After the first one and the pay to play shenanigans, I’ll be waiting a long time until it’s cheap and bundled with dlc. Pissed me off that you lost content when dlc packs came out. I’m not saying I should get to play the new stuff or find new weapons, but things I was previously able to do no longer worked. Missions were no longer offered. No free compatibility pack offered. Level caps that took you out of competition. It’s like you had to pay if you wanted to keep playing. Lame.
Oh, Destiny 2 is out now. I thought there was more time to wait. I want to play this, but it’s one of those grindy medium-skill infinite progression lifestyle games, isn’t it…
From what I’m reading, Bungie is going the microtransaction route again. Apparently, it has an “Eververse” marketplace that allows players to spend real money for in-game content. It’s a friggin’ loot-based shooter game; not some stupid iPhone app! The whole point of playing is to find cool stuff to make your character stronger. It takes all the fun out of it when some players unlock stuff because they’re willing to spend more money on a game they already payed for. Some of these items (like weapon and armor mods) are just unfair because it impacts the competitive gameplay. Not only is their model “pay to play” it’s also “pay to win”. The most petty thing is that armor shaders (used to customize the color of armor pieces) are single-use only BUT they can be bought in the Eververse if you want more! Why? How friggin lame is that?
I really hate the microtransaction model. “You don’t want to play the game like everyone else and EARN your rewards? Oh, that’s ok. As long as you have some more money, you can skip all that annoying gameplay and just purchase the rewards!” Maybe I’m just a traditional gamer, but that seems so dissatisfying and unsportsmanlike.
im having a lot of fun watching destiny 2 install 28gbs on my ps4.

I played a lot of Destiny. I was going to play Destiny 2 when it came out, but I don’t think I’ll pick it up any time soon.
It’s great so far. Most of the bullshit from the first game is gone, environments are really well done and the maps are huge.
