Another vacuum. If you’re selling out of these each day, Meh mehmbers must have the world’s cleanest floors… Although, since we’re all heavily armed with knives, no one would dare drop mess on our floors anyway.
I don’t have this, but I do have a Dreamer d9 robotic vacuum, which sees heavy use - we live on a dirt road with 7 people and 2 dogs. It’s been more than 2 years now and this thing works so well that I would have been happy if it died after one. I would recommend the brand. It’s smartly made.
@werehatrack@yakkoTDI Yeah the name starts with “D” and the ridiculous(?) retail price of $400 puts it up there with the real “D” brand, but for an unknown clone even the Meh price is kind-of, um, Meh.
@pmarin I really like what China is doing in vacuums – this brand is along the same tier as Roborock which is known to be a leading performer in robot vacs (and also wet/dry vacs). There are definitely less reputable China brands out there, but this is one of the good ones.
@pmarin@troy At least it appears that Dreame is a real manufacturer and not just Yet Another Stick-On Label the way that so many products from China seem to be. And they have some backing from Xiaomi, one of the heavy hitters over there.

By the way it is in stock at Amazon for 289.99 (found that by clicking above on Amazon in the description). And there is an additional $50 off on that page too. Of course meh is still way cheaper but accuracy is nice. 4 star on Amazon.
@Kidsandliz That’s for the Dreametech P10 which is $240 at Dreame’s own site. Amazon was showing $350 for the T30 as of Friday, but has since ran out of stock and the original ASIN reverts to the inferior P10 (not sure why Amazon does this sometimes… it’s annoying!)
@troy All I did was click on the word Amazon above so you might want to fix that link there and then delete my comments and yours. Or if it won’t go to the out of stock one then remove the Amazon link completely.
@Kidsandliz@troy I’ll add that to my list of things that Amazon does that are annoying.
At the top are issues with their search non-function, their mixing of reviews over products that are not unique, their discontinuance of comments on reviews, the non-availability for re-download of digital items already purchased, their yo-yoing of prices of items already in your cart, … .
@phendrick@troy Never knew Amazon did that kind of crap. I seldom buy anything so don’t run into some of the apparent issues just mentioned. But that is way out of line for them to do that kind of stuff. Now I get why @troy had to change it to the CamelCamelCamel link.
@Kidsandliz I’ve seen way too many Amazon product review lists with not only entries for entirely different items, but entirely different sellers as well.
And don’t forget the recent addition of ads to Prime video.
Hadn’t actually noticed that (not sure if it’s because i’m more likely to use Prime for music than for videos or because my brain has evolved to auto-tune-out ads, due to excessive free YouTube).
All of these stick vacs are rebrands of rebrands. I’ve tried 6x now and they’re literally all the same performance. Just buy the cheapest model or buy a name brand
@breeze2323 I made the horrible mistake of buying a Tineco about 4 years ago, and while it worked okay, the tiny little itty bitty filter would clog up before the battery ran down, and their method of “cleaning” it merely transferred the dust from one filter to another. Eventually, I got really annoyed with it, and bought a Ryobi. I had lots of Ryobi batteries already, the filters take a very long time to clog, and the collection container is big enough that I don’t have to empty it every 15 or 20 strokes across the carpet.
The next thing I’m going to do is get rid of the carpet altogether at some point, because with this many cats, it’s really more work than it’s worth.
@pjlukin@yakkoTDI I have learned by sad experience that anything bearing the model name T10 is best avoided. Ditto for A10 unless it’s an actual Warthog. (The Tineco stick vac I bought was a T10. Not great.)
Anyone else get theirs yet? I’m curious if you got yours charging successfully. Already sent a support request, but would prefer this not get trashed if there is a fix (and it didn’t sound like I would be able to get a replacement)
Plugging power in to the vacuum directly or trying to charge through the dock shows no activity on the battery (it’s supposed to light up white when charging). When pressing any buttons on the vac the screen shows “the battery runs out”. Reseating the battery didn’t help

@OnionSoup We’ve got to vacuum up all the stale food crumbs.
@Kyeh @OnionSoup get a dog. Then no crumbs to worry about. Cats, at least mine, are less reliable about that. Some crumbs for them are viewed as toys.
I dream of never having to vacuum again. (or clean, do laundry, do dishes, wash the car, do yard work…).

Looks like a rebranded Dyson.
@yakkoTDI The battery/handle certainly looks as such, but not the motor housing.
@yakkoTDI There are dozens of Dyson lookalikes coming out of China, with very non-Dyson capabilities.
@werehatrack @yakkoTDI Yeah the name starts with “D” and the ridiculous(?) retail price of $400 puts it up there with the real “D” brand, but for an unknown clone even the Meh price is kind-of, um, Meh.

This deal sucks in so many ways and sizes.

@Kidsandliz I’ve revised it to link to the CamelCamelCamel link. Reviews with keyword “T30” can be found here

I just got the T10 a week ago, why are you doing this to me
@pjlukin You know what you did to deserve this.
@pjlukin @yakkoTDI I have learned by sad experience that anything bearing the model name T10 is best avoided. Ditto for A10 unless it’s an actual Warthog. (The Tineco stick vac I bought was a T10. Not great.)
@pjlukin @werehatrack @yakkoTDI Well played on the Warthog! Not every day that gets worked into a thread!

@SkyyPunk Got a replacement power adapter and everything works great!
Anyone able to remove the filters? I am stymied
