We just bought our house last year so this was the first year we've been able to plant a real garden. Our garden is in a frame sitting on top of the ground (I did remove the sod first) filled with garden soil. Its not that much work and we have way more food than we can eat. I've left vegies for the neighbors and brought them into work throughout the summer.
I started adding up what i spent making our garden box and stopped; it might break even in 10-20 years... Its organic and for fun, its organic and for fun, its organic and for fun, its organic and for fun.......
@Ryaneil wow. Mine is only 16" deep and just has regular old screws in it. It was maybe $150 bucks and took about 2 hours. If you wanna get full use outta that thing plant some sweet potatoes. They might start to reach that depth. But you'll never ever ever make your money back on sweet potatoes.
@pooflady@bluedyn@RedHot@Ryaneil I mehffed up and made the most irrelevant thread ever and you still carried it through....yall are amehzing...and @JonT didn't want to make me look dumb so he humored us all....meh month is mehde...kthxbai
Wut?
This morning was a bit of a 'garden swap' in my office. Tomatoes, garlic, cucumbers, and green beans. Mmmmm.
@Mavyn click that pic link at the bottom..no coupons necessary
@Mavyn nvm...it was an ad...I thought it was pic of the day elbows of steel style for all to see...but it changes...mindblown
@escowhat Aha...I run adblock.
If you are of a gardening inclination, Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor's Porch Day is tomorrow.
Hope some of my gardening neighbors know about that. I'd take some.
Son and I canned 14 quarts of tomatoes the other day from our garden. Correction: husband's garden. Except for canning, I just eat them every day.

Thanks for the praises. Maybe in 30 years I can retire and sell them road side.
@Ryaneil I'll give you tree fiddy and a speaker dock for it.
@JonT You give him a dollar, he's gonna assume you got more!
@JonT
@JonT SOLD! I'll build a new one with the speaker dock built in! Then I won't have to talk to my plants anymore.
@Ryaneil I'd buy one. Will you be throwing in a goat for free to weed the thing ? ;-)
@ceagee I'd be thrilled to through in @marklog
