Does anyone shop with Wayfair?
2Ok, this is just a general question. Has anyone shopped with Wayfair? If so, what for? And what are your general opinions and/or complaints about this seller? Did anyone have shipping issues/damage, especially with furniture?
Just looking to hear your invaluable feedback.

Here’s the last thread we had:

Maybe we can get more of a response this time.
@Barney Ah, thanks. I never saw that one. Or perhaps I don’t remember it as I can’t remember what I had for breakfast yesterday.
I would think some people here would have something to say as this company sells over a billion dollars a year of goods. But, I have never dealt with them before.
@mfladd We have so many threads now, it’s impossible to keep up with them all. (I don’t know anything about Wayfair.)
@Barney thank you, you save me searching and or typing time
I’ve bought some relatively minor items from them (not, say, furniture), and not had any issues.
I’ve never shopped there. My co-worker has bought several chairs from them and been very pleased.
One time something I needed was available cheaper on walmart.com which in turn was sold by wayfair and it showed up and was new in good condition.
So the only time I’ve ever dealt with them it was good… but it might have been the walmart effect (aka the amazon effect when a seller will bend over backwards to stay in good graces of the big retailer that gave them the order).
I window shop there and find every single item cheaper somewhere else. They seem to have a few ‘associated’ sites like allmodern.com
The wife bought a bench for our closet from Wayfair. It arrived with a crack in the molding and was easily fixable. She called to report it and we were sent another bench at no additional charge and were told to either donate or toss the original bench. I fixed it and “donated” it to our upstairs living room. Boom.
I noticed them when shopping for some patio furniture a few weeks ago. They had some really good prices, but it turned out that all the really good prices were on the colors that were out of stock, and the colors that were in stock were usually hundreds of dollars more. It struck me as possibly shady. I wondered if the colors were sold out because they were cheaper, or if they marked down sold out items to show a better price in Google shopping and then would increase the prices when stock was replenished.
I also noticed that they operate several sites as different brands, and some of those sites had better pricing than others. So when you find an item you want, Google the model number to compare across their sites.
I’ve spent around $1500 at Wayfair, though I haven’t purchased any furniture.
We were refinishing our basement, and decided to relocate the bathroom. I purchased a medicine cabinet, toilet, corner shower enclosure (base, walls and glass doors), and a ventilation fan.
All the smaller items, including the toilet shipped FedEx/UPS (can’t recall which, as it was over a year ago). The shower shipped freight, and showed up two weeks after placing the order.
I’d say the only real issue I had, which seems to be pretty common regarding freight shipments coming from Wayfair, was the general lack of communication regarding shipment/arrival times. However, I can’t really complain because 14 days isn’t bad, and everything showed up perfectly intact, and I’d say the bathroom turned out just fine
I bought a book sling from them. They were fine.
I would, but they don’t have what I need.
/image see what I did there
we found this really cool glass door book case and ordered it through the approved company vendor. it was back ordered and then cancelled. I couldn’t find it on Amacrap (no really). Jet listed it, tried twice there, (same thing different name) both times cancelled. They couldn’t tell me if any of their suppliers really had one or not.
Found it on Wayfair. They told me exactly how many they had left, it was there in a couple days. It wasn’t fancy high quality stuff, but then for that price I didn’t expect it.
So I would rate it positive that they knew what their suppliers actually had in stock
I normally shop Wayfair to find ideas…I love there product selection-very my style. But I do not have decorating talent so I browse their site for ideas. If I see something I "must have, " I note their price and then bargain hunt! I’ve never actually purchased from them because I’ve found comparible for less. Or I realize that I love and desire the product, they are competively prices…but still more than I want to pay!
Uhh-Uhh, What the…? Is this thing on ??
Yes I ordered a sectional from them last summer. Worst experience ever. They sent the “wrong facing” chaise part of the sectional, and then sent same one twice more. THREE times I received the wrong part. And first time it happened they were sooo sweet and apologetic and gung ho to get this fixed etc, then slowly became harder and harder to get a hold of, get emails from etc. Horrible experience. And it took 3 weeks in between each time that wrong one arrived to get the “correct” one. Because it was shipping from the warehouse wherever. And I never got any sort of “we’re sorry here’s 50% off next time” or anything like that.
I ordered some fake plants and 1 side table from them before. Plants were both damaged upon arrival (shipping damage), but they were very responsive in getting them replaced. Side table was fine.
Too expensive, not sure why people are dancing in the commercial.
I Wayfair. You get what you pay for, so if you but cheap furnitire, you get cheap furniture. That said, I purchases a headboard/footboaed/frame for my spare bedroom and one of the screws stripped. Not only did they refund my money they sent me a WHOLE NEW BED and told me to do what I wish with the other one.
Great customer service.
I bought our crib, change table, and dresser set from wayfair. Shipping was free, I got a bunch of cash back that I never used, and all of the furniture was in good condition. It was the one rare occasion I found it on wayfair for the cheapest price.
I recently bought a sofa and loveseat set for an amazing sale price. After a huge 2 month debacle of shipping delays (ordered close to Christmas), and the loveseat getting lost in transit they sent a new set free of charge. We now have an extra brand new sofa that we were told to donate or keep. Other small things I’ve ordered (shower curtain, etc.) arrived quickly with no issues. Even with the loveseat saga, I’m a happy customer. You do have to compare prices with other retails if you want to be smart about it, but things get marked down from time to time. Also pay no attention to the “Only X left in stock!” It doesn’t appear to mean much.
