Fukubukuro ignorance?
2Am I the only person that purposely hasn't looked at any unboxing or mentions of what was in any of the fukus? Over at Woot, I used to read the forums and get a feel for what the standard items were and then usually end up getting none of them in my bags which was both good and bad. However, usually there would be items that it seemed every other user received and I'd get broken XM radios and speakers missing crucial components instead. Very frequently I wouldn't even receive any kind of bag.
Since I haven't bought anything over there in years and moved my daily deals purchasing (or not purchasing) to meh, I figured I'd keep myself intentionally in the dark about contents and arrival date. Anyone else following the same path? Full disclosure: I won't read any of the notification emails or come back to this thread till after I receive my bag, so good luck trying to spoil this for me @studerc!

I couldn't resist peeking at the unboxing thread Friday, but after looking at a couple pics I repented and closed the tab.
I buy tons of stuff from Woot, including three items during the current woot-off. I've bought more stuff from them since Meh launched than I have from here. I think it's OK to get over shit. (It would have been four if I'd scored one of the bags they just put up.)
That said, I always avoid the unboxing spoiler threads until they aren't spoilers anymore. And once I get my stuff, I only post in them if there's a reason to.
Some of the bags I got there were awesome (including the very first one, which included a Roomba, but even the one with lots of figurines and toys was very cool) and some of them were exactly what they tell you they are, including one with a used towel and two refrigerator magnets and the pets.woot one, which was just a couple of stuffed animals.
I kind of blame the community there -- for bitching about them so much for so long -- more than I blame Woot. They were way better when you could choose how many to buy, and people obsessing over box dimensions and weights are just annoying (let alone compiling spreadsheets of all that shit... seriously?!). And once Woot had to start getting defensive about them, that was the beginning of the end.
I don't get jealous about, or disappointed, when I see others get goodies that I don't, so I thoroughly enjoy the unboxing threads. I can see why some would choose to avoid it, though. :-)
