@Ignorant If people don't read the specs prior to purchase, they sure as hell won't be reading the comments in the thread before FREAKING out that they got "screwed" because: DC41 Frankenstein Accessories shipped in separate box and may deliver on different date
Copywriter is right about one thing: Dylan sucks live these days.
Or, least, he's too unreliable. Sounds like one show out of ten is okay.
Saw him last year. Funny thing is, four days later saw Leonard Cohen in the same venue. Difference was night and day. If I knew nothing about the two gentlemen, I'd swear Dylan was 107 and Cohen was in his late 20s (but smoked three packs of Camels a day, followed by a glass of gravel).
I used to Love Dyson, but after buying ridiculously thick carpet, I had to retire mine. They suck TOO hard and dig down into the carpet and can't move
After a lot of research, Miele ended up being one of the few vacuums that were worth owning, as it can adjust the depth of the brush AND adjust sucking power...
That said I did (still do in the basement) have this model and thought it did a very good job and thought it was worth the retail cost.
@jemullins ^------- this is unacceptable. Actually discussing the product attributes? The front page copy couldn't even do that after a feeble attempt.
@RedOak Wow, I apologize, you are right and I should probably flag myself... I am going to blame the fact that this is an irrationally emotional topic due to the stress of not being able to vacuum my house for almost 2months.
Really I should be furious that meh would have the audacity to throw this vacuum in my face like this.
It seems like you have a surplus of these vacuums. I used to work at a non-profit Boys and Girls club that is desperate for a vacuum. If you have a spare that you could donate they would greatly appreciate it. Send me an email and I could provide you the address. Their current vacuum has been nearly dead for a decade or more.
@Rstoker not to step on your selfless cause for posting, but the way meh works, it was Dysons "surplus" of refurbished vacuums that is now merely meh's inventory...
@Rstoker Have you considered writing into support with your question? I don't know what your chances are, but asking through support is much more likely than posting it on the forum.
Excerpt from Consumer Reports... The bagless upright Eureka Suctionseal Pet AS1104A (see photo), $160, continues the assault against Dyson that we've reported on before, this time claiming the Suctionseal is "proven to clean carpets better than Dyson DC25 and DC41 for less than half the price." The Dyson DC25 has been discontinued, but in our tests the Eureka Suctionseal and Dyson DC41 scored identically for deep-cleaning carpets—mediocre.
We got the 'Animal' the first time you had it for sale. Great vac, used daily in our dog dominated home. Amazing cleaing, Well worth every penny we paid for it!
Got mine in November by telling my hubby you said it was the last time it would be available - NOW this - so the next 24 hours I have to keep him from checking the site or you have some 'plaining to do, Lucy' for me. Or ship me some free meh socks again for the hassle I will get for the next 24 hrs.
Dyson's Rock and are top notch, but they are big and cumbersome. We use a small rechargeable vacuum daily and this beast comes out on weekends. I have all hardwood flooring with only a few area rugs so maybe that's why. If I had carpets I would be using this daily I guess.
@Stallion have you tried the Dyson cordless ones? I have the DC44 Animal procured from woot and it's a great vacuum. I would dare say Dysons are the most useful cordless due to the tremendous amount of power for its small size. The only downside is on mine, the brush head is designed for carpet and hardwood, which is a compromise that makes it nearly impossible to pickup Cheerios from hardwood, which should be a core test for a cordless or any vacuum IMHO. The new Motor-head $500 version is supposed to be excellent for Cheerios on hardwood, but man that pricetag...
@mehdaf I haven't tried the Dyson cordless, but a few of my siblings have it and love it. I bought a cheaper vacuum on a whim years back to see if we would like it and if it would do the job being cordless, and the darn thing won't die so the cordless Dyson is on the list, but has to wait. Agreed on the Cheerios test, that should be a task all vacuum's must pass. Haven't seen the new motor head version, must be sweet but I agree that price tag stings!
@mehdaf I was lucky enough to pick up a brand new Dyson V6 Motorhead from Target a few weeks ago on sale for $299. Best vacuum cleaner I've ever used and it blows my mind that it performs better than most corded vacuums. They've actually dropped the regular price to $399 now and I would gladly pay that much for it. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment with all hardwood floors and a few area rugs here and there, it's absolutely perfect for my needs.
I know people rave about these vacuums but like....we have a $60 Eureka pet vacuum I bought off Amazon 4 years ago and its still going strong. We have 3 cats and 2 boys under 4, we use the thing 3 to 4 times a week, only had to spend $12 on a new filter and replaced the belt once (which it came with a spare).
We'd be happy replacing the $60 vacuum every other year, but hell still going strong after 4!
Oh hey, a Dyson vacuum. Wait, where're the other pages that were on this site, like Home and Computers and Electronics?
I did type in www.woot.com, right? I mean, there's the expected crappy vacuum they put on the site every other day, but...it doesn't look the same as it did before.
Oh no, the scourge of Dyson has infected Meh! What happened, where there so many "refurbs" that Woot couldn't shill them off fast enough? This must be stopped now!
@meganbares The first post in every product thread is full of useful information - including the warranty coverage. Go to the top of the thread, click "Show more comments" and check out the Specs.
I picked up one of the Frankensteins from the last sale and it's been a godsend. My 1992 Electrolux kept up with two shorthair cats well enough, but it was no match for our new herd of huge longhairs. Our dark-colored rugs had a permanent pale haze that I could only remove with a shampooer, and I had to clean the chair pads with a wet washcloth. The new vacuum handles all of it.
The dustbin capacity isn't great, but it really doesn't matter. If things are really that dire, just take a trash can with you.
I'm especially impressed with the turbine tool. I'd assumed, I guess from having had a Sidekick as a kid, that rotating hand tools required power. Nope. That thing is air-powered, sensibly enough, and makes short work of gross furniture.
Spent too much time looking at reviews and missed out on the Frankenstein bundle. Happens EVERY. DAMN. TIME. I'm not impulsive enough for these deal sites. Ugh.
I was disappointed with this refurb. I was very excited to finally get a Dyson vac. Unfortunately, our Bissell (similar design) out performs this highend refurb.

This deal sucks!
I can't believe I stayed up for this, man I never learn.
@mehdaf saw you changed it lol said it sucks first hehe --that's ok we can all say it sucks
@mehdaf Hanging around here definitely brings lots of upset night after night.
@AttyVette I've found you don't get to be first on this site without a quick placeholder, so yes "manm" was not my intended post. :)
Sucks and it's a great vacuum...
@AttyVette Nobody has ever explained that, if it is so great, WHY is there an ENDLESS supply of refurbs??
@radi0j0hn wondering the same thing! hmmm....
This deal sucks?
Meh beat you IT Cross
@SydBeckman not my user name
fail
My stress units are constantly increasing because of Meh
Terrible! No one is even buying it. Lol!
Who buys this Dyson stuff - I thought Sharper Image went out of business.
@dogfloss Ah, Sharper Image, the SkyMall of the ground. Replaced by the nearly-identical-but-legally-distinct Brookstone
This vacuum will brush you off too
DC41 Frankenstein Accessories shipped in... Oh forget it.
@Ignorant If people don't read the specs prior to purchase, they sure as hell won't be reading the comments in the thread before FREAKING out that they got "screwed" because:

But it's a valiant effort!
I can't escape these damn dyson ads.

Yeesh, how many of these things did you guys buy?
@matapat

Shame on you meh.
Shame.

@Rstoker not to step on your selfless cause for posting, but the way meh works, it was Dysons "surplus" of refurbished vacuums that is now merely meh's inventory...
@mehdaf And meh seems to have more than they can sell. They've had these for sale at least a half dozen times in the past year.
@Rstoker Have you considered writing into support with your question? I don't know what your chances are, but asking through support is much more likely than posting it on the forum.
@Rstoker The best vac I've ever owned was found at a Salvation Army store for $10. A little creative scrounging may pay off.

I guess that's why it belongs on meh.com! 😕
@linkyarmer Yeah, but does it bend, weave and turn? Does it have pretty colors and a ball? Those are the real things we pay for.

@dsmgsx916 awesome to hear, thanks. Now to save my pennies...
This vacuum really sucks!
It is far from being a normal meh deal. Not meh.
can it be used on 110V and 220V?
BATH

@radi0j0hn Blonde and Dirty Blonde :P

Bought this in November to replace an aging Bissell. Love this vacuum and the bin is designed well so it's stupid easy to empty.
Love this thing so much I'd buy another one if I didn't already have one. Can I just buy the extra attachments I was too cheap to buy the first time?
Oh no, the scourge of Dyson has infected Meh! What happened, where there so many "refurbs" that Woot couldn't shill them off fast enough? This must be stopped now!
anyone see the warranty info?
@meganbares The first post in every product thread is full of useful information - including the warranty coverage. Go to the top of the thread, click "Show more comments" and check out the Specs.
@Thumperchick "Show more comments"? Can't say I've seen that button in many moons. Firehouse. VMP required to turn it on but not to leave it on.
@RedOak VMP is no longer required for it :)

@BoxingClever no problem. Wait a few months.
Amazingly relevant-- Sweeping up gunpowder with your Dyson.
@ozzallos mythbusters did this with a bunch of vacuums but none exploded, they did not feature the lit cigarette though!
Still processing my order? Not sure what sucks more Meh or the Vaccum! Oh and bring back the mystery bags!
@rob55431 The top post on every product thread is the specs post. This has all kinds of handy information for you, like estimated delivery dates!
Also:
The mystery bags (fuku!) haven't left... they just take their sweet time making an appearance.
