I’m baaaccck… miss me?
Was out of town Wed thru last weekend and been uber busy past few days at home and at work…

I was in Cincinnati to celebrate MY birthday SUNDAY. B-I-L had his on SATURDAY. Had a great weekend… Lots of great food and live music plus a distillery tour at New Riff.

We had a Siamese that would fetch wads of paper if you tossed them. She started out retrieving the pouches from the moist food we were feeding her (?Friskies?)when we threw them in the trash, then evolved to going after most any wadded up paper etc.

@chienfou @ircon96 We used to do that with a couple of our cats - we called them “paper mice.”

Fur babies are such individuals! My dog won’t even fetch a toy, a bone, a paper wad, a toilet paper tube, nothing. She won’t even catch anything like that if you toss it right to her, not even food, she’ll just let it hit her right in the face. She’s much more cat-like than any cat I’ve ever had!

Yeah, it’s funny how all of them have different traits and proclivities. Since all our ‘pets’ have been outdoor critters since early in our marriage Frisbees and balls were a big part of our dogs’ playtime, and the current kitty has a bunch of catnip filled mice to roll around with on the front porch. She is also having fun ‘stalking’ our feet by lying in wait under the plants in the gardens then pouncing on our feet/legs when we walk by. I’m trying to discourage her from doing that. My big concern with that is my 90 y/o Mom that walks over for lunch every day. I really don’t want her to trip and fall because of Bandit…

So far she seems to have some innate understanding that Mom is fragile/not a plaything…

@chienfou @ircon96 Oh, good. We once had a incredibly gentle cat (they could clean his teeth at the vet without sedation!) Some friends brought their little toddler over and she just lay down over him. He would have squirmed away if we did it, but he seemed to realize that she was a baby and he just tolerated it. They’re smarter than we realize, I think!

It’s about time Lizzo makes an appearance!

@ExtraMedium Way back when I was to help with Guster merch at a West Virginia show they were doing. Had a big snowstorm, it was iffy which bands would make it. On their way they stopped and did this set in an alleyway in Pittsburgh.
