@lonocat Gotta have some place for those less-wanted who expect to spend the night. (Just tell them the regular guest bed needs to be fumigated because of bed bugs.)
Save the spare bedroom for the more-wanted (or the cats).
Pros: The fold-out bed is usually uncomfortable enough to convince guests that they need to book a hotel room instead.
Cons: Almost certain to cause the in-laws to give you unending grief while they insist that the expense of a hotel room is not justified.
@werehatrack Some of them seem intent on being slightly cruel (the couches, not the in-laws, though sometimes both things can be true).
When I did have a time I had to sleep on one of the fold-out couches, I preferred to leave it intact in regular couch mode, and just sleep on it lengthwise using some pillows and the side bolster as support for my head. (usually I use pillows or a wedge anyway to elevate my head and chest a bit). it was more comfy than the cruel fold-out mattress thing.
@mediocrebot You have thoughts of amputees? Should the rest of us be worried when you and your friends finish taking over the world?
And interesting it went from day to night.
The first try of medircrebot in response to @mycya4me is not how my cats would sleep with me in a truck. So I tried. But I deleted my command before the image came up (it was taking so long I thought I had to make a new comment rather than a reply one). The command to get more accuracy was “/showme a lady Sleeping with a lot of cats on top of her in the back of a truck”. Clearly mediocrebot has no idea how cats sleep with a human present and we have to tell it.
I do like the result above better than the one below when I tried again as the one above is more accurate.
@Kidsandliz I like both of them. But for the Pic to come up quickly. I exit the forum & some time exit MEH. Then I come right back into MEH / the Forum, Most of the time the pic it created is waiting for me!
@Kidsandliz@mycya4me The Pushmi-Pullyu cat in the center of the second picture is interesting.
But why does mediocrebot insist on humans sleeping crosswise in a long bed pickup?
if you would ever really think that is a good idea you would not ask, it is essentially a medieval torture device created by a short person without a spine.
Never been on a sleeper sofa that was comfortable. However, my Natuzzi (regular) sofa is a great place to cuddle up and fall asleep. It is so comfortable and soft. It doesn’t fold out, but it is a seven footer.
In the past we have frequently taken the mattress off the fold out couch and just put it straight on the floor. It’s a lot more comfortable.
OTOH our Ikea couch in the pool house that makes into a bed is very comfortable.
My parent’s ancient sleeper sofa they got from my grandma and the one my friend has are both comfortable. I’d suspect the difference is whether or not it is a low end one or not.
Whatever works with your space
@Cerridwyn yep
Versatility and functionality!
Having to move them negates all positives of having one
@tonylegrone yup…I am never moving another one of those evil things
@JvB @tonylegrone suggest they get a folding futon couch; it’s basically a reclining bench
Foldout couches let your guests know not to stay to long, as the bar in the middle will ruin their backs

Always nice to have thr extra bed. You just never know when you will need it.
@mikejb0329 said no one ever…

It’s the El Camino of couches.

@mediocrebot
Nice touch with the license plate.
Consider using this one for your next vehicle:
@phendrick @Ziggie a person with no legs he is… said Yoda
@mediocrebot Huge rabbits, and very strange cats.

@macromeh @mycya4me I think that is a two headed, with a shared butt, cat. Very special and rare.
@Kidsandliz @macromeh I also wondered that too. in some pics they have them laying on Nice, soft mattress, Another with nothing!

@bayportbob Well, we do have taller people without a spine. We call them politicians.

Too darn heavy to move!
