanging the gate because the rain showed up.
On another note, have you ever had the annoyance of everything being nice and level, then an hour later, NOT being level anymore? Add that to ground that has a slight unevenness to it and you have the most mildly frustrating thing that happened today. Aside from me not getting my hands the hell out of the way of the post pounder in time.
I have to clean up a bit so the cable guy doesn't get lost when he's fixing my internet. Also have to drive all the way to Orlando so I can administer to a change over in my rental property.
Finished installing and painting the door and floor trim in the bathroom. Wired an outlet for/behind the TV. Rebuilt the front entry step. Lined the inside of the dishwasher door with sound deadener. Reorganized the shed and hung up the bikes for the first in... ever.
@eVil what did you use for sound deadener? I moved from a townhome with a washer and dryer in unit to an apartment without. But the next move in december will be a smarter one, as far as the washer/dryer is concerned. Found that its something that i just cant live without. I miss those 5 min wrinkle release sessions are not something to be taken for granted. :)
@bigbo2003 USEAL Waterproof Repair Tape. It's meant for roofing repair, or sealing of vent flanges. It's very similar to the stuff they sell for cars with big audio systems, like Dynamat. The USeal stuff is about a tenth the price, although it's not quite as thick, so maybe not quite as effective. I will say it's not night and day as my dishwasher is rediculously loud, but it made enough of a difference to call it a good use of money and time. $16.45 at my Home Depot for a 25' roll. HTH. :)
@eVil Awesome! I certianly appreciate it. For the price, sounds like you cant go wrong. Shit, double it up if the price is that much of a difference! Thanks again!
A wise man once said to never to a job yourself that can kill you. Unfortunately it always seems that any job can kill me so the most work I do on the house is to write big checks.
@wisenekt yeah. We finally got someone to take a look at the roof leak that started in the Memorial Day Deluge. Gonna be $4-5k to fix it right, or $1k to fix one problem and wait and see if that is the source of the leak. Either way, no vacations for me in 2015 and probably 2016+. I suppose I can use my PTO to replace the sodden drywall once the leak is fixed. At least that's a job I don't have to worry about falling off a second story roof. :-/
Where is the "I have the itch but had to downsize to an apartment for now so I'm shit out of luck" I did however plant green beans, peas and tomatoes on the balcony. Does that count as gardening?
I need to put more paint on the cornhole boards so we can start using them. But I hate painting so I'll probably keep putting it off until it's too cold and dark to use them.
I'm planting a rhododendron bush in the fill- dirt/gravel/clay in my yard. Dig an inch, lie on the floor for ten minutes. Maybe it will be done by dark.
I'm not doing it, neither is my husband, we doled out some cash to a few unsuspecting victims and now they have to tackle the massive jungle that has grown in our yard.

@eVil Sweet. Thanks for the idea.

Have MANY things in the yard that need attending to, but too hot to work outside for more than a few minutes at time. Yesterday it was 107°.
@lordbowen That's not too hot to drink beer in the shade.
Was going to start a little garden on my balcony but it started drizzling out of nowhere. It was in the low 80's all day.
I mean I did the dishes and a no-drier load of laundry, if that counts. Oh, and I made a martini.
@brhfl Making a quality Martini is no joke. I'd call that a successful day. ;)

@wisenekt I'm totally with you on this one. It's always cheaper to pay someone else than to do it yourself.
@wisenekt I need help so bad, but I can only write kinda not so big checks. So I am feeling one of the no no's of the 10 commandments, envy.

@wisenekt For me, that includes vacuuming.

This is Stag Party Weekend!! No housework! Woot woot
are you kidding? SCOTUS ruling and pride make this a "why did I even have time to check meh" weekend.
I'm relaxing this weekend. Going to basic training come Monday.
@Zippper1234 I wish you strength and good luck.
Remember, the days are long, but the weeks go by quickly.
Nice to hear of others getting lots done too. I'm so tired of, and from, doing home improvement stuff.

Weekend? Why didn't anybody tell me we were having a weekend? Wasn't there one of those last year?
@gertiestn
Portland, Oregon is kinda warm this weekend. Though last night was the Naked Bike Ride.
