@xterraguy Me, but only on sites like this that are slightly less ridiculous-priced. Or Costco sometimes when they have a promo discount.
I have a heater version that works very well too.
@xterraguy Me too. These things are great. I don’t have the one with the HEPA, but I have the same standard version of this size and use it every day. Also have a couple other sizes around the house. The design is great for small kids with tiny fingers.
I got the Cuisinart one in an IRK. Dead on arrival but took it apart to find the tech never connected the power supply to the circuit board. Best worst IRK ever.
That said, these things are literally just 90% molded plastic, a regular old fan, a circuit card (to power the unnecessary capacitive touch buttons) and a filter. There’s nothing here that justifies a pricetag beyond any other fan and filter. It’s like how they upsell “digital high def” TV anntenas to people who don’t realize it’s the same damned antenna.
I have a similar one that I got after our family took on a third cat. Two cats seems to the limit of my allergy medicine and the additional cat dander was too much. Because of this fan/air purifier, Walter the farting cat can continue to live with us.
Holy hell! That $380 fan “doesn’t meet California air cleaner regulation requirements, and cannot be shipped to California?” So my $90 Honeywell air purifier is superior bladed air cleaning technology? That over-engineered air purifier purifies air so poorly that California is like, “Nuh uh. That air you cleaned isn’t clean enough.” How does that even make sense? Did Dyson not grease the required palms?

This deal blows!
Bladeless fans are peak, Fans with filters is double peak. Fans during the winter, not so peak.
@AaronLeeJohnson Sorry old guy here; WTF is peak?
@AaronLeeJohnson @pmarin I assume it means ‘best’, as in, the peak of something.
@pmarin something you say when you ride a unicycle to your local craft brewery and own a collection of fedoras.
@AaronLeeJohnson It has an option to divert the air out the back for filtering without cooling.
@AaronLeeJohnson @pmarin
Blows (your wallet) clean
@pakopako That sucks.

(TP07 model; the Amazon comparison link says TP07C, not sure if it’s slightly different?)
tl;dr: it’s kind of mediocre, especially for the price point
(but if you’re looking for a bladeless fan anyway, maybe worth it?)
@agnesnutter TP07C is the Costco exclusive package. Ultimately it’s the regular TP07 with a couple extra filters.
Who the hell buys these ridiculously-priced fans???
@xterraguy Me, but only on sites like this that are slightly less ridiculous-priced. Or Costco sometimes when they have a promo discount.

@xterraguy Ridiculously-priced fan fans
@macromeh @xterraguy ridiculously priced ridiculous fan fans at that
@xterraguy

good gravy these things are expensive.
*not actually bladeless
Almost bought 3 of these until I saw it was $299.00 not $29.90. Great fan but no Bueno price.
I have a similar one that I got after our family took on a third cat. Two cats seems to the limit of my allergy medicine and the additional cat dander was too much. Because of this fan/air purifier, Walter the farting cat can continue to live with us.
@karlajoy love the name!
@xterraguy his kitty farts were AWFUL!
LOL, another 40CFM fan for $300. But at least it uses $50 proprietary filters.
Y’all are buying your friends $300 gifts?
“No blades”.
Give me five minutes with a screwdriver, and I’ll show you how well it works without blades!
Who knew that bladed fans were such the scourge on society that people would spend 2 or 3 times the price to avoid the those evil dust magnets?

@goldnectar Maybe it causes cancer in California.
@blaineg @goldnectar Between the roads, the fires, and the people, what doesn’t cause cancer in California?
