Driving Game (Part 65)
5If you’re new to the Driving Game, you can just look back at the start of it all here in Part 1 for the full rules.
Please consider the kind folks who maintain our cheat sheet and add your post in the format of “Artist Name - Song Name” followed by a link to the song on the next line. That way they all look the same and it’s easier on the Cheat Sheet team when it’s time to update that list.
Speaking of the Cheat Sheet… The full history of our game, with links to each of the past threads, can be found on the Driving Game Cheat Sheet. Use that to avoid getting vetoed by a duplicate.
Have fun!

This thread picks up from:
Alphaville - Forever Young
Neil Young - Ohio
Hawthorne Heights - Ohio Is for Lovers
/youtube Ohio Players - Fire
The Prodigy - Firestarter
Character Flaw - Fire From Sparks
The video mislabeled the song, but this is the only video for the song I could find. I was also at that show.
Sparks - Music That You Can Dance To
/youtube sparks - amateur hour
@mossygreen
thanks for the -
@chienfou I am capable of change!
@hap46st DUPE - already played (Game 57.)
Also not a real link? Sorry, just realized you’re new to this game, but connections are supposed to be to the words in the title or name of the artist(s).
@hap46st @Kyeh I know we have a link the original rules but I think it might be helpful if we had a short line saying something like “follow song with a common link to artist name, song title (or both) from previous song” just my thoughts…thanks to all that post the new games and update the cheat sheet!
@hap46st @januarymick I agree, especially because the original rules are in a thread that’s so full it’s almost impossible to open. @ExtraMedium, could a brief summary of the rules get added to the top? Thanks …
@januarymick @Kyeh
Thanks for your patience with me and for your suggestions
@hap46st
Here’s a quick recap of the basics:
Someone posts a music video and you have to follow up with a song, band, or musician tied to it. Example: I post Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal.
You could then post Michael Bolton, Jackson Browne, Outcast - Ms. Jackson, Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal, Fun Lovin Criminals…

Please post in the format:
Artist - Song title
(this makes keeping up the cheat sheet a bit easier)
The ‘cheat sheet’ is a text only list of previously played songs/artists. It’s OK to repeat a song title if it is being performed by someone other than the previous posted artist (or if the song title is a different song all together such as Stairway to Heaven… Neil Sedaka and Led Zeppelin both used that title for vastly different songs)
At any rate… enjoy and please continue to play --within those parameters if possible…
@chienfou @hap46st @Kyeh @januarymick I’ll write up an “official rules” post that can just stay locked but be an easy-to-read link, along with a condensed version and add a link to the full (and updated with our history) rules and keep the condensed version in each new thread. Seems like an easy and needed quality-of-life update going forward. I might not get it posted until this one fills up though. Thanks for the feedback.
@chienfou @ExtraMedium @hap46st @januarymick Perfect!
The Cure - A Thousand Hours
the Proclaimers - I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) corrected title
(that’s a half-thousand…)
@chienfou hap46st Also, the link isn’t always exactly to the words but sometimes to the concept, and then the footnote to explain is helpful. People don’t always accept those leaps of meaning, but it’s not meant to be taken too seriously; just a way to keep some structure in the game.
