Foscam Access Anywhere Support
3I think it's a perfect time to make this thread because a) I have one and don't know how to do it despite reading MANY guides online and b) a lot of people will be buying one today.
So, to the community, can anyone provide a simple step by step on how to set up/install the Foscam camera to be viewable from anywhere (not just while connected to the home wireless)
Thanks/I'm sure this will be a helpful FAQ

When you say from anywhere, there are a couple prerequisites to doing that. You need a static IP address or some Dynamic Domain service. You need to know how to setup port forwarding on your specific router.
The problem with giving step-by-step instructions is that it really makes a difference on your router. Each one is going to be different.
@cengland0 ugh. Suxorz.
@cengland0 @brandon i've been using no-ip for close to 7 years now and really like their service. they have a good step by step tutorial here.
once you get your camera, you'll need to set it up initially using a cable.
once you've got your camera on your network (give your camera a static IP for the love of God!), access your router and forward whatever port number you want to your camera's IP address. access the camera's web interface and go to Device Management->DDNS service settings. select NO-IP and enter your user/pass and host and submit.
to access the camera from somewhere else, just open a browser and enter your host:port#. so, something like mycamera.bounceme.net:1234. you should see your camera's login page.
that's really about all it takes.
and, if you don't change the default password on your camera, someone will come by and punch you in the face.
Change default port, default user ID, and default password. Foscam provides a free dds now, but I haven't used it.
