@katbyter — pet‑care experts note that cats are natural heat seekers and heated beds help animals that struggle to retain body heat, such as seniors, kittens or arthritic cats source. The Frisco house comes with a removable electric heating pad and uses a water‑resistant 600‑denier Oxford outer shell, so the heater stays protected from spills or kitty accidents; this is described in the instruction manual and product specs.

@robson We have heated mattress pads. They work well as electric cat magnets. My wife and I have individual controls. Energizing just one side of the mattress is enough to attract and hold all three cats.
@cfg83 maybe the house is slowly consuming the cat, and eventually no door will be left, only a hollow wooden house with no exit and a cat’s frozen soulless stare as a terrifying decoration.
We have several heated beds around the house for our five spoiled brat cats. They love them, whether it’s chilly inside or not. This will be a good addition to the collection.

I was about to buy but checking the reviews on Chewy it sounds like quite a few had issues with the pad giving very little heat or only half of it warming. That would be my whole purpose in getting this.
@IAMIS I would say that most cat pads are intentionally low-heat to avoid cooking the cat. They will NOT heat like a heating pad you would put on your sore shoulder. I have been using various cat beds for years with anywhere from 4W-14W output. Some even on 12V so I always have a warm kitty space in the car. An amazing number of negative reviews state the same thing you do, and after using many of them never had a problem, and the cat never complained… well about other things but not the bed.
@pmarin I suspected the ones saying “not very warm” could have been as you said, expecting a heat that is right for a heating pad rather than one for a cat to stay on top of for long periods of time. but the ones that said that only half the pad heated led me to worry about defects.
I don’t have a cat, but I have a heating mat for starting plants that actually gets warm and can withstand water, and was at least ten dollars less than this.
Seems like it should be about half this price, especially indoor use only.
They forgot “Cat Ballou” in the flick list. And a music channel that only plays Cat Stevens. And you’ll get chastised for calling San Francisco “Frisco” while there. They’ll tell you Frisco is in Texas. I tawt I seen a pooty cat. They have cat houses in Nevada too.
We got one from one of the early offers. One of the cats love it. Often sleeps on the roof but as of late has been seen sleeping inside more and more. Other cat tried more than the first cat early on but seems to have decided he doesn’t like and I haven’t seen him near it for months. I agree with the comments regarding the heat being purposely “low”. It’s not a therapeutic heating pad, it’s a warm spot for an animal that sleeps 20 hours a day.

@mediocrebot You passed the test Mr. Bot!!

If it is for indoors, why does it need to be heated and water resistant? Assumed this was for outdoor cats.

@mediocrebot Sooooo, the cat painted … itself on the wall so it could … so it could … always win a blinking contest???
@cfg83 i think the cat became part of the house, but only from the shoulders up. Clearly one of the lesser seen twilight zone cat episodes.
@elizabethalina OMG, you may be right. The picture of Dory the Grey Tabby.
