I'm from Texas, the tea is cold and sweet, and the coffee's hot and black. Preferably made over an open campfire, next to a chuck wagon, while cows gather round and moo obstinatly in the background watching us cook Steve over the same open fire. Because that's how all Texans live.
@cj0e The place where I go horseback riding in the Lincoln Forest in NM keeps a blue speckled pot of "cowboy coffee" in the fireplace for their riders. You can sweet talk them out of a cup, but they'll warn you it's "chewy", as they just dump the grounds in there with the water.
@moondrake Sounds like a good pot of coffee. Its how we make it. Granted, when it gets low, we're savages. We just add more grounds and more water. Boil and keep the pot goin. The pot can get stout fast with enough people sippin.
@TBoneZeOriginal Soul food and BBQ joints are the places to look for sweet tea. Here in west Texas those are the only places that serve pre-sweetened tea, unless you buy a flavored tea with a syrup added.
Embrace the power of 'and', people. I have coffee hot in the winter, but iced in the summer, otherwise it triggers hot flashes. I drink both ice tea (because I'm Southern) and hot tea (because TEA.)
Coffee Any way I can get it. (unless that way is via i.v. Because though i have joked about it, my fear of needles SLIGHTLY outweighs my love of coffee.) Tea: chai lattes only, hot, of course.
@Cinoclav Ah! I totally forgot about that! I wound up going to World Market that day instead. Then I spent all my extra money Christmas-ing. Thanks for the reminder!
Coffee hot. I have never tasted a cold coffee item that I liked. Tea can be hot or cold though. Typically hot tea in winter or when I have a cold. Iced tea when the weather is nicer.
I drink tea hot. My top green, white and black teas are Mightly Leaf Green Tea Tropical, Mighty Leaf White Orchard and Tazo Chai. I rarely put anything in my tea, although chai is nice served sweet and milky. If iced tea is included in a Comida Corrida deal then I will drink it, but I won't pay $2 for a glass of iced tea. Whether or not I sweeten it depends on what I am eating. I love coffee, but developed an allergy (really an intolerance) to a chemical in it a long time ago so I can only tolerate coffee from high end vendors on rare occasion. I always drink it sweet and milky to soften the blow to my tummy. It's a real treat.
Your poll is missing some options... Did Glen write it?
I drink coffee cold, hot, lukewarm, frozen, with or without alcohol additives. I drink tea, green black or white, hot cold or room temperature, with or without sweeteners. Hot black tea may have some milk in it.
Hot, Earl Grey; iced, brewed, strong, cheap stuff with gobs of lemon powder. Coffee, hot or iced, but it has got to be fresh ground and with real cream or half and half. Everything sweet.
Hot tea only, because cold tea is a taste travesty (unless we're talking about soy/almond/coconut milk green tea with boba... which really isn't tea, it's "tea", but in case that counts, there you go). Coffee mostly hot, though summer means making a jar of cold brew concentrate about once a week in additional to my usual coffee intake. Cold brew coffee is the only time I ever add sugar to a drink.
Coffee both ways (although the only way I'll drink cold coffee is if it's a Vietnamese style coffee), and tea hot (no Green tea, but otherwise I like the other flavors).
I prefer both hot! But I wanna say that there is one kind of green tea that is really much more tasty when it is cold. In summer it's my favorite drink! And saying about cold coffee.. it is really awful, how people can drink it? :(
Tea cold coffee NO
Tea both, coffee no!
All three.
Where is the "Tea either way, coffee never in a million years, but I like the smell" option?
@bluejester Tea either way, coffee always hot.
@bluejester Pretty much me. Tea drinker (hot and iced) who hates the taste of coffee, but sometimes it does smell really good.
I drink ice tea, all the time. As for coffee, I usually only drink it when it's really cold and therefor only hot.
Yes

@Ayer87 It's not coffee without some wood smoke, ash, and mild verbal abuse; or so we always say.

@Ayer87 can you tell me why the hell I couldn't find sweet tea anywhere in Dallas? I came for a week and finally found it at a BBQ joint.

hot chocolate - but only the good kinds
@Kidsandliz Stephens Mint Truffle....and only that

Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.
@KDemo http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/f07b/
@KDemo With a splash of REAL cream.
both hot and both cold.... WAS THAT TOO HARD OF A CATEGORY TO BE MISSED??? DA FUQ?!
@unixrab Today will be good because I got to do this so early in the morning....
And I thank you.
@lisaviolet YOU'RE WELCOME!! :-)

@MsELizardBeth Yeah, I'm still waiting for @JonT and @Kleineleh's own reviews of this wonderful stuff:
@Cinoclav i bet it is amazing. I wonder how many hours I would have to drive to get to a trader joes...
@Cinoclav Ah! I totally forgot about that! I wound up going to World Market that day instead. Then I spent all my extra money Christmas-ing. Thanks for the reminder!
@MsELizardBeth I'm rather blessed to have one 10 minutes away. And yes, I personally think it's amazing.

@remo28 cold coffee is meh. iced americanos--espresso and water--is brilliant.
@cbreeden Hot-brewed coffee that is then made cold is rather meh... Cold-brewed coffee is outstanding.
@remo28 The only cold coffee thing I drink is Vietnemese iced coffee, which is absolutely amazing.
@dashcloud Dear god yes. Soooo good
Iced tea and iced americanos... always.... even when it's 5 degrees outside.
I like hot tea but I feel like iced coffee has more "coffee" flavor than hot coffee.
I love coffee hot or cold.
@rea1tb you'd make a good Bostonian. Hot when it's cold, iced when it's hot.
Coffee hot, tea never should be an option. Oh, and I don't consider an Arnold Palmer tea either.
having some hot tea right now, but my answer is "Both both"
Both. I have been a little influenced by the ice coffee drinkers in Boston.
But all these New England weirdos will drink ice coffee in cold weather. It is 15F today and I am sure people are still buying ice coffee at Dunkin.
@The_Baron Considering iced coffee is likely around 40F, it's almost like they're drinking hot coffee when it's 15F outside!
I drink coffee hot until it becomes cold and I don't drink tea. WHY IS THERE NO "I DON'T DRINK TEA" OPTION?
I drink tea hot. My top green, white and black teas are Mightly Leaf Green Tea Tropical, Mighty Leaf White Orchard and Tazo Chai. Fizzy Tea
1 - 1/2 gallon canning jar
4 - bags of Good Earth Sweet and Spicy tea
1 - liter of hot water
1 - liter of carbonated water from Soda Stream
Place bags in jar, add hot water, let it cool to room temperature, add carbonated water. Chill or poor over ice.
Very refreshing makes great cinnamon belches.

I love Oolong like Barney loves Purple.
