Serious inquiry: would something like this work on a human ? Like the clipper+vacuum portion specifically. It would be nice to cut hair with minimal clean up…
@seespotbark short answer is yes! Charliedoggo has a similar set up and someone came over needing sideburns touched up. I pulled it out and zoom, zoom finished. Did a good job and no mess because of the suction
@bass_pumped my old Nintendo portable gaming system doesn’t shed much.
Seriously it should work on cats but depending on how loud it is cats may not like working with it. Ya know the whole cats-n’-vacuums thing. Some may not mind.
EDIT was worried about sound if it was a cheap plastic loud vacuum, for either me or cats. Assuming this spec is even slightly true, might be good: Whisper-Quiet Magic, Lasting Performance: Designed for pets, <60dB operation maintains tranquility.
@bass_pumped@pmarin Our cat considers all vacuums, running or not, to be Super Frightening Patented Cat Brain Extractors. This device would be unacceptable within a 150 yard radius…
@bass_pumped@MrNews@pmarin One of my cats would let me vacuum him during shedding season but he hid his head in my elbow and clearly wasn’t happy but tolerated it (this is the same cat who would walk in a bath tub full of water getting soaked so likely not a normal cat ). The other one vanished into a different dimension the second I turned the thing on.
I see that this is specifically for dogs. Would this work for other canines? Do they have to be “pets”?
I’m about to do something potentially very stupid here and I need some guidance, specifically from people who have questionable taste in consumer items.
@iSlack I slack too. And it comes with a cord, though it’s conspicuously absent from all the product photos. Looks like it wraps around the bottom where the hose is.
My little shedders HATE vacuums. Even the Miele I got specifically because it’s quiet. But this one is rated potentially 8-10dB quieter, which is significant. I’m not sure they would let me use it on them though.
It would be really nice to catch a lot of the shedding at the source.
We just bought one of these off Woot and are pretty impressed. For anyone on the fence, this thing is a miracle with our Aussie/Bernese/Collie mix. He’s even comfortable with it by his ears, where our doggie blow dryer never gets to tread.
Curious, this seems like a retrofitted SpotBot, albeit with a much quieter motor. Would really like a video demonstrating the volume compared to human speech.
OMG and darn - I paid a lot more for mine back when, but it is a wonderful tool. I have a collie dog. I used to have to clean the whole tv room after grooming. Now all that hair is in the hair container. (It’s not as loud as a regular vac.)
The comments here sold me on this. Hopefully it will work well on my long haired pup who sheds like crazy when the seasons change and requires me to use a special brush on my shirts before I leave the house daily.

You joke about the baby but this feels like a market that doesn’t suck.

@seespotbark You mean the Flowbee!

@seespotbark @yakkoTDI So glad you brought up the Flowbee, because I could not remember the name of that thing!

@seespotbark When my husband was having surgery they used something very similar to shave his chest hair.
Do it work on llamas?
@chiefbugbung or goats??
I got the icon ! can’t believe my (mis)fortune.
I’m so in. Our dogs need this.

How about cats? Anyone try it on a cat? I got a DS that seems to shed a lot. Will it help?

@bass_pumped @Kidsandliz @MrNews @pmarin One of my cats got somewhat deaf when he was old, and he really liked being vacuumed!
Seriously might get to use on me. In human or goat form. Don’t want to ask where the crevice attachment should be used.
What’s this Meh face supposed to be? It should have been a little dog face!
@Kyeh Hmm… a human with part of their brain sucked out so they’d buy the deal?

@Xtoff whatever you are planning to do make sure it is done on someone 18+ so DHS doesn’t try to suck the life out of you in return.
Is there a battery? Is it cordless? Does it come with one?
@iSlack From A’zon link:

@djslack it really is super quiet. My noise paranoid dog didnt mind at all!
We never had a pet that would stay in the same room as a vacuum cleaner while it’s running. Turning it on creates a hasty exit.

@oxling Is the volume as low as the description claims?
@AROAH @oxling yes!!
@AROAH https://photos.app.goo.gl/hQ1Gng4hJWeRFPmQA if Meh will let me post it, here you go
@oxling Awesome! Thank you!
MEALS! DEALS! EELS! AWESOME!

@AROAH Did you read oxling’s post (just above)?

Did anyone else come here for the suck cut comparison? I’m mildly surprised no one has said it so far. Maybe I missed it.
