For the Mac users: The many superpowers of the Preview app
7I came across this article in one of the many daily newsletters I get at work, and it was very interesting despite not owning a Mac or using them at work.
Please enjoy, and if you've got any other awesome tips, Mac or otherwise, please share.

yes, i love preview. i use it all the time. the simple fact that i dont have to install adobes shitty acrobat is reason enough to love preview.
Preview is a surprisingly powerful program. I rarely have to use something like iPhoto or Pixelmator for basic editing. It can handle signing PDFs, which is convenient. I like that you can rename the file you're working on by clicking the name in the title bar.
Automator is another seriously underapprecisted powerhouse.
I like to print recipes from websites directly to a PDF in a dropbox folder. I use Preview to crop all of the ads off of the PDF and remove any superfluous blank pages, and BAM! I've got a very convenient and legible recipe on whatever little screen I have in the kitchen.
I have Photoshop for most picture editing, but Preview is great for quick edits and cropping. Also, when creating documentation or instructions that require screen shots, I will use Preview's markup tools to throw in the arrows/highlights/color boxes. Just a lot faster.
The original article is here (with screenshots to boot).
Open up the sidebar so you get page thumbnails, and you can use it to combine PDFs, rearrange pages, etc... One of those things I hear Windows users grumbling about having to step into Acrobat Pro for fairly regularly...
