@nolrak There’s a huge slot to insert your phone into. The music comes out of the accessory port, though I think you may need to find a special adapter for your headphones.
Near as I can tell this model doesn’t support Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. You might try putting 3rd party adapters into the slot with your phone though.
@nolrak-oooh! I would never repeat what my lil-bitty cute wife said about where you could plug it in, HA, Ha, or where the sound comes out, but you should be careful about what you talk, bro!! The door is just too wide ass open, LOL, but this blind man is not walkin through it! Not Eye said the blind man!!
@eeterrific-Exactly how long do you plan to hold the weed without smoking it & dogs have to find the scherb before the smell test transpires. Also, if you put the pot where, like children, they can’t reach it then the smell test is null & avoided!!
@MrMikenIkes meat lasts way longer (I believe that’s a scientific term) in the freezer after vacuum sealing, plus you can buy in bulk and break down into portions easily when sealing.
It says it comes with the following:
3x Quart Vacuum-Seal Bags
2x Gallon Vacuum-Seal Bags
1× 11" x 10’ Vacuum-Seal Roll
@MrMikenIkes it comes with 3x Quart Vacuum-Seal Bags, 2x Gallon Vacuum-Seal Bags and most importantly 1× 11" x 10’ Vacuum-Seal Roll, which lets you make 10 feet of your own bags.
To answer your second question, the internet says about 2 or 3 times as long. Anecdotally, the first thing I was amazed by when I got my foodsaver was how long food I would usually give up on would last when vacuum sealed. Remember that most meat you buy isn’t vacuum sealed, so if you get it home and seal it, it will last waaay longer. Bacon, for example, does come vacuum sealed, but it is really nice to know that one you open that bag, it doesn’t all have to be cooked in a week. I will often buy a big party pack of burger patties, seal them all up (since I have no friends to throw a party with), and freeze them until I wish to cook.
@cengland0@MrMikenIkes Plus those are WAAAY conservative numbers- we’ve frozen steaks [I like to season them with Pep-taste and fresh Black pepper before vac-sealing], and- although prior to owning the sealer, I would have been horrified at the idea of freezing a steak, they came out tasting like fresh- AND w/o any of the usual changes in texture associated w/ freezing meat.
This was after well over 3 years- almost 4.5, IIRC.
WIW, we are usually pretty religious about stock rotation, but a couple of them got lost behind the newer ones, and overstayed their internment.
@MrMikenIkes also i often reseal thing in the bags they came in. Like chips or crackers i just seal the bags closed. Cheese or bacon i re vacuum seal in the bags it came in. Anything that us sealed for freshness can be resealed without using a new bag.
@MrMikenIkes also i keep mine ontop of the fridge and have it so i can seal without having to pull in and out of the cabinets. It is always plugged in ontop the fridge and i just seal or vac seal having learnes that the button on right is vacuum seal and left is heat seal.
@MrMikenIkes It comes with some bags, and you can wash them in the dishwasher. I cut them extra long so I can get a few uses out of them. These are waaaaay better then ziplock bags if you are storing stuff for longer periods of time. I find things in ziplocks get frosty way faster then the vac sealed items. (Because sometimes I’m too lazy to pull the thing out of the cabinet)
I have one, love it to bits. The only issue is I sometimes have to press down on the center to get it to seal some bags, especially if they’re “wet”. The melter doesn’t work the best, and I have to vac it a second time. But I still love it because it makes buying stuff in bulk so much nicer.
It’s good that it comes with bags, but do yourself a favor and do not buy the brand name bags. I’m sure someone else has said/will say this, but you can get HUGE rolls of bags in different widths on Amazon for next to nothing and they work just as well.
I have this model, which I bought new, and It Is Good. Two times a year Aldi has their own brand of sealing material in rolls during their one week special sales. You can use any brand of vacuum seal bags or rolls with this. With a roll of the material, you cut off how much you need and seal one edge and you have a bag. Or, first seal the edge of the roll, cut off how much you need, vacuum and seal.
““You want the design department to make twelve images in a few hours?” asked the intern.
“Yes,” said Richard.
“But how?”
“They have computers,” Richard said. “It’s easy. And anyway, I don’t tell them how to do their jobs. Until I do.”
Bought this one a while back. Love this model, small, lightweight, easy to take in and out of a bottom cabinet. When you store it, don’t lock it in the closed/locked position. That will put constant pressure on the seal and loosen it over time. Well worth the money.
I only need the accessory hose. They are available direct from Foodsaver and eBay for around $8 but that’s too much for a simple hose. Meh, you wanna sell me the hose with free shipping for around $3?
What’s the deal with it wasting less plastic than other models? The automatic one wanted to waste about 2" per bag, so I got a similarly compact model here a while back that needs about an inch. Is this better than that?
Got this exact same refurb model nearly 2 years ago when it was $22. Once I figured out where the heck the oval rubber gaskets go, it works great! It’s a very basic model, but does the job, with a tiny bit of extra operator effort. A huge box of FoodSaver bags & rolls is cheap at Costco, where I’ve been buying beef, pork, and fish to vacuum pack. Food keeps way longer (and better) in the freezer, and with the addition of a $50 sale-priced Strata sous-vide cooker at Monoprice, this thing has paid for itself in spades with bulk savings, no wasted food, and delicious meals. One of my least “meh” purchases ever.
One tip- If you vacuum seal a loaf of fresh bread, freeze it solid BEFORE sealing. On my first attempt, I completely flattened the bread (good suction!!).
@MrNews If we had one of these when I was a kid, I’d probably have tried to see if I could squish an entire loaf into a ball and eat it in one bite. Good thing we didn’t as I’m sure I would’ve hated the resulting doctor’s visit.
@kuoh@MrNews-I would’ve tried to seal a live Toad Frog in one of those free bags!! I just really wonder how long {although I can’t think about stuff like that now} would he breath, or stay alive alive sealed up like that¿?
@kuoh@MrNews- I know, right? My friends & I were bad to the bone!! Thankfully, I’ve changed, or life has changed me. I now Love animals many rimes more than humans, maybe not really, but that’s what I tell people.
@pmarin Yeah, I posted that, and once I saw what it was, I was sorry I posted it. Ugh! giphys have done that to me more than once. My poor judgement is from drinking all the Casemates wine I think.
I really suck at cutting rolls, so I bought a bunch of third-party bags on Amazon. Then I got a fancier FoodSaver with a built-in roll cutter.
I bought a bunch of green peanuts last fall when driving through southern Alabama. I boiled them and divided them into bags (which I froze open first, then sealed). I still have a couple left. I opened one last month (after letting it thaw in the refrigerator) and the goobers were in great shape.
(I do not boil peanuts to mush; maybe twenty minutes in heavily salted water.)
I’ve tried buying this like 20 times and I keep getting an error. I’ve tried a different address, different card number, everything. Everything has been going wrong today. I hope I don’t go home to find my cat dead. Is anyone else tired of life in general? Sigh.
@cengland0 It didn’t say. Just said “There was an error placing your order” or something basic like that. I tried looking for some marking somewhere on the page to indicate what was wrong. I manually put in my card and checked that I have funds available, then tried another card. Nothing worked. I was going to see if I could use this to vacuum bubbles from resin, like a little vacuum chamber.
@HELLOALICE Hey, give me your name, address, and credit card details and I’ll try it for you. Just kidding of course.
The fact you tried a different credit card makes this a challenge to debug because that’s the first think I would do to eliminate the credit card as the problem.
I’ve had credit cards fail before even when I’m at a retail store with a long line of people behind me. Very embarrassing. Turned out there was suspicious behavior on my credit card and the company put a temporary hold on it until they could contact me. But something like that shouldn’t impact a second credit card.
I have seen some suggestions that helped other people. If you live in an apartment, try putting the apartment number on the line above your street address. Seems weird to do that but I’ve heard it works sometimes.
Do the obvious things like check your expiration date in case you got a new card and didn’t update it. Check the digits on the back of your card was entered correctly, etc. Doubt you entered the actual credit card number wrong because that can be determined immediately with the Luhn algorithm so Meh should have told you that before processing.
But if you did do some “out of ordinary” purchasing before trying to use your card online, check with your bank to make sure there’s no hold. You can even check to see if they did gave an authorization for the Meh purchase or if they declined it. That way you can see if it’s on your bank side or Meh’s side.
If you just filled up your car with gas and then tried to make an online purchase, that can be considered suspicious behavior. If someone steals a card or finds one and wishes to see if it’s a valid card before attempting to use it at retail store, they will frequently go to gas stations to test it because they don’t need to face a real person in the event it fails. (I know this benefit of working in the credit card industry for 11 years). Definitely if you go to a gas station for a fill-up and then immediately go to Best Buy to buy anything, your card can be flagged.
@HELLOALICE- You are all alone on this Boodrow; how do you feel when you have a real crisis, or tragedy? I here you clucking!! Would you like some Cheese with that,…? Just picking at you Bro; sometimes I give up because I hid my gun from myself! Now, that’s just Plain Stupid!! Good thing I quit smoking Loco Weed, or I would be crying & searching for my stash!!
@cengland0 I get a text any time my card blocks a purchase, and I didn’t get one, so I don’t think that’s it. I checked twice with both cards, all entered correctly.
If they have any leftover maybe they’ll sell it again, that’s all I can hope for

Again, this is the second day in a row that I don’t understand — where does my phone plug in and where does the music come out?
@nolrak,
That’s because it isn’t a speaker. You use this to make your phone waterproof.
Then you can play your tunes underwater!!!
@Freedom1958 ahhh, so this is a speaker dock accessory
@nolrak There’s a huge slot to insert your phone into. The music comes out of the accessory port, though I think you may need to find a special adapter for your headphones.
Near as I can tell this model doesn’t support Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. You might try putting 3rd party adapters into the slot with your phone though.

Yup, good to have but hardly ever use because I don’t want to get it out of the basement.
@Stallion-Is that where your Cannibus Sativa{?} Plantation is located¿
Seal this deal and buy or Meh be not — food for thought though or meh be for your stomach
@tmilker
Just how long does it keep weed fresh? Can police dogs smell it through the plastic?
If you’re gonna advertise it that way, you’ve got to include the specs…
@eeterrific-Exactly how long do you plan to hold the weed without smoking it & dogs have to find the scherb before the smell test transpires. Also, if you put the pot where, like children, they can’t reach it then the smell test is null & avoided!!
How fresh is a refurbished FoodSaver? It is like new, of course.
@hchavers- No…new is like new!! Refurbitched is as good as new!!
This thing sucks.
@shahnm
@shahnm-We Hope & who is that dam monkey¿??

I have one. It is well worth the money if you buy things on sale and you need to freeze them to preserve them. I love mine.
@wrallredsr my dealer did give me a 20% off promo code the other day
Does this come with the bags or am I going to have to find a source for those as well?
Also, how long would this make meat last in the freezer as opposed to a regular Ziploc bag?
@MrMikenIkes Comes with the bags!
@MrMikenIkes I bought the big hulking monstrosity they were selling a few weeks ago and it came with bags.

@MrMikenIkes The manual has the answer on how long you can store things.
@djslack @Moose cool that’s exactly the info I was looking for! Now I can buy a party pack and pretend like I’m going to a party!!
