@JvB I’m right there with you. A couple of years ago, I picked up a Tineco (yet another “who the f*&^ is that?” brand) from Amazon, and it has enough faults for a tectonic plate boundary. I wish I’d spent more and bought a Shark, at least. Most of the cordless ones seem to have certain problems in common. One of them is small suction passages that won’t permit them to handle a small leaf or a quarter-sized piece of paper that a cat shredded and left under a chair. And as for actually handling scattered cat litter, you’d better hope the filter is freshly cleaned and the battery has a full charge - and that the high-power setting lasts long enough to get it all. They’re decent for cat hair, dust, and tracked-in dry dirt, but not a lot more.
@gfreek
It likely has 20% of a Dyson’s capabilities, in my opinion. I haven’t tried this specific one, but my experience with a similar one plus what I’ve read in reviews of many others leads me to believe there’s more than one reason why this one’s listed on a site that is known for selling stuff that bombed elsewhere.
I got one of these in an IRK. It barely has enough suction power to pick up the cat hair blowing around my hardwood floors, let alone scoop up anything embedded into carpet.
Are you buying it to look at, or to suck crap up off the floor and furniture? The answer to this question may help you decide where to position the wall mount, and whether the installation will need artistically pleasing illumination.
This is a good product, I grabbed one here last time it was up. BUT it definitely isn’t ideal for a room full of thicker carpet / shag carpet - from a head design or power standpoint. Very low pile carpeting is ok I guess - but it’s much better at hardwood & tile rooms, for messes, stairs, kitchens, under things, crevices, etc. It’s well built & designed, and versatile & handy.
@Commonwealth109
Does it clog immediately when it encounters a small leaf or shard of paper? My Tineco won’t reliably handle anything bigger than the size of a dime; the item gets stuck in any of several places, and the cat hair immediately forms a massive clog behind it.
Hmmm. I’m torn here. On the one hand, it’s $20 cheaper than any no-name Amazon alternatives and $50 cheaper than most Amazon cordless vacuums. @Commonwealth109 claims it’s a good one. Also, the other ILIFE things Meh has sold have been generally decent, even if the brand is just rebadged Aliexpress vacuums as far as I can tell.
On the other hand, @steelopus claims his is garbage. All of the reviews on Walmart seem extremely fake. All but maybe one of the positive Amazon reviews seem fake. All the Youtube videos are sponsored (and people don’t even mention that until several minutes into the videos!)
The Aliexpress reviews seem good, but 38 reviews on 125 orders is extremely suspicious. Worth noting that it’s also $78 or so on Aliexpress with coupons for those that want to save a few bucks and don’t mind waiting months.
From what I can tell if you buy it you have 3 possibilities: 1) it arrives broken or unusably weak, 2) it breaks later (after the 90 days and you’re SOL), 3) it works and survives for a while. A few of the Morningsave reviews said it was made cheaply with thin plastic parts that could break easily, so 2) is what really worries me most here.
I’m moderately tempted, but concerned about the flimsy plastic parts and that it might break after a few months. Hmmmmm…
@owenversteeg I am very happy with the quality - its just not as powerful as a full time corded vaccuum, especially for wall to wall carpets. It’s perfectly adequate for hard surfaces & touch ups, and is also great at getting under & around lots of areas that your regular vaccuum misses. It’s a good compliment to a primary vaccuum, not an all out replacement imo. I’ve also been able to throw away our “dustbuster”, this is higher quality than those dinky things (and obviously has nice extensions).

This sucker is a deal!
@yakkoTDI Prove it with a /buy, my midnight first post nemesis!
@guybrush01 I said it is a deal. I did not say it is a good deal. Besides, I have my Dyson for dirt sucking duties.
IRK!
@phelmurh
Nyet.
Dry January indeed
This thing sucks
You know what I consider good clean fun? A MEHRETHON.
This mehrethon sucks
@bugger Meh. I have just as good of a chance to get an IRK so it is normal for me.
Oh, and this is why people hate the northwest…
@guybrush01 As of 7:24 EST they’ve sold 19 of these. At this rate they’ll be selling a bunch during a Mehrethon for $40 bucks.
Cordless sucks
Would be better off using this
OH MY GOD THEY SUCKED GLEN!!!
It sucks, but will it run Windows?
If it ran Windows, would that make it suck more, or less?
I thought it was a very long electric toothbrush.
@awk
Ditto
Ok so the first half hour is jokes… but how does this compare to any of the Dyson cordless vacuums?
The puns are wearisome, especially when they’re generally not even funny.
#CrankyOldMan
@shiranissosexy read the amazon reviews for starters, and consider the fact that you’ve never heard of this brand…
@shiranissosexy checking Nope, we’ve all got our pitchforks out and demanding IRK blood.
Maybe try the 8 ball?
/8ball Will @shiranissosexy actually be able to get anything productive out of this thread?
Outlook not so good
@shiranissosexy Hmm, better luck next time. We have the Meh! home game for you! It’s kinda called “go to woot.com”, but you get the idea.
@robson @shiranissosexy
Unless you shop here…
@chienfou I bought that iLife robot vacuum here before… For the price, it does pretty damn well.
@haydesigner
Likewise. That’s how I was able to find the link, going back through my old orders…
“What’s included” list prominently fails to mention the floor unit that’s noted under “Multi-Reach” in the Details…
I don’t have enough confidence in this thing to pull the trigger…really wish I did.
I’ve been wanting a cordless vacuum for a while.

@JvB
I should have said “Most of the cordless ones from a brand you never heard of” up there.
@werehatrack appreciate the insight
…gonna stick with the old reliable cords…for now anyways!
The top of the line sharks pet pro and vertex are fantastic values when found in low $225 - $260 range.
I can get this cheaper than the price of a New OEM battery for my Dyson …Hmmm
@gfreek

I just bought a Black and Decker Power Series at HD for $99. We have pets and it works great.
I got one of these in an IRK. It barely has enough suction power to pick up the cat hair blowing around my hardwood floors, let alone scoop up anything embedded into carpet.
But the design is nice.

@werehatrack No, I haven’t had any clogging issues.

Is this vacuum cleaner as Bagless as January?
@OnionSoup
ISWYDT… Good one!
13 kpa is really not that impressive anymore.
Last thing I ordered was a meh shirt years ago. This better suck!
