@kittykat9180 Nope. It is just Raiders of the Lost Ark. Just like the first movie with John is called First Blood not Rambo: First Blood part We Can’t Believe People Watch This Carp.
It looked cool until fewer than five minutes of research showed that a tiny fraction of the job would have even the potential to be anything like so adventurous as the movies. As someone of an age with Indy during his adventurous period, I can now confidently say that I’d rather have a little less excitement than that.
@jsfs A good friend of mine’s dad was a world renowned paleontologist. I wanted to be nothing like him. Smart AF but a real jerk and the family was a mess. Both he and his wife graduated from Hahvahd and just couldn’t relate to other people. I guess they really liked me and liked having me around (probably to be a good influence on their HS aged son who was already turning into an alcoholic like his father) but I couldn’t tell.
@kittykat9180 hmm, you have a point. I do professional fireworks, and a few other adventurey things, but I’m not really into the running from boulders or having people shoot at me kinds of stuff. I’ve done too much disaster relief to be truly unhappy with boring, but maybe there’s something to this desire for adventure.
One of the few who’s livin’ the dream! Watch for my screenplays, Indiana Jones and the Preservation Grant Application, followed by Indiana Jones and the Unit of Sterile Clay
Until you find out how mind numbingly boring archaeology really is. I suppose it could be meditative for some and as soon as most can, they hand off the boring bits to the interns.
Watching Harrison Ford makes me want to be as rich as Harrison Ford.
@phendrick Carpentry is a job you can make a lot of money at. So much money that you can make home movies with your friends.
@yakkoTDI Tell us more about your home movies. .
Or, will I regret asking?
[Judging by your past posts, no telling where this will lead…]
No, but watching Raiders of the Lost Ark did.
@yakkoTDI, isn’t that Indians Jones?
@kittykat9180 Indiana was in Raiders but he wasn’t the only Raider.
@yakkoTDI, isn’t the full title “Indiana Jones, and the Raiders of the lost Ark?”

@jsfs, I love adventure just not running for my life from a boulder kind of adventure.

@eagle80 That said, $20 for a t shirt … I have whole work outfits that cost less than that. (Not counting the boots.)

Who?
@hchavers Top. Men.

Digging in the Dirt
Well, I do like old scotch - does that count?
Watching Indiana Jones, as I did today, makes me want to kick Nazi’s butts.
Never saw it.
