@cfg83 Although we get a lot of rainfall here in NW Oregon, wells in our (hilly) neighborhood are hit-and-miss. Our well is 230ft deep and has provided us ample (20 gallons a minute) clear, good tasting water for ~30 years now. The neighbor just to the south has a similar well. However, the neighbor just to the north has a well that is over 700ft deep and provides just 1.5 gallons a minute. I hate to think what they have invested to get even that.
We feel blessed.
Unless you consider coffee hydration.
@tweezak I count coffee.
Sweet tea and coke have water, right?
Only when I’m outside with the neighborhood kids and there’s a hose nearby
@katbyter Hmmmm …
/showme human named katbyter is drinking from water hose in residential neighborhood while puzzled children look on and drink soda.

Yes - we have a private well and I drink water from it throughout the day.
