Driving Game (Part 68)
3Welcome to the Meh Forum Driving Game!

Basic Rules
Connect a new song to the previously played song by name, musician, musical group, or concept. Try to use the format “Artist - Song Title” when possible. Avoid repeats, and do not make two plays back to back.
To avoid repeating past songs, it’s best to always do a quick search of the current thread as well as checking in the official Driving Game Cheat Sheet before making your play.

Started to the cheat sheet update for game 67 yesterday, then left it at work.
~Sigh~
Brian Hyland - Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini
Barenaked Ladies - Brian Wilson
@steeltoesenator love this song…years ago I played it on acoustic guitar at an open mic…but, sadly, I do not own orange shorts like those.
@januarymick I’m sure at some point orange shorts had to have been offered on this site,
Brian Wilson - Love and Mercy
Leonard Cohen - Sisters of Mercy
Marvin Gaye - Mercy, Mercy Me
Save Face - Mercy
Sisters of Mercy - Temple of Love
FWIW Cheat Sheet is now UTD thru game 67

Eyes Set To Kill - Darling
The Beatles - Oh! Darling
Prince & the Revolution - Darling Nikki
Camper Van Beethoven - Tania
@hap46st THIS may be a stretch but this track (about Patty Hearst) is from an album entitled "Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart "
@hap46st Pretty stretchy, but I found a bridge!
@hap46st i LOVE this album… grateful to have it on CD because it’s not always available to stream (for some reason).
@januarymick You can find the entire album on YouTube. I know that CVB frontman David Lowery (also of Cracker) has been a strong advocate for artists trying to get a just pay for the use/sharing of their songs.
@hap46st thanks for the tip…i figured that was at least part of the reason
/youtube Beethoven: Chorus for the Allied Princes
@Kyeh
Bravo!
@chienfou Thanks!
Jimmy Eat World - A Praise Chorus
Handel (Royal Choral Society) -Hallelujah Chorus
(feel free to remain seated)
/youtube Leonard Cohen - Hallelujah
I’m truly shocked this hasn’t been played before - I searched “Cohen” and “Hallelujah” and “Leonard” so I’m pretty sure I didn’t miss it.
@Kyeh
yeah, that is a (pleasant) surprise.
Though the John Cale version is in game 33
@chienfou I thought it would be k.d.lang if anyone else!
@chienfou @Kyeh Not the Rufus Wainwright version?
@chienfou @metaphore
k.d.'s is actually the one I’ve heard most often.
@chienfou @Kyeh I guess I’m the only one that’s watched Shrek too much.
@Kyeh @metaphore
guess you can tag @ircon96 and ask him!
@chienfou @ircon96 @metaphore
That would be her
@ircon96 @Kyeh @metaphore
d’oh… yes, ask her
@chienfou @Kyeh @metaphore Thanks for tagging me, guys. I’m going stir crazy in rehab for a broken femur so I’ll take any distraction! I’m thinking of blaming the goat for the first time ever cuz this is some bullshit! Anyway, i love Rufus & k.d., but the minute i heard John Cale’s version in Shrek, it became my all-time favorite. And, for the record, I’ve seen Shrek maybe a couple/few times, but it only took once.
@ircon96 @Kyeh @metaphore
awww…get better soon. Maybe if the wi-fi is any good you can hit the driving game some!!
@chienfou @Kyeh @metaphore Thanks. The fact that there’s any wifi is good, i suppose. I’m about to move to skilled nursing soon, the place is in the middle of nowhere, so hopefully the wifi will be adequate there! Even tho I’m not playing much lately, I’ve been following along, so keep up the interesting selections!
@ircon96
will do!
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man
Manchester Orchestra - Simple Math
/youtube The Shins - Simple Song
Jimmy Buffet - My Head Hurts, My Feet Stink and I Don’t Love Jesus
Bayside - Landing Feet First

England Dan and John Ford Colley - Just Tell Me You Love Me.
Rolling Stones - Tell Me
Axis - Rollin’ With Rhama
Rollin’ In The Hay - Me And Opie (Down By The Duck Pond)
Adele - Rolling In the Deep
It may be an obvious choice, but i can’t help it, i love me some OG Adele (especially in this version of the video).
@ircon96 I love her too!
@ircon96 @Kyeh super surprised this one hadn’t been posted yet
@ircon96 @metaphore There haven’t been that many Adele songs posted, I think.
Hah - just checked and there’s only 3 others - all posted by me!
Deep Purple - Sometimes I feel Like Screaming
AFI - A Deep Slow Panic
Widespread Panic - Chilly Water
Panic! At The Disco - I Write Sins Not Tragedies
Boney M - Rasputin
Did somebody say disco? I request special dispensation, since I’ve been wanting to post this song forever, but matching anything but the letter “M” in the group’s name is unlikely, at best!
@ircon96 @chienfou Oh, boy - things are getting very elastic here, but the Boney M video was definitely worth posting! You know Rasputin is a Meh staffer who shows up in the emails, right? Resurrected, or maybe he never really died?
@chienfou @Kyeh Guilty as charged! I did not know that about the emails, so i guess it’s even more appropriate…? Yeah, looks like he & Anastasia might just live forever!
Thin Lizzy - Whiskey In The Jar
/youtube Disco Lines - Restless Bones
Trying to bridge up all of the last three, kind of, with this strange bit of electronica.
@Kyeh Good job!
Alice in Chains - Them Bones
Fleetwood Mac - The Chain
Janis Joplin - Ball & Chain
Scott Joplin - The Entertainer
/youtube soft cell - entertain me
/youtube Marc Almond - The Days Of Pearly Spencer
Rats - it does play when you click through.
@Kyeh
OK, I’ll bite… what’s the connection?
@chienfou Marc Almond was one of the two members of Soft Cell. I thought about adding that note but it’s getting hard to get into the thread … hint, hint @ExtraMedium?
@chienfou @Kyeh Marc Almond was a member of Soft Cell.
@januarymick @Kyeh
TIL!
@Kyeh I got you. Enjoy your weekend!
@ExtraMedium Thanks!
