Hey Meh, I have no idea what happens next in this story. Which is why your feedback helps! Let me know what you think should happen next, or if this whole thing sucks and we should start over.

It’s in the broadcast. If you don’t like zombies then that’s fine but if you like to read a good story from a Mehcitizen then I implore you to please give it a try. @llander is crafting his story from comments from us. If it’s not to your liking then just exit out but if you find out that you like it then comment about what you like and/or where you want it to go.
Pretty Please.
@Thumperchick Well you guys already had the idea to send melted candy corn… cuz that’s what I got, too. Who sends breakable/meltable candy in a clothing mailer anyways? Fūlish.
@Kerig3 Heh. Nah, I never worked at woot, just hung out there a lot. I think you’re thinking of ThunderThighs (she goes by @del here and pops in once in a great while.)
@cengland0 I bought them back then at this price point. They had actually been here a couple weeks before and I hesitated, but when I saw them again, I bought them. They arrived just before we went on a trip so I’m okay with the extra $8 rather than
In my experience, the soft sided luggage soaks up the abuse and the hard sided gets mangled. The luggage I mean. If you have something other than clothes in your luggage(I normally do not, Ipad and what not stays with me), that might fare better in a hard sided case.
@bleedmichigan I bought a set a month ago. Just used the mid sized piece for a five day trip to the Northeast. Plenty of room and they wheel around real easily. Seem to hold up well… no issues. So far happy with purchase… but again… I just used it for the first time.
That said, do any previous buyers have input on how sturdy these are? As a reference point, my family breaks Samsonites. (Sorry gorilla, you’re doing it wrong)
@nightscotsman FALSE! I had a hard-sided luggage set with a zipper between the two halves. (clam shell, if you like) It certainly did a better job protecting my crap than a soft sided set I had previously. The down side is that the hard sides take a beating and will eventually crack because they don’t “squish” like soft sides. Because the soft sided bags squish, your contents are more likely to be squished and broken. One thing I did to make sure the two halves of the hard sided bag lined-up properly (and to prevent stress on the zipper) was to put a luggage strap around it.
One thing I didn’t about the hard sides is there were no external pockets. Soft sided bags have extra zipper pockets on the outside to help with organization and easy access to things.
As pointed out by others, one could pretty easily argue soft-sided luggage is more durable because it simply absorbs impacts and can somewhat conform to less-than-ideal situations (AKA, when the handler kicks it through a narrow door, it will compress and go through, whereas the hard-sided item will just take the impact and eventually fail). You can also squeeze your carry-on into smaller overhead bins.
It also depends on whether you just put clothes in your luggage or also include sensitive devices that can’t take impacts or or compression. I pretty much only put clothes in my checked bags, so I don’t care if they get compressed or get hit by the corner of a baggage cart.
I upgraded from a decade-old Samsonite set that still looked decent to an OGIO set last year, and I’ve been very pleased. So many useful compartments, very durable nylon, rollerblade wheels. I’ll take them any day over cheapo hard-sided pieces with casters that look like they’ll only last a few trips.
meh should pay a staffer or two to take a vacation using this luggage set. Do a little video with before and after footage of the luggage along with a review from the staffer/s. Make sure they have a layover and switch planes to maximize the amount of handling by the airlines!
(or send me a free set and I’ll use 'em for our trip next year and report back)
@narfcake the meh trip is renting space on a cargo plane, staying in a fridge box, and eating from the fanny pack they bought of WOOT a couple years ago that recently got stuffed with some slightly melted candy corn and a pineapple cup. Mehcations like none other, but hey they are cheap and your likely to only have one or two problems flying in a refurbished dog crate on a second rate Russian cargo plane.
I’ll let you know how mine do in the next few days, heading down to the Miami area to help with housing inspections/trying to get people some grant money via Uncle Sam. ( it will be too late for people on this round of luggage purchasing but maybe OK for the next round ). I’ll report back my findings in a few days when I get a few spare minutes…

@WTFsunshine They are totally there… now.
@Thumperchick Thanks…You complete me! Or I could go with
/youtube You are the wind beneath my wings
I see $228.99 historically on Amazon?
@mrkenneth that was an amazing sale and yet meh’s price is still better!
I could use these to vacate Florida to get out of the path of the hurricane. Think they would arrive by Monday?
Ful me every night…
What, they’re not filled with melted candy corn?
@Kerig3 are you giving us ideas? Because that’s how you get ideas… and candy corn.
@Thumperchick Well you guys already had the idea to send melted candy corn… cuz that’s what I got, too. Who sends breakable/meltable candy in a clothing mailer anyways? Fūlish.
@Thumperchick You can’t fill the cases with candy corn if we don’t order them.
Well, you could, but that would be really gross for buyers of them the next time you deal them out.
@Thumperchick Don’t forget to hide a knife in there so TSA can take them in the back room and beat them senseless with rubber hoses.
@Thumperchick Nope, no ideas here. Not a single idea ever in my tiny meat computer.
On a side note; Didn’t you use to work at that other place, rhymes with Groot? I must have missed the memo, so welcome.
FUL of melted candy corn?
@Kerig3 Heh. Nah, I never worked at woot, just hung out there a lot. I think you’re thinking of ThunderThighs (she goes by @del here and pops in once in a great while.)
@Thumperchick Oooooooh you’re right!
I feel very FULlish.
These were $128 when sold on 7/28/2017 last time on Meh.
You can FUL me once, but FUL me twice – not a chance.
@cengland0 I bought them back then at this price point. They had actually been here a couple weeks before and I hesitated, but when I saw them again, I bought them. They arrived just before we went on a trip so I’m okay with the extra $8 rather than
Ful me once, shame on you; Ful me twice, shame on me. Not sure what happens when there’s a Ful me thrice option, like this deal.
@heartny I think it’s called politics.
In my experience, the soft sided luggage soaks up the abuse and the hard sided gets mangled. The luggage I mean. If you have something other than clothes in your luggage(I normally do not, Ipad and what not stays with me), that might fare better in a hard sided case.
@ponagathos Most crew who put luggage in see hard sided luggage as a challenge.
Attn: @f00l -
They’re selling personalized luggage just for you!
There must be some obligation on your part . . . ?
I don’t like my FUL backpack. If you bought these, are they any good?
Meh packing and leaving with such FULish deals?
Luggage comes with candy corn?
These are perfect for the in-laws.
Chainsaw & tarp not included.
I was almost on board with these until I saw the name. Really? You’re not gonna make a ful outta me.
Who got these last time and did they survive round trip? We still need new ones.
Will they float? (Asking a friend who lives in Miami)
@Brasssong didn’t see any floating in houston - a friend from houston
@Brasssong
/giphy everything floats
Has anyone seen reviews for these anywhere?
My wife has wanted new hard-sided luggage for a while now so I hope these aren’t terrible!
a ful and his money…well, you know the old saying…
A FUL and MY money are going to STAY parted.
Where are the reviews? Anyone know if these are crap or just meh? Second question if these were on the Titanic would DiCraprio have survived.
@bleedmichigan I bought a set a month ago. Just used the mid sized piece for a five day trip to the Northeast. Plenty of room and they wheel around real easily. Seem to hold up well… no issues. So far happy with purchase… but again… I just used it for the first time.
Do the three pieces nest together for storage?
@PhiTauBill yes
We may be pessimists, but we ain’t no FŪLs!
That said, do any previous buyers have input on how sturdy these are? As a reference point, my family breaks Samsonites. (Sorry gorilla, you’re doing it wrong)
I don’t see any integrated TSA Approved locks on these. . .or did I miss it?
I prefer the hyphen. It’s less shifty.
Would they protect your belongings in a plane crash? 'Cause that’s probably what’s gonna happen anyway.
@KillSw1tch note to self: search for luggage made out of black box recorders.
Why can’t they just make the whole plane out of whatever they make those out of? Then crashes aren’t a problem.
@djslack because physics
@medz bah, physics… pffft.
/giphy pffft physics
It is truly stunning how bereft of reviews this company is… like truly. Is it a Soviet smuggling front?
Hard “sided” is not hard “shell”. If is has a zipper, it isn’t hard shell. These won’t protect your stuff any better than soft sided luggage.
@nightscotsman FALSE! I had a hard-sided luggage set with a zipper between the two halves. (clam shell, if you like) It certainly did a better job protecting my crap than a soft sided set I had previously. One thing I didn’t about the hard sides is there were no external pockets. Soft sided bags have extra zipper pockets on the outside to help with organization and easy access to things.
@nightscotsman Being that these are ABS (as opposed to polycarbonate), it might even do worse than some fabric ones.
(If checking in something that needs protection, box it.)
If I could find just a few reviews, I would have ordered these… I find the complete lack of FUL luggage reviews on any site disturbing…
not pulling the trigger, not even for the candy corn

@medz A Don’t Try At Home type of test would suffice.
@narfcake shhhh…I’m trying to get someone a free vacation!
@medz This is meh … in the back of my mind, their idea of a free vacation is probably a trip to Arizona in July or Minnesota in January.
@narfcake the meh trip is renting space on a cargo plane, staying in a fridge box, and eating from the fanny pack they bought of WOOT a couple years ago that recently got stuffed with some slightly melted candy corn and a pineapple cup. @bleedmichigan … and yet, that still sounds more pleasant than a flight on Spirit Airlines or Ryanair.
