8 1/2 hours in and they’ve sold seven units. I want to buy this but it’s not selling well. There is probably a reason for that. It seems that people aren’t seeing this as a deal.
I need a new (or refurbished) robot vac. The old one encountered and spread a pile of dog poop around the house. And in the process, stopped working.
I gave the dog away to some woman named Kristi Noem. I’m sure he is healthy and happy.
I have 2 eco bots and they both work great. Not perfect but really good. Both mop as well but I only use that one a week on one of them. Yes you can get off brand brushes, roller and bags for 90% less than the OEM products. Two thumbs up
I have a mix of hardwood and rugs so I would totally be in for this except that the refurb iRobot vac I bought years ago on Meh is still going strong and I can’t justify it to myself.
Unless of course I promote the iRobot to vacuuming the bedrooms upstairs which are all carpet, and get this one for downstairs. Hmmm.

@pakopako Ecovacs has a Home Assistant integration, so you can control it from there. You will need the app for setup to create a cloud account and initial setup. If you are looking for a cloudless solution this is not the droid you are looking for.
@pakopako Actually, the integration now supports an advanced self-hosted mode. I will have to change mine over to that. So if your willing to go down that rabbit hole, this might be the droid your looking for. Ecovacs Home Assistant Integration
Serious question, What happens if there is a disgusting malodorous mess on the carpet, like cat puke or dog diarrhea? Is it smart enough to avoid it? Can one power wash the innards? Are they basically meant to be consumable products?
I got a much older Deebot vacuum in an IRK back in the day that was broken, but for kicks I contacted their customer service and they replaced it (upgraded it, actually, since the model was no longer current). I gave it to the kids’ daycare provider since she’d mentioned wanting a robot vacuum and she said it was amazing… Until their new puppy left them a present in the middle of the night and the vacuum brought it everywhere. They opted not to try and clean it out of the entire machine
@werehatrack
Yeah, we kennel our dogs at night, but you most definitely need to do it when they’re puppies and apt to shit on the floor. Oh well. It cost me a few bucks and twenty minutes of effort to get it replaced under warranty, so I didn’t feel aggrieved by its premature shitty death
Ecovacs related to E Kovacs?

@Trinityscrew
What use is a dog that isn’t carrying it’s weight?
I’m sure the vacuum can eventually dispose of the dog.
@Trinityscrew She probably took
good care of itcare of it for good.I have 2 eco bots and they both work great. Not perfect but really good. Both mop as well but I only use that one a week on one of them. Yes you can get off brand brushes, roller and bags for 90% less than the OEM products. Two thumbs up
@bugger do you refer to them collectively as DEESBOTS?

I have the other deebot, and it has cheap brushes available, and the thing seems to perform nicely.

This is not the robot overlord I was looking for.

I have a Shark Robot Vacuum and I love it!
Does it need the app?

@guyfromhawthorn This is one of the reasons I wouldn’t have a robovac around animals that have access to the floor.
@guyfromhawthorn @werehatrack Seems like the better all-around solution is to not have indoor pets that shit on the floor. Works for me…

I waiting for a robot vac that takes commands from Alexa. You know eventually the vac will talk back.
