We have a an army of inflatable snowmen and a nativity outside. Inside we have a Lenox Christmas Cone that serves as our tree. I don’t dare try for anything else. Our cats would have heyday.
@kjady@mycya4me Put a closed round hook in the wall. Tie the tree to that (put the parachute cord about shoulder high around the tree trunk and then tie to the hook about the same height) . Doing that stopped the toppled tree due to moving, live cat decorations. Use non breakable ornaments and don’t have ones on the bottom that dangle. It will not stop the climbing but does stop broken ornaments and fallen trees.
@Kidsandliz@mycya4me Yeah, no. 5 of our eight cats weigh between 12 and 18 pounds. The mair reason we don’t have a tree is they have broken the branches before, fake and real. It’s not worth it.
@Kidsandliz@kjady I understand, My male rescue is around 10-11 lbs. I will try to put up a small one. I also have a 3d Printer, he has Never bothered it. I done some 25 hour prints on it!
@kittykat9180 what does being Pagan have to do with it. Yes the early Christians Appropriated the pagan holiday. And by all current records. “The Reason for the Season” was truly born in the Spring! But it is the spirit that is living in the Holiday. Also I know here in the US a certain political party has also trying to STEAL the holiday!
@kittykat9180@mycya4me
Well I am and well, I’d rather celebrate Beltaine ,LOL, or at least would have when I was young.
Pagans are a lot less likely to go all nutso about it.
Most modern holiday’s have pagan routes, they relate to agriculture, farming, and the cycles of the son and the moon.
I have met others who felt as kitty does and I say unto them, it’s no longer about when the sun rises and sets or when the son rises and sets, its about family, community and people. And if your choice is to stay inside in the dark, so be it. The Goddess and your God gave us free will.
Personally, I would rather celebrate that which I can. There is too much negativity and evil in todays world to not bless and celebrate the light.
@Cerridwyn@mycya4me,
I have no interest in buying or receiving gifts.
I don’t want a tree (cut or fake) in my house. And none of the other decor match with my beach themed decor.
I don’t want to travel during the worst weather and most expensive time for flying.
Since I travel so much during good weather I enjoy having a little bit of peace at home during the winter. I’m flying home today and then I won’t be going anywhere again until 17 January.
@kittykat9180
That’s ironic. We are leaving for the Carib (St Lucia, Martinique, Guadaloupe) on Christmas Day since tix were way cheaper. Return on the 17th of Jan.
As usual YMMV. Enjoy your re-charging time!
The nutcracker was beheaded in an accident last year and I haven’t gotten around to buying wood glue. We have a weird Santa head. The advent wreath is set up, though the twigs and berries lights are kind of falling apart. Too tired for more.
@Salanth but you do Have the strength to continue! You will overcome ALL Your challenges & successfully create an awesome Christmas Decorations that will even surprise yourself, family & friends!

If you are ever in Nashville for this season, visit the Gaylord Hotel for the decorations or go to Zoolumination at the Nashville Zoo. Both are lots of fun.
Only put up my little Christmas trees.

@kjady i understand about Cats as I have one now & it is our 1holiday season together! Yes it will be wild.

@Kidsandliz @kjady Very Good Idea!
I am not pagan, therefore, I don’t celebrate “Christmas.”

@mycya4me, the holiday is pagan.
I’m not sure what else your trying to say.

@chienfou, that’s a cheap day to fly because no one wants to be on an airplane on Christmas Day. NYE and NYD tend to be less expensive days to fly.
@kittykat9180
Exactly.
Used to (even having 2 trees sometimes) but not anymore.
@brainmist sad…
The clutter spread around my house becomes Christmas clutter the day after thanksgiving.
Sure have a few things but Christmas? Lol
@ragingredd kool!

@chienfou
That’s a wow!
@f00l
Yep. It was most impressive.
That’s my wife’s department. Sometimes I get drafted for a big chore, but not this year.
