Delivery Exception??
0Does Meh now require a signature? I had 2 USPS items delivered today. 1 (amazon) was left in mailbox, 1 (meh) says delivery exception please contact USPS. I really hope this is a fluke because unfortunately I work the same hours as the post office but I am 40 miles away from it.

It could be a good thing! Maybe your mail carrier has a huge crush on you and is just really shy.
I hate signature required! I went around in circles with the post office for two weeks to get a stupid vegetable peeler ordered from Amazon.
(Turned out it shipped from Israel, and it really wasn't stupid).
I've placed 30 orders for 47 items (per my awesome stats email) and this is the first signature required. The only way I can get it this week is to take vacation time. :( Otherwise I wait until sometime next week to try and get there. Yeah, typically I avoid sig. req. purchases....
@derek17j if they try a second deliver, usually you can leave a signed note saying they can leave it there.
@derek17j I think a few items from here did have a signature required. Without the tracking I can't say for sure on this particular order. You can request redelivery on USPS.com. I would put in the instructions that you will leave the notice signed in the mailbox for the carrier. Put your phone number in too, unless you could not answer the call if there was a question or issue with the delivery. I am guessing you have a good place to leave packages and you are OK with this package being left there.
If you would like me to check into this tracking number you can send it to my username at gmail
@derek17j Does the slip actually say that a signature is required? Delivery exceptions can be for a lot of reasons, including not enough room in the mailbox (or that all parcel lockers are full). How large is your post office? We live in a small enough town that we can call and ask for more information, but I'm not sure that would work in bigger towns. Maybe @speediedelivery can shine some light on your options...
I would call them, and call them soon. Because it's smart post, for us a 'delivery exception' just means that send it right back. If you call, they'll know to actually hold on to it or they'll take your instructions to just leave it. Good luck!
Delivery Exceptional!!
there... i fixed it for you.
So last night when I got home, there was no info notice. Nothing in mailbox or on door or anywhere on my porch. In the past they just put packages on the floor of the porch, so there would be no issue with leaving it.
I was able to work at home half day today and I will go to the office during my lunch(swinging by the PO of course). Hopefully I figure this out.
--funny thing, another meh purchase is out for delivery today.
