Oh geeze, Fee Fie Foe Fum... I actually got sent to the quiet chair during reading time in first grade because I kept asking why it didn't rhyme. It drove me crazy -- still does.
Obviously the similarity has already been noted, so I'll just say that I've missed Ben the Over-Literal Dermestid Beetle SO MUCH. To an almost irrational point. So this is wonderful to me.
It's said that sometimes poetry - especially rhyming poetry - gives us the best insight we have into the way that words and phrases once were sounded. Perhaps we spoke at the time of the story's origin with an accent that made it closer to a rhyme?

Fee Fie Foe Fighturk,
You're absolutely right, Irk!
-=C=-
I think Irk might be related to a certain dermestid beetle, because he certainly has a bone to pick.
Fee Fie Foe Feemie
I don't get it.
This is brilliant.
Did you...just call your own comment brilliant?
See, I started out as if I was going to rhyme something. And then I said "I don't get it" intentionally not rhyming it--which is funny.
I don't get it.
This is brilliant.
Since when did Irk become Ben the over literal dermestid beetle?
EDIT: @BillLecka beat me to it
Fee Fie Fo' Drizzle
Irks videos are the Shizzle
do people still say shizzle?
@capguncowboy Two people just did: JonT and you.
I rarely have the self control to stop myself from saying shizzle.
The one on the meh.com 404 page is really great. https://meh.com/adsfadsf
My wife asked if it rhymes when you say it with an English accent?
fum and man... the British accent would be very similar to the American accent. I vote no
There might be more assonance between the British pronounciations, but unless they say their Ms and Ns the same, it don't rhyme.
Hey, now Google is telling me assonance is a type of rhyme. OK!
So, this... irk's Irk?
Can we blame this for all of the half-rhymes in hip-hop?

I always prefered this one.

He's a troll. That makes him a spokestroll.
