Fall 2018 TV
3I know… I know…
It’s not Fall yet.
Since my post on October 7th, 2016 where I mentioned that I have 28 shows on my list, it’s gone down to 10, with one show ending this week.
(Thankfully Brooklyn Nine-Nine was picked up by NBC.)
Anyways, what shows are you looking forward to this year?
The only show so far which has piqued my interest is Manifest, although I’m acknowledging now that it may not necessarily have great ratings.

Are they bringing back Firefly yet?

@capguncowboy
No.
@capguncowboy Yes!
(I have no knowledge of this, I just wanted to be contrary to @PlacidPenguin.)
@ruouttaurmind
Out of all the choices you could have made, deciding to be on the other side of the scale was one of the worst you could have made.
Especially because I often remember certain older posts…
Is fall TV the same as a TV fall?
2,018 of them will really hurt, y’know.
@narfcake
After 1,835 of them, you stop feeling them.
@PlacidPenguin That’s because one would be dead already?
/giphy the cat is why we cannot have nice things
@narfcake @PlacidPenguin But it would be an awesome video for your memorial service.
@mehcuda67 @narfcake
Is there something I don’t know?
@mehcuda67 @PlacidPenguin I’m not dead yet, dammit!
@mehcuda67 @narfcake
I should hope not. It wouldn’t do me much good.
Easy to check here:

Went all Netflix+Prime+OTA with an all-in Tivo Roamio OTA and some SiliconDust HDHomerun + the DVR a couple of years ago and have never looked back.
OTA is nothing but time-wasters mostly. Waiting for the new seasons of The Orville, Goliath (Prime), The Americans (on Prime), Silver Spoons (Nflx), The Sniffer (Nflx), Bordertown (Nflx), and just finished Bosch (Prime).
I blame@seeds for the cancellation of The Grinder.
@mike808
I started watching The Orville, but I couldn’t get into it.
Maybe I’ll give it another try.
@PlacidPenguin I liked the cameos. And I like Seth McFarlane humor anyway. It’s in the vein of Galaxy Quest and low-investment watching, IMHO.
@mike808 I was all excited that there must be some modern update to Silver Spoons that I didn’t know about. Ricky Schroder grown up and getting it on with a much older Erin Gray or something… Turns out it’s Silver Spoon and there’s no train in the living room.
Manifest looks interesting. It seems to incorporate elements of Lost, House, and NYPD Blue if it were set in LA.
My guess is the airplane briefly flew through a “bubble” of sub atomic particles of extreme properties and experienced the passage of time much more slowly relative to everyone and everything outside that pocket of particles.
I’d watch it.

Loving that The 100 is back on, as will the final season of The Originals.
I’m just waiting on a new season of Sherlock…
"TV" is still on?
@RedOak
On days which end in ‘y’.
I’m NOT looking forward to NOT seeing The Brave and Scorpion. For crying out loud
@llangley
Rewatch them.
@PlacidPenguin yeah, I guess I should have said new episodes. But my TV memory is bad & when I DO see a repeat it’s only mildly familiar so it’s kinda like watching it new. Unless I’ve seen it 5 or more times and then I can go “I think I’ve seen this one”.
The mind is a terrible thing…
@llangley
On the other hand, it’s also a good thing, because the memory of pain and sorrow goes away (eventually), or diminishes over time.
@PlacidPenguin you would think so but that stuff is as fresh as can be. Doubt it goes anywhere anytime soon but I’m fine. Really I am.
Not the original question posed but how many shows do people watch regularly on television while in season (so not on DVR three years later or streaming service not branded as the tv channel itself)? I can think of one - Better Call Saul. If sports counts, maybe the number balloons to three.
@elimanningface Top of my head, I’d say all of them. You know how people do.
@elimanningface
I don’t subscribe to streaming services, and I don’t use the service which Amazon offers, even though they send me a reminder in the mail every few months.
Fall 2017 did not offer any enticing shows for me, and the few new shows which I considered, were cancelled either during their season, or last month.
Meanwhile, People of Earth, which was from the 2016 lineup, was cancelled a few days ago, even though in September it had been renewed.
Aside from Manifest, I have yet to find any new enticing shows which I would find interesting.
