Basic Rules
Connect a new song to the previously played song by name, musician, musical group, or concept. Try to use the format “Artist - Song Title” when possible. Avoid repeats, and do not make two plays back to back.
To avoid repeating past songs, it’s best to always do a quick search of the current thread as well as checking in the official Driving Game Cheat Sheet before making your play.

Picking up from:

This may be my all time favorite of hers.
/youtube Amy Winehouse - Love Is A Losing Game
Frog Leap Studios - What Is Love (metal cover by Leo Moracchioli feat. Priscila Serrano)
Leo Kottke - Busted Bicycle
/youtube the bonzo dog doo-dah band - busted
Joe Cocker - With a Little Help From My Friends
@chienfou
Huh? I’m not seeing the link.
@chienfou @Kyeh Yeah, got me too. I think this is going to get a veto.
@chienfou @Kyeh Wait…is it the intro music for both?
@chienfou or is it the bonzo dog, cocker as in cocker spaniel?
@chienfou @steeltoesenator That’s a hell of a jump. Spaniel is the breed, cocker is a subtype. I don’t know that I’ve ever heard anyone say they own a cocker when referring to a dog, but I don’t have many friends with spaniels these days either.
@chienfou @ExtraMedium @steeltoesenator
I thought maybe it’s because they’re both about drugs?! Although I’m not sure the first one is? If it’s that hard to figure out I say it’s a veto - but STS has gone ahead and linked to it - so .
Oh, yeah - the intros are similar…but the original rules say it should be obvious in the artist-title since supposedly you’re in a car without access to all the music and videos.
@ExtraMedium @Kyeh @steeltoesenator
Sorry I crashed and took a nap after my PT session.
Yes it was the cocker/dog connection, and I had meant to put it at the bottom of the post and totally forgot.
FWIW everyone I know that owns a cocker spaniel just refers to it as a cocker. They seem to be the most common spaniel breed I think.
Thanks STS for playing thru it!
Just for the hell of it I googled “cocker”… all I got back was a bunch of information about cocker spaniels… never even saw anything about Joe Cocker (which I find shocking and distressing!)
@chienfou @ExtraMedium @Kyeh @steeltoesenator On a side note, I can confirm that cocker is the breed, further divided into American & English varieties (I’ve watched a lot of dog shows, and yes, I’m a dork. Moving along…). But I think the most apt factoid is that a documentary about Joe was called, “Mad Dog With Soul”… coincidence, chienfou?
@ExtraMedium @ircon96 @Kyeh @steeltoesenator
Joe is my spirit animal!
@chienfou @ExtraMedium @Kyeh @steeltoesenator I thought so!
Barney - People Helping Other People
Beatles - Help!
Grateful Dead - Help On The Way/ Slipknot!
Paul Simon - Slip Slidin’ Away
Oasis - Slide Away
/youtube Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks-How Can I Miss You When You Won’t Go Away
@Kyeh one of my favorite lines. Right up there with “the weather is here, I wish you were beautiful”. RIP Jimmy
@Kyeh @llangley
And “if I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?”
@chienfou @llangley I was happy I got a chance to post that song. I’ve been tempted to post it in other threads sometimes!
Hoobastank - Running Away
Van Morrison - Come Running
Candi Staton - Young Hearts Run Free
@ircon96

@chienfou Oops, thanks!

Them - Here Comes The Night (ft. Van Morrison)
Spanish Love Songs - Here You Are
The Irish Rovers - Irish Whiskey Song
Ray Charles and Willie Nelson - Seven Spanish Angels
Oops, too late!
@steeltoesenator I think you would have been okay linking Irish --> Spanish. Bigger leaps have been made!
@ircon96 @steeltoesenator
after all… That’s what I had done (the opposite direction).
@chienfou Oh, ok… i thought you were linking “song(s)” but figured either would work!
@ircon96
d’oh… hadn’t even noticed that!
Noel Coward - Mad Dogs And Englishmen
@chienfou repeat from game 75
@januarymick
Well, crap, and I even played it!
Didn’t check since I just knew it was obscure enough to have NOT been played yet!
/giphy d’oh
Lukas Nelson - Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground
Jonny Lang - Irish Angel
I was confused about which song to play off of so I did both.
@steeltoesenator A bridge!
The Dubliners - Whiskey in the Jar
U2 - Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own
Link: U2 is from Dublin.
@ircon96
@ircon96 U2’s version of “Whiskey in the Jar” was previously used.
@mml666 Phew, I’m glad i didn’t try playing that, then! Lol
@ircon96 @mml666
compiling the cheat sheet and found this re U2… can you give me a game reference for that? I can find a metallica and thin lizzy post but not a U2 onewhen I search…
David Naughton - Makin’ It
@steeltoesenator I didn’t know the song but the name seemed familiar to me…this guy was in one of my favorite movies, “American Werewolf in London”…haha!
@januarymick yeah, I’m aging myself here, he also had a cheesy tv show in the 70’s called “Makin’ It”.
As an actor he was far better in Werewolf.
@januarymick @steeltoesenator Ah, but his finest moment was surely his Dr. Pepper commercial! He wore a vest for god’s sake!
/youtube david naughton dr. pepper
@januarymick @mossygreen @steeltoesenator Wow, talk about nostalgia!
David Bowie - Eight Line Poem
Johnny Tillotson - Poetry in Motion
John Parr - St. Elmo’s Fire (Man In Motion)
/youtube Ric Ocasek - Emotion In Motion
Billy Squier - Emotions in Motion
@januarymick It’s funny, the titles are almost the same but the songs couldn’t be more different.
@Kyeh True! I was going to play this one anyway and when you played yours, I thought this would be kinda funny…similar song titles happen sometimes.
Procol Harum - Perpetual Motion
Richard Kiley - The Impossible Dream (The Quest)
Richie Havens - Here Comes The Sun
Richard --> Richie
Grateful Dead - Here Comes Sunshine
Jimmie Davis - You Are My Sunshine
Spencer Davis Group - Let Me Down Easy
Electric Light Orchestra - Don’t Bring Me Down
3 Doors Down - One Light
Yay! A double.
Twenty One Pilots - Stressed Out
Posted during a PT session…
Barenaked Ladies - One Week
Moved on to Part 103!
I’m starting to think we might need a new system for this since it’s a bit non-stop now.
@ExtraMedium And a system to automatically update the Cheat Sheet.
@ExtraMedium @mml666
If someone can figure a way to do that I would be most grateful. In the meantime I’ll try to get the last couple posted tomorrow. I thought I had already posted 101 but evidently I didn’t…
