Driving Game (Part 24)
2Original Explanation:
Basic Rules: Follow the posted music video with a different song, band, or musician tied directly to the previous post.
Example: I post Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal.
You could then post Michael Bolton, Jackson Browne, Outcast - Ms. Jackson, Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal, Fun Lovin Criminals…
Create a new comment for your submission and leave replies just to talk about the comment’s connection or validity.
You can veto if you don’t agree that there’s a connection. In that case, you can post your own connection to the previous song or @ the person you’re vetoing and tell them they need to make the connection clear or replace it. No hard feelings, either way, we’re just having fun sharing music. Note: If someone has already made a new connection to the song you want to veto, you missed your chance and the song stands. You can still let the person know where you found the problem and maybe they can clear things up.

@Ignorant Your first ever play in the game was Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and that was the last time they made the list. A shame really.
@ExtraMedium they have so much material too.

@llangley Veto challenge. Did you post too late after Brian Eno - Down By The River? The timestamps say 6 minutes before yours. What’s the connection?
@mike808 My apologies! It wasn’t there (or I didn’t see it)… And I’m not even drinking tonight!
@llangley @mike808 I’m guessing it was just an old-fashioned forgot-to-reload-page-before-posting. I’ve done it, like, twice. That I know of.
Okay, so here’s a merge -
Dennis Brown - Ole Man River
@Kyeh Well done, we can always count on you for the merge!

Supertramp - Bloody Well Right
I don’t know how peripatetic Amanda Lear is, but this could potentially be a double…?
@ircon96 I mean, its a stretch, but the lady was well-known in her day for liaisons with rock stars, so I’d be fine with it. Also, I love Supertramp.
@mossygreen Lol… I’ll take it, I’m not proud! I was trying to keep from using “tramp” in the promiscous sense, didn’t want to seem judgemental & all, but I’m perfectly ok with taking your word for it!
@ircon96 @mossygreen I’d never heard of her before; I looked her up and she’s had a fascinating life! Dali was kind of a jerk, it sounds like - I’m not too surprised.

@ircon96 She’s a goddess and transcends judgment.

@ircon96 @Kyeh That was a nice article about her, thanks! George Orwell ruined Dali for me when I read a book of his essays (about 30 years ago, I’d guess–dang). I don’t remember the exact phrasing, but he basically wrote that Dali had skill but not genius, so to be successful he embraced outrageousness and notoriety. Since then, every time I see his stuff, part of me thinks HE JUST WANTS ATTENTION. Also he apparently was super into Hitler?
@ircon96 @mossygreen Hitler?
I didn’t know about that. But I think Orwell described him perfectly!
@mossygreen Duly noted! Lol… But seriously, she sounds fascinating, i can’t wait to read up on her, starting with the article @Kyeh linked!
@ircon96 @mossygreen Too late for me to officially link this, I think it’s a nice redefinition of “tramp!” And I know Lady Gaga did it most recently, but Ella just rules:
Frank Sinatra ft. Ella Fitzgerald - The Lady Is A Tramp
@Kyeh @mossygreen A side post featuring Ella is always welcome!
/youtube Free - Wishing Well
/youtube terrence trent d’arby wishing well
@mossygreen You read my mind! I was THISCLOSE to posting this one, but i figured I’d give it a little while to see what else might pop up. I’m glad it was this gem after all.
@ircon96 It’s a classic!
Tent Reznor & Atticus Ross - Just Us (from the “Soul” soundtrack)
/youtube Beatles : Two of Us
Joan Osborne - One of Us
@ExtraMedium I love that song.
Could you please start a new thread?
