Dallas Stars take on the St. Louis Blues: Time for an office bet
4As some of you may know, we've got a few folks that are from the St. Louis area. From what I gather, @dave and @shawn are also both hockey fans. As am I and a few others here at the Dallas Mediocre office.
Well, wouldn't you know that in the sporting world our beloved Dallas Stars have moved on to the 2nd round of the NHL playoffs and will be facing those sad guys from St. Louis.
So I propose that we make some sort of bet between the two groups. And I propose that you all should help us determine the terms of said bet. So let's hear it.
Keep it reasonable if you want this to actually happen and there can't be any monetary value associated with it, so don't just suggest we wager some sum of money. Cast your ideas and we'll consider a few of them and make a decision prior to game 1.
*Note: I haven't run this by @dave or @shawn so they could say no if they were scared or something. I'll leave it open for others from the Dallas office to join if they so choose.

Pizza for the winners is a good stand-by. Or, if you have somebody who can bake, mehbe some cupcakes?
@therealjrn The problem would be more so shipping cupcakes across a few states without them being destroyed. Which could also be more fun if you think about it. Ordering pizza is always an easy option though.
@MEHcus "cake in a jar"?
@MEHcus tiffs treats. Duh.
When I was in Boy Scouts we had to wear our "unders" on our "outers" one time...good thing Mom sent extra pairs to camp!
Losers send @Ignorant a Costco pumpkin pie.
Losers have to post a video of themselves wearing the opposing team’s jerseys while playing air guitar to the winning team’s theme song. Of course this means @dave and @shawn performing Pantera’s Puck Off. I refuse to consider the alternative.
@Trillian Greatest song in hockey
@Trillian I think this one should be the winner. What say you @shawn and @dave?
@Trillian @mehcus Assuming I'm not required to purchase a Stars jersey, this sounds good to me. I have no idea if the Blues have a theme song, but they're named after a song, so that could work.
As a Blackhawks fan, all I can say is "Boooooo!"
@pitamuffin You've had enough success. Let us have a little fun here.
@pitamuffin I watched the series just to make sure that the Blackhawks lost. I was happy. Then again, I'm a Maple Leafs fan, so I'll go climb back under my rock and hide in shame.
@MEHcus I can't argue with that. I guess I'll just have to root for Patrick Sharp now.
@lichme I'm surprised Canada hasn't declared a State of Emergency.
Losers sing MADK version of We Are The Champions in winning team's attire.
LETS GO BLUES!
It would be nice to see @MEHcus smile in a video the whole time.
Maybe losers group does a Mad Ape Den chosen by the winners?
Winning team gets to have the losing team drink one of the Drinking Terrible drinks on camera?
@dashcloud I don't smile.
@MEHcus You will for the video when the Minnesota North Stars, I mean the Dallas No Stars get their colective butts kicked!
@MEHcus Then since your team is obviously going to win, you should have no trouble agreeing to smiling on camera for a video in the event of your team's loss.
The loser has to fund my Meh purchases for the month of my birth.
St. Louis all the way seeing as my Red Wings got themselves an early summer vacation. I agree with the jersey/singing idea.
Just a little bump:
The terms should be set by the winner of each game, so that both parties have a chance of being shamed -- multiple times.
Fans of the losing team must preform a headstand and sing Mary had a little lamb. While wearing their team colors.
GKG!!!!!!
LGB!!!
Originally from the Lou and I'm proud. Go blues.
Losers give the winners a foot massage.
@medz And we can watch it on Periscope.
@pitamuffin Yes. This is a requirement.
@mehcus lunch to the winner....Right?
@rkaye Yeah we're still on. I like my steak medium rare.
@mehcus I'll try to remember that. LOL!
blues gonna wipe the texas sand with dallas. which i can relate to, cindy and fuckfuckguins wiped the subways with my rangers ;_;
at least i have an excuse to join my coworker in rooting for the communists, i mean capitals.
LETS GO BLUES!
So, any other stakes (or steaks?) other than lunch?
Personally, I like both the Blues and the Stars. As a big hockey nut, I really have teams I can't stand more than ones I like, honestly.
Myself, I'd love to see the Lightning take the Cup this year because there's still a lot of guys on the roster from the DOMINANT 2011-2012 season of the AHL Norfolk Admirals. (Tampa's former farm team here at home) They REALLY screwed us here because our guys won 28 games in a row, won 43 out of their final 46 games and swept the conference AND Calder cup finals, and they announce during the parade at home that they were taking the team out of Norfolk. It was just an unbelievable year of hockey to watch and I've never seen another team, including NHL, that had the chemistry of the 11-12 Norfolk team.
I mean, I kinda want Julien Brise-Bois and Yzerman (only the manager part of him, not his actual playing years) to die in a fire and never touch Lord Stanley's cup, but I want to see some of our old Norfolk players and our old coach to raise it, so I'm conflicted.
Yknow, as long as pretty boy Kane stays away!! Boo 'Hawks! (YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THAT PRETTY AND BE GOOD AT HOCKEY. lol)
