@CrossIT I chose it because I gave up caffeine completely, even decaff coffee. And before anyone feels sorry for me, for the first time in 25 years I sleep like a log 8 hours every night and wake up feeling great. I takes about an hour to get motivated in the morning but it's worth it.
My favorite for the day is based on how fast or slow I will drink. Slow = thin bone China (usually vintage 60's cups), Fast = thick ceramic. Homeroast - FTW!
@grobbins the spider leg was cracked in my Creature Cup. I'm afraid if I try to use it it'll get worse & I'll wind up drinking little ceramic spider pieces
I have a few favorites. Among them are the big one that holds two mugs' worth, the set that @djanlp was cool enough to send me from fuku 2, and, of course, my new Irk mug :)
I have a large Sock Monkey mug (with 2 handles for the ears) that I drink at home. But I take an aladdin travel mug to work, I need to replace it since the outer wall is cracked. And it's not microwaveable.
I don't drink or like coffee in the slightest, but I have a Boba Fett mug a friend gave me that holds some sentimental value to me. I save it for cold winter hot coca chillaxin'.
@MsELizardBeth@WilhelmScreamer I'm not a coffee drinker either. Never liked it and I'm happy that I'm not some crazy coffee addict who can't start their day without their liquid drug of choice. I do drink tea and I have a giant box of hot chocolate (and a bag of mini marshmallows) here at work. I actually ordered a mug with the happy thought of HOT chocolate!
I love Bodum Pavina mugs but no longer made (you Swiss Bastards!!!) this is a direct ripoff but double walled like the bodum Canteen series which are CRAZY EXPENSIVE if you can even find. $3? HELLZ YEAH!!! Gonna go good with my Gino (kalita wave) double wall dripper :) It's full of doublewalls...
Meh sux cuz i could only order 3 :( i guess i will have to pay $10 for my $5 shipping to get more
I have a travel mug from Bodum I love. Stainless steel, vacuum, double wall. Takes forever for my coffee to cool off a bit to the temp I like but it stays at that temperature for quite awhile once it does.
I do. I got it back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
My original Geocities address was 8305 Heartland. Then we were able to change it to our user name for $5.00 a month. And we got free stuff for getting people to visit our sites. One of the things I got was this mug.
@koalamoo There's a possiblity you still could find it if you remember your address. Check out http://geocities.ws/archive/. Mine isn't there, I left when Yahoo took it over and finally got my own domain.
@dashcloud Thanks! My present site has the exact same opening as my original website so many years ago. I don't maintain it like I used to, but I do keep up with my weblog. And I also have .net for my photo galleries. I spend way too much time on the internet. I'll check out oocities.
I have a christmas mug that I bought in July in Orlando on a work trip. (It was cold in the hotel and I needed coffee.) It was on super clearance. It holds 28 oz and I use it from the first chilly day in October until it stops snowing in Marchish. (One of my coworkers is convinced it's what keeps causing the cold harsh winters.) The rest of the year I use a 20 oz mug from Shutterfly that has pictures of my kid on it. I only have to fill the big mug 3 times. :)
No, I don't drink coffee. However, I do have a favorite bowl. It was a promotional one given a few years ago by Kellogs. It features a smiling sun and I love it. Don't look at it. It's mine.
Tea, not coffee, though. The one I use at work is a heavy pottery mug handmade by an artist I know. It holds about 20oz and has dragonflies on it, which are a personal totem. My niece gave me the one I use at home for Christmas a few years ago. It's the only gift any of my numerous nephlings ever gave me, despite many years of me dragging gifts 600 miles to the family Christmas for them. Graciousness is not a family trait. I'm retiring in 6 weeks (happy dance, happy dance!!!) so I expect the dragonfly mug will be the victor. It fits very comfortably in my hand despite its weight and is very resistant to tipping.
@moondrake Congrats on the retirement! Your mug reminds me a lot of the work my uncle used to do. He was a potter for a while until the madness drove him away... He had a bowl that someone really liked and suggested he take to Woolworth's buyers. They loved it and ordered 5,000. He was making these all by himself. Finished about 200 of them then realized just how long it would take to fill that order. Said 'ef this' and it soured him on pottery as a career.
@Cinoclav That's a very good parable for being ruined by your own success. Artists are especially vulnerable to this, bridging the divide between OOAK and line production is tricksy and few manage it with any grace. The creator of my cup is Sylvana Anderson-Gish, a sculptor from Phoenix. I have many of her humble household pieces, but she has some wonderful installation pieces and gallery works.
Many years ago I had one of those heat-sensitive mugs with three Star Trek crewmen on the transporter platform. Filling it with coffee made the Away Team beam out, then return when the coffee was gone. The problem was that the image was too close to the top and got worn away a bit. The Away Team would still beam out, but had a tendency to return without their heads. The mug broke before I could figure out how to correct the transporter malfunction.
I eventually replaced it with an Alice in Wonderland talking to the Cheshire Cat - who would fade out leaving behind his grin. That one disappeared (grin and all) from my desk, never to be seen again.
Wayne sat up quickly. Not realizing what time it was, he yelled, "It's the fucking morning!" His wife quickly popped up from a deep slumber, "Wayne it's 2AM, go back to bed." But it was too late. Wayne had awoken and, even though he jumped the gun by several hours, he had already said his morning line. So, that meant Wayne was getting up. Gliding out of bed like some sort of sea slug, Wayne quickly made his way to the kitchen where he began the long and arduous process of brewing a K-Cup. Wayne hated coffee but it reminded him of his childhood where he drank coffee until the cows came home. And they did. And then he'd drink more coffee. To say Wayne's childhood on that farm in upstate Maine was odd would be an understatement. To say it was unusual would be an overstatement. So, unsure of how to dance within that gray area between odd and unusual, people normally would just smile and say, "Wayne grew up on a farm." The K-Cup spewed out the disgusting black tar that Wayne would have to pour down his throat. It was pure torture. The one saving grace: His coffee mug. It said, "Don't talk to me before I've had my coffee." Every time Wayne looked at that quote, he giggled. And that helped to make everything a little better (-:
my family has a bit of a mug problem....they are just such darn convenient souvenirs, you don't have to worry about them being the "wrong size", etc.
My parents have a plate rail around the top of their kitchen cupboards filled with mugs of places we've been. 2 of the 3 shelves in one cupboard filled with mugs, and more in the old kitchen cupboards that now live in the garage. My Brother has an entire Cupboard filled with mugs, and has more at his place in the cube farm.
yet, we still buy more mugs.
heck, my nephew trained their cat to only drink out of coffee mugs, so now she has her own pink My Little Pony Mug.
but back to the question at hand, Currently a Tim Horton's Souvenir mug from a couple Christmases back. (about 12 oz), prior to that, I used This one that was bigger than it looked (held a full pint), from the Texas Ranger Museum in Waco:
I used to travel to the Seattle area for work, so I picked up a set of these mugs one time. Holds about 16 oz and reminds me of the good times I had over the years out there.
its a battery that depending on heat displays a charge. I've gone through two of them because someone put it in the dishwasher.
I have a large coffee mug with a Vespa on it. Whenever I use it I imagine Eddie Izzard saying, "Ciao!"
so far i say too many ppl dont make their own coffee
@CrossIT I chose it because I gave up caffeine completely, even decaff coffee. And before anyone feels sorry for me, for the first time in 25 years I sleep like a log 8 hours every night and wake up feeling great. I takes about an hour to get motivated in the morning but it's worth it.
I have an N7 mug. (gloat)
My "everyday" coffee mug is a Powerpuff Girls one. I've been using it for over 12 years now.
We're fans of the Contigo stainless mugs when we are on the go, otherwise any old mug works fine around the house.
My favorite for the day is based on how fast or slow I will drink. Slow = thin bone China (usually vintage 60's cups), Fast = thick ceramic.
Homeroast - FTW!
My Creature Cup that came in my Fuku! It's an alligator!!
@grobbins the spider leg was cracked in my Creature Cup. I'm afraid if I try to use it it'll get worse & I'll wind up drinking little ceramic spider pieces
@Kleineleh Oooh..... then they'll lay little ceramic spider eggs in your intestines!
@Cinoclav Are those anything like Fabergé eggs? I could be rich!
@Kleineleh Nah, more like kidney stones. You could be hurting.
@grobbins Suck up.
@Cinoclav Oh. Nevermind then.
I have a few favorites. Among them are the big one that holds two mugs' worth, the set that @djanlp was cool enough to send me from fuku 2, and, of course, my new Irk mug :)
@Kleineleh Glad you liked the set! :-D
@djanlp I really do. Thanks again!
@WilhelmScreamer you are missing out on one of the few great joys in life.
@MsELizardBeth @WilhelmScreamer I'm not a coffee drinker either.
@Cinoclav WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!?!?
@MsELizardBeth Me? Insomnia.

I have a metal They Might Be Giants travel mug that I use just about every day.
Here's where to get your own.
I have a mug with lyrics from one of my favorite bands on it. "I like my coffee black, just like my metal. "
Paper cup anyone? Maybe just me. Meh
My favorite mug is a mug textured like it was made from duct tape. It's what I use for my morning coffee.
Bodum Travel Mug, aluminum. Had it for years, still looks like it just came out of the box!
We have "Friends" mugs, hold about 20 oz. And when we travel, 16 oz Contigo insulated mugs. Best coffee is most important.
I have a travel mug from Bodum I love. Stainless steel, vacuum, double wall. Takes forever for my coffee to cool off a bit to the temp I like but it stays at that temperature for quite awhile once it does.
I do. I got it back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

@lisaviolet That is cool! I miss my GeoCities website sometimes. I was a Parisian. :)
@koalamoo There's a possiblity you still could find it if you remember your address. Check out http://geocities.ws/archive/. Mine isn't there, I left when Yahoo took it over and finally got my own domain.
@lisaviolet Wait, is this you?
@Cinoclav Aw, crap, you found me.
@lisaviolet It's okay, I'm a cat person. :)
@lisaviolet That could be the most awesome mug I've seen in quite a while- certainly since the NSA mug I was outbid on a couple of years ago.
@koalamoo @lisaviolet One of the other big sites that has Geocities pages is: http://www.oocities.org/
@dashcloud Thanks! My present site has the exact same opening as my original website so many years ago. I don't maintain it like I used to, but I do keep up with my weblog. And I also have .net for my photo galleries. I spend way too much time on the internet. I'll check out oocities.
@dashcloud Thanks! It's heavy and holds a decent amount of coffee. Once I saw my husband using it and he found out in short order that it was MINE.

I've got one of these: http://www.thermos.com/products/vacuum-insulated-16-oz-matte-black-travel-tumbler.aspx and it is amazing. The only bad part is that it's so insulated it doesn't keep your hands warm in the winter.
My friends have accused me of having a deformed hand, claiming that I keep the coffee mug in it to keep anybody from noticing.
This mug is fairly large, had a handle that fits my hand and is light colored inside so I can see how much cream to add.
@Headly Love Disney. They have really nice mugs.
I had a custom mug with the Guild of Calamitous Intent logo that I used all the time. Then one day, it just slipped out of my hand and shattered.
@The_Baron http://www.cafepress.com/+guild-of-calamitous-intent+mugs
@lisaviolet Mine was better :( I could just order another one, heh. The replacement one was the Aperture Diner Mug http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/ece2/

Why is "I don't drink coffee" or something substantially similar not one of the voting options?
At home I use this one, mainly because it's extra large and I like a lot of coffee but also because Ninja Turtles are rad:
@JonT Thank you I now have this running through my head...
@JonT a while back a bought an Autobot Mug that was next to TMNT mug like that, when i rang it up, it came up as a TMNT mug on the screen/Receipt...

@rockblossom I have a couple of mugs with a Christmas tree where the lights "come on" when it gets hot.

Depending on how much I need at the time.
1. Giant bad horse mug
2. Krispy Kreme mug I "acquired" sometime in the 80s
@cleverogre Bad Horse? The Thoroughbred of Sin?
@JonT
I used to travel to the Seattle area for work, so I picked up a set of these mugs one time. Holds about 16 oz and reminds me of the good times I had over the years out there.
