9 inch filthy tablet that won’t boot. Sometimes it shows the haier logo, but seems to be getting worse. So a fairly crappy paper weight. I would have been quite pleased had it worked, but no.
@D_a_v_e I got one of those in the last Fuku. Charge it up (it takes forever but the charger that came with it seems to work the fastest). Once charged, hold the volume up button for about 10 seconds. It’ll go into the boot menu. Do a restoration on it and you’ll be good to go. It’s not the best tablet in the world, but it works for my kids to use here and there.
I had missed the meh sticker in the bag. When I saw other posts it made me look and it was there! Yay!
I like the puck, not sure why but I do.
The tablet does seem to be coming to life. After charging, a factory reset, cache clearing, and software update it may just work out for the kids.
I hope there wasn’t any biohazardous substance on it, but it’s reasonably clean now.
They should have send a VCR so I could play the tape.

RCA DAA730R 7" Android 4.1. Tablet with TV Tuner (seems to be working fine and like new condition)
@excarnate I searched for some time and found no updates, also the built in updater fails when it tries to lookup the server name.
Some mentioned they rooted their rca tablets (not necessarily this model) using pdanet… but I didn’t dig much deeper.
I live too far out for tv signals but I have stored mine in a FINE HIGH QUALITY BUILT NY NEOPRENE FLOWER PRINT CASE and will test tv function when I am in town… the upside it doesn’t freeze when scanning, but it finds nothing out here in the boonies.
So I got in town and picked up a couple stations… so it does work as a portable tv… it looked ok. it doesn’t seem to have much range with that tiny antenna… will try again when on the other side of town to see if I get any big stations (these seemed to be a couple smaller stations).
I still have found nothing about any updates or any prebuilt roms for it… anyone else have any luck?
@thismyusername I finally got close to the city to try the tuner, the EPG and ended up with 4 channels.
Have not found any other Roms or updates either. Virtually no mention of this tablet anywhere aside from few places that are selling/sold it.
@thekenya You might need to hold the volume up button then hold power when you try to turn it on, that will get you into restore mode and you can run the factory reset from there.
@turk911 Is there a way to attach an antenna? I used an indoor one and even though I was 15-20 miles from the stations I got all the over the air ones. Where I live now (cement and steel building where I face north and all stations are south of me) I can’t get anything with an indoor antenna (but the people facing south can).
@CozzaFrenzy Gosh those foam dart guns have been sent out on multiple Fukus and fukos. They must have even more of them than the seizure glasses. They do hurt, by the way, when someone shoots them at you at close range…

My Fuko finally arrived today. Originally showed 2.2 lbs via tracking, then changed to a whopping 6 lbs. My biggest haul to date:
Obligatory Texas air (yum); Designer car sun shade (animal print - useful!); Napoleon dynamite photo book (awesome!); captain jack army cap pistol (I won’t take this with me on the plane); meh hockey puck and sticker (double awesome!); meh bag (did not make it into the photo, lame I know…) plus a Bem wireless Bluetooth Duo stereo system (actually works well after about 15 minutes of fussing)!!
@bettynugs I got that BEM blue tooth in my last Fuko but one of the speakers has a really annoying buzzing sound. does yours? Do you know anyway to fix this?
@lennon818 No, mine does not make any annoying sounds (other than a few bad 80’s songs that somehow find their way into the musical rotation). BUT, with 3 different potential Bluetooth failure points and a cheaply-made plasticy base controlling all the action, I don’t excpect this thing to last very long. Have you tried contacting Bem via email? I’ve had good luck with other manufacturers using that path.
Mine arrived today. Included with the obligatory Texas air were a bag, a flintlock-style cap gun, the Fuku bag which I shall carry proudly to the market, a pair of Piranha Eyewear shades (tortoise shell, very nice), and a returned Martian Notifier smartwatch (black / black), which is currently charging and we’ll see how / if it works. Very cool. I’m a happy camper, in the “let’s see if these new toys can help to fill the void in my life” kind of way.

Well I should’ve known better when I saw the bright red “RT” scrawled on the side. I presumed it stood for return, but I had gotten return items before and they were pristine.
Oh boy, but not this coffee maker.
I’m not entirely certain meh didn’t violate some bio-hazards/weapons law by sending this to me.
It is absolutely filthy. Hand grease all over it. Someone made an attempt at cleaning it, but instead it just ended up looking like streaked handprints. He filter compartment is dirty. Somewhat interestingly the water tank is nearly pristine. Guess the previous owners must’ve had really soft water. Oh and the pot, by god the pot. It looks as though a small rodent died inside of it and its fluids pooled at the bottom of it.
The area holding the pot is dusty and smacked up as well.
Well it’s going straight in the trash.
This also leaves me with another troubling thought. Is the enema pump used as well?

@Felton10 I tried a giphy for an elephant threesome and discovered that they do make inflatable animals for sex complete with the appropriate orifices. None of the photos were even safe for here. Horses were especially popular.

@darkdragon I got a Trio Stealth 8 MST8-21 tablet that seemed like the only issue was the user had switched it to Spanish. I hard reset and set it back up in English and it was good for a few minutes. Then it was randomly back in Spanish, giving errors about Launcher crashing over and over, and pretty useless without another reset.
If you wanna pay for postage, I’ll gladly fish it out of the trashcan and send it to you.

Package delivered 2 whole days early - can’t wait to get home and open my very light 2.9lb box. It can’t possibly contain anything but Texas air and I refuse to look at any reveals.
Mine just arrived, via USPS. I caught it at midnight, it’s 2.6 lbs, and it has seven items. Meh sticker (car window), meh puck (do these have a secret inside?), meh bag, Krusty the clown keychain, Olive Oyl figurine, soft dart gun, and a NuVision HD TM785M3 tablet, kitkat!!! Looks new, all parts in the box, no fingerprints on screen. Charging now. Overall it’s classic meh. The cat has claimed the bag.
@OldCatLady Note: the NuVision was registered to somebody named Jose, who spoke Spanish, and its battery is dead, dead, dead, after 24 hours charging. Works okay when plugged in; I’ll do a factory reset and use it for a music player.
@OldCatLady I think I bought one of those NuVision tablets at sam’s club. I ended up taking it back because the sound was terrible. It was not capable of playing headphones loud enough for my kids to watch a movie in the car on the way to grandma’s. Good luck.

Whatever glass items have always been broken. The couple if electronic items I received were returns that were dead or missing parts that I’d have to spend almost enough to buy the item new. The toy junk i received was just that - junk. My nephew or the kids on the block wouldn’t even play with…lol

Overall, this one was not terrible. The tablet had a post-it note attached that said “BEST II” but I have received the same tablet in a past fuko and can confirm that it is actually the WORST. So, “best of the worst” is pretty on brand for meh.

The sticker on the bag says “Used Good” and the plastic’s not the gross shade of yellow you usually see. Game pad looks all right too. Score!
To be honest, hunting down old cartridges isn’t really my idea of a good time, and the emulators on my TV thingies don’t need an HDMI upgrade to look good.
Maybe I can help a collector out here with a trade (but I’m even less sure what to do with a novice triangle instrument).
@trisk FYI the NES doesn’t really turn yellow unless it’s stored in the sun or something else untoward, the SNES is the one that does that due to lower quality plastic being adopted in later models and/or the flame retardant chemical treatment they received at one point. It does look like a rather nice unit that someone packaged carefully!

@StrangerDanger I wasn’t very happy with mine at first. Charge it using the wall charger overnight. Do a factory reset, than wipe the caches. Mine seems fine enough for the kids now.

@canprobablyfix I’ll try booting it when it has a charge tomorrow. The screen didn’t even have fingerprints when I took it out of the bag in the box, so I’m hopeful.
@OldCatLady I don’t see any signs of life after around 8 hours. Nothing lights up (not even the little power indicator dot) when I plug into the wall or usb to a wall charger or PC. Looks like this one may really be dead? Any other ideas?
@bdp After charging for 24 hours, my NuVision will boot if it’s plugged in, but the battery is completely dead. It was registered to a Spanish speaker, so I will factory reset. I may physically replace the battery. There are some guides on YouTube and ifixit. I do like dinking with hardware, as long as my job isn’t on the line.
@bdp After I replaced the microUSB/USB cable with a good one from my stash, it’s charging enthusiastically. I reset it and it’s updated, so I’m much happier. Quick, easy fix, and I didn’t have to call tech support to have them say ‘Did you try turning it off and then on again?’ I d/l the manual too.
@OldCatLady thanks for not giving up on me! Mine needed a charge via a different use cable and booted. Locked to the prior owner so I flashed the firmware and set it up. Fun little toy. Reminds me of the old nooks. Now to see if there are custom firmwares!

Mine overheats so I suspect I’ll be opening it up at some point. But me and the missus watched some Colbert on it and that was nice.
@excarnate I searched for some time and found no updates, also the built in updater fails when it tries to lookup the server name.
Some mentioned they rooted their rca tablets (not necessarily this model) using pdanet… but I didn’t dig much deeper.
I live too far out for tv signals but I have stored mine in a FINE HIGH QUALITY BUILT NY NEOPRENE FLOWER PRINT CASE and will test tv function when I am in town… the upside it doesn’t freeze when scanning, but it finds nothing out here in the boonies.

Have not found any other Roms or updates either. Virtually no mention of this tablet anywhere aside from few places that are selling/sold it.
@thekenya You might need to hold the volume up button then hold power when you try to turn it on, that will get you into restore mode and you can run the factory reset from there.
@turk911 Is there a way to attach an antenna? I used an indoor one and even though I was 15-20 miles from the stations I got all the over the air ones. Where I live now (cement and steel building where I face north and all stations are south of me) I can’t get anything with an indoor antenna (but the people facing south can).

My Fuko finally arrived today. Originally showed 2.2 lbs via tracking, then changed to a whopping 6 lbs. My biggest haul to date:
Obligatory Texas air (yum); Designer car sun shade (animal print - useful!); Napoleon dynamite photo book (awesome!); captain jack army cap pistol (I won’t take this with me on the plane); meh hockey puck and sticker (double awesome!); meh bag (did not make it into the photo, lame I know…) plus a Bem wireless Bluetooth Duo stereo system (actually works well after about 15 minutes of fussing)!!

@bettynugs I got that BEM blue tooth in my last Fuko but one of the speakers has a really annoying buzzing sound. does yours? Do you know anyway to fix this?

@lennon818 No, mine does not make any annoying sounds (other than a few bad 80’s songs that somehow find their way into the musical rotation). BUT, with 3 different potential Bluetooth failure points and a cheaply-made plasticy base controlling all the action, I don’t excpect this thing to last very long. Have you tried contacting Bem via email? I’ve had good luck with other manufacturers using that path.
Mine arrived today. Included with the obligatory Texas air were a bag, a flintlock-style cap gun, the Fuku bag which I shall carry proudly to the market, a pair of Piranha Eyewear shades (tortoise shell, very nice), and a returned Martian Notifier smartwatch (black / black), which is currently charging and we’ll see how / if it works. Very cool. I’m a happy camper, in the “let’s see if these new toys can help to fill the void in my life” kind of way.

Well I should’ve known better when I saw the bright red “RT” scrawled on the side. I presumed it stood for return, but I had gotten return items before and they were pristine.
Oh boy, but not this coffee maker.
I’m not entirely certain meh didn’t violate some bio-hazards/weapons law by sending this to me.
It is absolutely filthy. Hand grease all over it. Someone made an attempt at cleaning it, but instead it just ended up looking like streaked handprints. He filter compartment is dirty. Somewhat interestingly the water tank is nearly pristine. Guess the previous owners must’ve had really soft water. Oh and the pot, by god the pot. It looks as though a small rodent died inside of it and its fluids pooled at the bottom of it.
The area holding the pot is dusty and smacked up as well.
Well it’s going straight in the trash.
This also leaves me with another troubling thought. Is the enema pump used as well?

@darkdragon I got a Trio Stealth 8 MST8-21 tablet that seemed like the only issue was the user had switched it to Spanish. I hard reset and set it back up in English and it was good for a few minutes. Then it was randomly back in Spanish, giving errors about Launcher crashing over and over, and pretty useless without another reset.
If you wanna pay for postage, I’ll gladly fish it out of the trashcan and send it to you.

Whatever glass items have always been broken. The couple if electronic items I received were returns that were dead or missing parts that I’d have to spend almost enough to buy the item new. The toy junk i received was just that - junk. My nephew or the kids on the block wouldn’t even play with…lol

The sticker on the bag says “Used Good” and the plastic’s not the gross shade of yellow you usually see. Game pad looks all right too. Score!
To be honest, hunting down old cartridges isn’t really my idea of a good time, and the emulators on my TV thingies don’t need an HDMI upgrade to look good.
Maybe I can help a collector out here with a trade (but I’m even less sure what to do with a novice triangle instrument).

@trisk FYI the NES doesn’t really turn yellow unless it’s stored in the sun or something else untoward, the SNES is the one that does that due to lower quality plastic being adopted in later models and/or the flame retardant chemical treatment they received at one point. It does look like a rather nice unit that someone packaged carefully!

Haier open box tablet. Doesn’t seem to hold a charge. If I unplug it after a few hours of charging it turns off. Not sure what I can use it for yet since it needs to be plugged in at all times…

@bdp Your tablet’s battery might just be really, really flat. After two+ hours on a charger, my NuVision tablet is about 15% charged. Give it a day.

@canprobablyfix I’ll try booting it when it has a charge tomorrow. The screen didn’t even have fingerprints when I took it out of the bag in the box, so I’m hopeful.
@OldCatLady I don’t see any signs of life after around 8 hours. Nothing lights up (not even the little power indicator dot) when I plug into the wall or usb to a wall charger or PC. Looks like this one may really be dead? Any other ideas?
@bdp After charging for 24 hours, my NuVision will boot if it’s plugged in, but the battery is completely dead. It was registered to a Spanish speaker, so I will factory reset. I may physically replace the battery. There are some guides on YouTube and ifixit. I do like dinking with hardware, as long as my job isn’t on the line.
@bdp After I replaced the microUSB/USB cable with a good one from my stash, it’s charging enthusiastically. I reset it and it’s updated, so I’m much happier. Quick, easy fix, and I didn’t have to call tech support to have them say ‘Did you try turning it off and then on again?’ I d/l the manual too.
@OldCatLady thanks for not giving up on me! Mine needed a charge via a different use cable and booted. Locked to the prior owner so I flashed the firmware and set it up. Fun little toy. Reminds me of the old nooks. Now to see if there are custom firmwares!

After reading comments I had to double check on the humidifier, and it does look brand new. It’s got some expired coupons from 2014, but otherwise it’s still in an original bag with tape on inside parts from what I can tell. A pretty great deal if it does indeed work, as our other humidifier probably has a bunch of buildup in it from last year.
@dcNate I got the same humidifier on my first fuko couple of months ago. Box was beat up, but humidifier looked new and unused like yours. My daughter has been trying to sell it on e-bay with no takers so far.

@MehsterSplinter FYI - I ordered those lights before and broke one on first button push. Took the light apart and saw that the button is on the end of the circuit board with no support underneath. So when you push it you’re bending the board or snapping it in my case. I glued an eraser under the ones i didn’t break and they work fine so far.

@RiotDemon I am attempting to do just that! That said, it appears to be glued together with no obvious way to gently take it apart. It is likely going to come apart only.to never be put back together again.
@wildcat I was able to open mine cause I had the same exact issue. Try flexing the tablet by bending it a little so a corner or edge pops up and stick a guitar pick in there to open it up. Mine’s gonna take some mad soldering skills to get it back on there though since my entire port came off the PCB.
@wildcat Ok, well it’s time to crack it open this week. First I tried to see if RCA would support it because it appears to be new. After being redirected 4 times, two of the numbers not even being real support desks, by various RCA support desks, it appears RCA is embarrassed to claim this as their own.

So I think I’ll accept my fate on this one.

Mine was lackluster as well. Still funny, but meh. There was a Hello Kitty used tablet with boogers on it or something, but my son can’t get past the lock code and I need to reset it. Anyone have any ideas? Also I washed off the boogers. Or whatever.

Power it off, then press and hold the power and volume up buttons for a few seconds.
It should bring up the reset menu, use the volume buttons to scroll up/down and power to select. Select “wipe data/factory reset”. It will ask you to confirm, press power button to confirm and continue. “Then select reboot system now”

@fjp999 I also got a Stealth Trio Tablet (7" hence probably older-2012). Mine had fingerprints and someones e-mail in it, but works. Amazon selling it got $ 84 with 46% giving it a poor rating. But for $5-its a bargain.

@Bandrik No idea what it is. I was hoping someone would see it and tell me. It does have a silver screw top which looks rather lamp-like but there aren’t any other parts, and the bottom is solid (no place to thread a cord through.) So, candle holder is the best guess so far.

I didn’t realize posting bag contents here was a thing, so I sadly have no pictures. My box was a hair over 6lbs.
The joy I will get from torturing my coworker with the one doll over the course of the next month before he inevitably makes it vanish forever is more than worth the price and the socks are rather comfortable. I think my boss has absconded with Xizor, though I am sure he’ll show up eventually and the starfish had a short, glorious life being used as gigantic shuriken during a nerf raid. I am still confused by the chips maker set, but since it involves cooking I am sure to have minor burns in my future when I decide to be brave enough to try and figure it out.
I have MAJOR Fukobukuro envy. I wasn’t fast enough. But I have since upgraded my internet connection speed.

I don’t know if anyone else has tried this, but the puck slides really well. Kind of impressive in a low expectations sort of way. The wife enjoyed herself with it. Goes well with (and creates another use for) the swatters. She was, btw, accidentally wearing the meh shirt. Because we have lots of meh shirts and it only makes sense to wear them IRL. I have slow-motion video of her flipping the puck like a pancake. She caught it twice and I don’t think I captured either triumph. So I’ve got that going for me. I may try to figure out how to post it, if anyone cares.
In summary, appropriately meh, shitty junk. I sure wish that damned coffee maker worked. As it is, I’d be better off without it. It is a fuko. So that hockey puck turned out to be a rather desired item. Both my 3.5 year old son and 1.5 year old daughter love that damn thing. So what I thought was a rather disappointing fuku turned into something very rewarding after seeing their enjoyment.
Can’t get a boc on the other site …so got the subscription and still can’t get one…check every day at 8…so I’m paying to be disappointed not quite the same as the potential disappointment from a fukobukuro…gah

@sammydog01 @RiotDemon There is, smart post is classified as 3rd class mail, and not offered as part of the free forwarding service. Learned that recently.
I had contacted support when the order was still processing, but they had told me to try to hold it for pickup or have it forwarded. I chose the latter. Live and learn, I suppose.

Finally got around to playing with my tablet… screen wasnt working and a friend picked it up with a stronger grip and walla… it works. Not sure what I will do with it.
