@Stallion@yakkoTDI It’s about tine for you two to stick it together! (Though you forks all look alike to me – I can’t tell you apart: the salad fork from the meat fork.) Else you’ll flat ware me out, and then I’ll have to whisk you away to the old forks home. See you ladle.
@BillLehecka I can’t imagine it’s 18/10. Cuisinart won’t even tell you the grade and if they were 18/10 they would. That being said Cuisinart’s site shows the Divonne style is discontinued, so if you want matching silverware and you like it I’d jump on it.
Seriously thinking of getting a set to replace the stupefyingly useless soft plastic cutlery the company provides for the cafeteria. I’d have to take the dirty ones home to wash myself, but I’d be able to say, "Use these - they’re Fampoux " to our most important clients.
@arfdawg@stinks Click on the Meh link and voila – twice as much for $30! and Free shipping too if you have it from a variety of ways (paying a monthly fee or being one of the early lucky ones, which I was not, so I pay the fee. Worth it for free wine shipments on the other site.)
The reviews on Amazon for both products are concerning. For both they seem to indicate that once those products were relatively heavy but more recent replacement orders resulted in receiving a more flimsy version of it.
@datruandi the CFE (E for elite) model was replaced by the lower quality CF version according to the Amazon reviews. Meh lists CFE on the main product description. But CF on the product page. So I would assume they are separate model numbers. It’s really not clear.
@mlcga note that there are two sets on that link. One is 20 pieces for $35 and is the CFE model number so probably the heavier weight. I assume the 65 piece set for $30 is the lighter weight version of the same pattern. Also per the questions it is not 18/10 but that’s probably the case for all of these.
Think about this! these coupled with a big set of china and glasses and it’s like 4or 5 days (if you’re coupled) or 8 days you don’t have to rujd the dishwasher. That’ll earn the 30 bucks back in year or two. Plus the roaches will thank you.
Meh is selling flatware with the the word “poo” in it phonetically. This is why I love this place. Of course, I’m not actually buying any of this. I’m just here to shake my head and wonder about the decline of Western civilization.
