No piercings, no tattoos, no body mods without wanting them for at least a full two years. I’m smart enough to realize how fickle my preferences are. Also, seeing how often even my paper cuts get infected, it likely would end with puss oozing forth from the wound. Not very fun.
I sometimes wear my earrings for years at a time. Occasionally I’ll put in different earrings, but the ones I wear are so comfortable I hardly ever notice them.
@RiotDemon I notice mine most when I want to fidget with something. Other than that, I wash them in the shower and leave them alone for months at a time.
People should only wear earrings when it’s who they are and if it symbolizes something for them, not because it’s “pretty” or because of society’s pressure. Because fuck society, man.
Rarely (like 20 days a yr), and when i do half the time it’s been so long i might have to break through a tiny layer of skin or something that formed in the hole. Takes almost no effort but definitely weird feeling.
I used to wear earrings every day until I started working for a manufacturer where you can’t wear earrings on the plant floor (or rings, necklaces, any jewelry). It got tiresome taking them off every time I had to go to the plant and then putting them on for the office. I just stopped wearing them all together.
I’m not sure how the topic came up, but way back when I was first dating my wife (decades ago), I remarked “Even though we take it as ‘normal’ behavior now, don’t you think the first person who decided to jab an extra hole in his/her ear and put a piece of jewelry in it was probably deemed a little crazy by his/her peers?”
She was positively incredulous. “Uh, no. What are you talking about? Sure, the first person that got a lip or eyelid piercing had to be crazy. but not the ear. That is tasteful”. I pointed out that even though piercings were commonplace in centuries gone by, they were almost non-existent in western culture in the first half of the 1900’s. She just shook her head at me and rolled her eyes like I was an idiot.
there needs to be an answer for “yes, all the time.”
i have gauged lobes (pierced at 6ga, at my biggest they were 1/2" but have been down to ~0ga for ages now) - i wear stainless steel spirals which i only take out in the shower to wash them. i just prefer all stainless steel jewelry so i don’t ever buy or wear different pairs anymore. when i was younger i had different pairs but i was always losing one (or shattering the glass ones) so once i found these that i liked, no reason to look elsewhere. (actually did buy some cute acrylic ones a year ago but they would work themselves out of my ears like nothing i’d experienced before and broke in two places after one four foot drop onto a wood floor so…eff that. never again.)
i also have a five point industrial in my right ear and a four point in my left. those i cannot remove on my own.
@jerk_nugget I have 00g i dont like the metal ones I like the silicone one not the eye let’s or ear skins those just fall right not but the little thicker ones
yes…every day…had my first piercing when I was 7 and have had both ears pierced 2 more times since then and one ear with a 4th…dont leave the house with out them…like leaving naked…lol
Three piercings in my left ear, five in my right. I just had one in each ear until I was 35, and then I had a mid life crisis. I’d never get a tattoo, but I wanted to distinguish myself from the baby boomers. Ten years ago I started just using the highest ones on each side with small gold huggies and the primary spot I change regularly (meaning I wear only two in each ear) Strangely enough, two weeks ago I opened up all the holes again and am wearing small gold huggy hoops in all of them. Time for some new earrings, I’d say.
It’s a no. For me, those are just intended for women since they are the one’s who are very conscious with their selves and earrings are part of their so called jewelries. But there are also men who used to have one either on their left or right ear. They said its fashion man, but I’m not really fond of it. I just want to be simple though.
There wasn’t a simple “No” answer.
@cengland0 agreed
Where is just plain “No”?
@SSteve Here it is…
/giphy plain no
No, nope, nada.
Ummmmmm… No.
I wear plain small hoops, two in each ear- don’t usually ever take them out. I also have a labret and a lip ring.

That very small ear hole is for picking up ultrasonic frequencies.
I was hoping it was really three earrings. I was going to split a purchase 2:1 with my friend we call “Van Gogh.”
Oops. I meant to post this on the product thread. I may go ahead and do that. If this one gets deleted, I’m cool with that, @thumperchick.
One of these days…

No choice for, “No, never, nada, nothing, zilch, zip, bupkis.”
No.
Never.
When/where I grew up, guys didn’t do that crap.

@rhrgrt exactly what i do!
I rarely take any of my earrings out. When I do, it’s to swap in a slightly different earring for the next 10 months.
Add me to the unlisted never column
Did for a while PITA. And they got caught in my hair and didn’t agree with my skin. So quit.
@f00l that’s why I wear

There was only one pair of earrings I ever wore daily, until I lost one of them. I had a sad and now rarely wear earrings.

I used to, but only one.
Real men, born 1950 and before, don’t wear earrings, but I have no problem with those who do.
@JoeSeadog, agreed. of course if you are a pirate in a modern movie, then knock yourself out!
@bayportbob @JoeSeadog. Is it even possible to be named “Joe Seadog” and NOT be a pirate?

I agree with Red Green. I intend to exit this life with the same number of holes I started with.
Only a clip-on, and only once for a play. No holes, piercings or tats. My kids, on the other hand…
Four piercings in my left ear, three in my right. Since my thirties. These are what I’m wearing. I leave them in.
No.

No. No piercings. I have as many holes as I want for now, thank you.
I guess I have the ear holes I was born with.
No…

@ragingredd don’t the silicone ones smell funky?
Just plain no.
Yes every day. Take them out at night. The only jewelry I wear daily. I don’t regularly wear my wedding band or engagement ring, but always earrings!
yes…every day…had my first piercing when I was 7 and have had both ears pierced 2 more times since then and one ear with a 4th…dont leave the house with out them…like leaving naked…lol
if I take them out I forget to put em back in
No.
I’ve never pierced anything, even ears. I wasn’t forced to and I didn’t want them. I’m not really too big into jewelry anyway.

oh… wait… you said earholes.
