I saw someone was on Jeopardy a few years ago. I applied a while back for Wheel of Fortune and finally got on. Talk about a bucket list kinda thing. Anyone else been on one?
I would love to be on family feud or the price is right. I would fucking rock at those shows. I just live to far and I have no reason to be in the taping area.
/showme Richard Dawson asking Family Feud questions to a team comprised of Star2236, therealjrn, kyeh, chienfou and kykazaa all dressed in matching plaid outfits and wearing fedoras.
@Star2236 Yeah, The Price is Right was my favorite.
I took an acting class once and they called me “Let’s Make a Deal” because I had a prop for everything in my bag. Still do.
I think I stood in line in for a game show once, but I didn’t win a ticket.
A high-school classmate of mine was on Wheel of Fortune and won ~40k maybe a decade ago. I was on academic challenge in HS, and a few times we appeared on the quiz bowl show on the public channel, that is as close as I get. Never made it trying for Jeopardy, and that is the only one I have.
technically yes? HS team trivia on public access cable. was’t all that great at it, always slow on the buzzer. fortunately had one girl on the team that had both the brains and the reflexes to carry the rest of the team
@Turken part of the application process asks if you’ve ever been on TV before…sadly, my response was yes, once in elementary school (1st grade maybe) I was on a local show in Atlanta called the Good Time Gang. It wasn’t a game show, but alas, I’ve used up my 30 minutes of fame
never i, but i know at least three people who’ve done well on jeopardy — most recently my puzzle teammate Paolo, who just clean-swept the Tournament of Champions this week
I was on the Bozo the Clown Show in the late 70’s. I won a Chuck-A-Luck game (basically, Craps for children. And my buddy won a giant bag of Skittles). So, yeah. I’m a TV star
edit - Who knew Skittles have been around for 50 years? They’re kind of my jam (that may or may not be a hint for my exchange match )
@capnjb I freaking loved Bozo as a kid. Were you in Chicago as well? Back then things were more local, so I know he was on there, but there may have been others around. I moved there in ‘83, just in time for the ‘85 Bears. Duh Bears!
@capnjb good luck tomorrow. Of all the places I have lived, I still have no teams in the freaking SB…so for me, i may watch the commercials, but I will be rooting for whoever is losing. Always like to see a close game.
@capnjb My sister had a “boyfriend” in 1st grade, and he appeared on a local TV show hosted by “Blinky the Clown.” Some years later, Blinky accidentally got caught cussing on air, and I think his show went away.
No, the closest I ever came was I worked with a guy who had been on the Rckie Lake Show.
@therealjrn A girl I knew in high school went on Jerry Springer. Not a game show, but it paid her rent that month.

@Star2236
I’m right there with you!

@chienfou Here’s the image you requested for “Richard Dawson asking Family Feud questions to a team comprised of Star2236, therealjrn, kyeh, ch…”
@mediocrebot
I think that’s the same guy the AI used in a ‘showme’ of me a few days ago. Weird!
@chienfou @mediocrebot Looks like it! Apparently I dye my hair blond for the show. Lol
@mediocrebot @therealjrn
@chienfou Looks like you & I are the only 2 it came close to getting right!

@cfg83

@kostia was on Jeopardy & got to meet Alex Trebek!
That’s true, I will forever be a Jeopardy Champion. Apparently it’s a lifetime title.
@kostia Very cool!

@kykazaa This was in the DC area. My mom was a miracle worker
@kykazaa That '85 defense was nuts. But I’m a Seahawks fan so I have an appointment with the couch and TV tomorrow evening
@capnjb good luck tomorrow. Of all the places I have lived, I still have no teams in the freaking SB…so for me, i may watch the commercials, but I will be rooting for whoever is losing. Always like to see a close game.
@kykazaa I should track my steps tomorrow. I will pacing like a crazy man
@capnjb @kykazaa
I’ve always said I’d rather see my team lose by three that win by 40!

@capnjb congrats on the win! Overall I thought it was a good game. First half made me think we would have a zero touchdown game
@kykazaa Thanks. I paced a lot and think I might have lost my voice at some point
Still processing everything
@kykazaa And it was a great defensive game! And I slept in my Lime Green Hawks hoodie
