I adore them. The texture, the taste, the ritual in consumption. Throw alongside some scotch or sparkling and life is goooooood. Nomnomnom! (I did love eating my boogers as a youth; I'm quite sure this delectation is but the natural progression of that snackery.)
I like them on occasion. I actually had a couple yesterday. Oyster Rockefeller. Fried oysters and oyster rock were the first kinds I was willing to eat, followed shortly by oyster stew. On rare occasions I'll eat them raw. I had an amazing oyster omelet once at a restaurant, which I've never been able to successfully duplicate.
But my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE are chargrilled oysters in New Orleans--it's really butter and cheese with oyster as a side show.
@kevlar51 fair enough! The place I was at yesterday (Acme) was sold out of the charbroiled oysters. Or there was a long wait to get them. I will make that wait while down here.
@melonscoop I'm 90% sure Acme is where I first had them. I'm 100% sure it's where I last had them in a restaurant (the Acme in the New Orleans airport).
Well prepared? If that means fresh and raw, then yes.
(Another poll fail)
While I am at it...
Jewelry? Really?? Demographic swing?
Does this include Rocky Mountain Oyster's?
@Fish_Kungfu eww
@Fish_Kungfu you're nuts! (Lame, I know, I know)
I live on the gulf coast so I know that I do not like them even as fresh as we get them.
I am neither walrus or carpenter.
@Ignorant Coo coo ca choo?
@Mehrocco_Mole
But I'm also no eggman.
I ate them smoked as a kid. Now, I'm allergic. If I ate one, it'd kill me.
Never had one, and can't imagine I ever will. They just do not look appetizing to me.

I don't feel like
fully conveys how sick I'd get if I ever consume oysters or other shellfish.
Another in the shellfish allergies camp. 100% nope. I pass on all seafood too, just to be safe.
No. Hell no.
My dad ate lots of oyster stew when he was stepping out on my mom.
I'm in New Orleans today and had a dozen chances to try oysters. But the salty dank smell in the oyster bar told me I'd not like the taste.
@melonscoop EAT THE CHARGRILLED OYSTERS!!!!!!! See below!
