GBoard: Google for your iPhone
3Been playing with this for a little while now and thought I should share. GBoard gives you swipe typing and Google powers in your iOS keyboard. Instant access to emojis, gifs (though not for here, it copies the whole gif and not the URL) and all kinds of Google search powers.
I'm in it just for swipe action, which I always miss when using iPhone. But it's altogether pretty neat. Check it out if you use the fruit phone!

Sounds really cool!
BUT... Does it require you to enable the "Allow Full Access" option in order to work?
Because if so, then I'm out. The big G already sees enough of what I'm up to - I don't need them adding my keyboarding to the secret profile they've got built to target ads at me (and who knows what else, today, and down the road).
I actually purchased Swype for iPhone (which works even without the Allow Full Access) when it first launched, specifically because I wanted the swipe typing and didn't want my data inhaled into a third party cloud.
I have a separate Gif keyboard that I allow access for, but it is not a typing keyboard, so I'm not that concerned with what they would be keeping track of: I almost always just use it to send the adorable baby super excited about the birthday present:
Please do let me know if this Google one works without the access, and if only parts of it work, which parts... Then I can be as excited as that baby!
@curtise I don't know if it requires it, but it did ask for it and I enabled it. They do pinky swear not to send your typing to themselves, only your search requests. Here is an article by someone who did in depth testing of what Gboard actually transmits: http://www.macworld.com/article/3070767/ios/googles-gboard-doesnt-send-your-keystrokes-but-it-does-leak-chicken-and-noodles.html
Gboard updated today and now includes the ability to move your cursor through text by sliding left or right on the space bar.
