Driving Game (Part 10)
4ExtraMedium’s original explanation:
Basic Rules: Follow the posted music video with a different song, band, or musician tied directly to the previous post.
Example: I post Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal.
You could then post Michael Bolton, Jackson Browne, Outcast - Ms. Jackson, Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal, Fun Lovin Criminals…
Create a new comment for your submission and leave replies just to talk about the comment’s connection or validity.
You can veto if you don’t agree that there’s a connection. In that case, you can post your own connection to the previous song or @ the person you’re vetoing and tell them they need to make the connection clear or replace it. No hard feelings, either way, we’re just having fun sharing music. Note: If someone has already made a new connection to the song you want to veto, you missed your chance and the song stands. You can still let the person know where you found the problem and maybe they can clear things up.

@mike808 Great - thank you!
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
/youtube sort sol lydia lunch boy/girl
So no one has to do research, Sort Sol apparently means black sun in Danish.
@mossygreen So no one has to do research, apparently that’s quite a stretch just to get a Lydia Lunch song in.
Prince & the Revolution - Girls & Boys
Arcadia Grey - Moshpit Girlfriend
So @mossygreen doesn’t have to do research, apparently “moshpit girlfriend” translates to “your mom” in the Urban Dictionary.
Abba - Mamma Mia
@mike808 Research is the worst, isn’t it?
Aerosmith - Mama Kin

SWMBO got a copy of a game called Spontuneous a few days back. It is similar to this game but with a few twists. It’s a blast to play for up to 10 players. If you’re a song lyric nerd it’s really cool to see what everyone comes up with.
@chienfou
Damn it I hate doing this on my phone
Here’s a link for the game
@chienfou this sounds really great…I have a friend we just send random lyrics back and forth…just for fun.
@januarymick
It really is a blast. Works for different age groups and different genre proclivities. Plus having the board game aspect means that even if you can’t come up with lyrics for someone else’s song, you can still progress very well. Some of the “cleft cards” are truly evil! The pressure of having to come up with lyrics competitively in under 15 seconds is something that keeps the game moving along rapidly and also creates a lot of hilarity.
We played this recently during a family reunion with up to three generations playing at one time. It was actually very very fun. Especially if you’ve been drinking.
Of course, as always, YMMV
@chienfou @januarymick In the last episodes of Ozark (Netflix series, excellent), Ruth has a flashback to her and her cousin playing a game where one person gives a lyric and the other has to name the artist and album.

OK Go – The One Moment
If you haven’t seen them, I highly recommend checking out the OK Go youtube channel and watching all of their videos. The songs are great but the work put into the videos is on a whole new level.
@ExtraMedium agreed! had the chance to see them live a few years ago…they did a Q&A after every couple of songs…they actually had a screen on stage and performed while their videos were playing…really fun band.

@januarymick Might be a repeat. But great tune nonetheless.
