@warpedrotors No for sure, I understand the desire for bottle openers. My friend had shoes with one in the outer sole. But on the edge of a goddamn cleaver seems asking for trouble.
I COULD use the cleaver, but am doing fine without one. The thing that entices me most is the shears. I DO need a good set of poultry shears. But if I spent that 20 bucks on a slightly better set OF JUST shears, is it worth it? Cuisinart appliance products seem pretty solid, but their other tools have been hit or miss for me.
@j4yx0r I’ve never been overly impressed by their shears, but then again it’s been a long time since i found a decent pair. My favorites were made by Oneida, but they stopped selling them ages ago.
These separate, so the most important factor would be how well the pivot point stays together when they’re reassembled, which i don’t know, since i don’t have this set. There’s nothing worse than trying to cut thru something tough/hard while the things are falling apart.
@3Phen When your neighborhood non-invited guest has finished all your 6-pack of cans of beer, bring him a sweaty chilled bottle and hand him that bottle opener and see how coordinated he is with that blood level of alcohol.
You can almost predict exactly where each piece will break after a few uses. The spatula-cleaver is just screaming that it’s gonna snap at those 3 pins.

/showme person using tongs that have three tips
@medz I guess tip translates into thumb for the bots.
@medz @yakkoTDI Eww, what the hell…?!
Only five pieces? What do I use on the other hand?
@yakkoTDI Is that you, Edward?
@Kyeh Well at the time I did live in the same county where that was filmed.
@yakkoTDI
What a big tool you have, Meh!
If I buy this, what will I do with the 4 bottle and can openers I usually use while cracking open walnuts to grill?
Why the hell would you put bottle openers on sharp objects? And a sharp edge on a spatula that you’re dragging over the grill?
Have these people seen food or a grill of any kind before?
@mcanavino when grilling meats, one must always have access to at least 5 bottle openers. If those happen to be located on sharp objects, so be it
@mcanavino @warpedrotors and I’m guessing ‘sharp’ is an optimistic wish!
@warpedrotors No for sure, I understand the desire for bottle openers. My friend had shoes with one in the outer sole. But on the edge of a goddamn cleaver seems asking for trouble.
No built in flashlight no buy
@chiefbugbung there’s a spatucleavopener, so you don’t need a flashlight
Flank steak is a little overcooked… just sayin’

@j4yx0r I got poultry shears from OXO and they’ve been good so far. Spatchcocked a turkey for smoking.
@j4yx0r Dollar Tree ($1.25) shears re-branded as Queefinart. If you want something that will last, it’s an investment.
[1]:
@Cosper66 I’m no expert, but think you’d keep shears away from the queef zone.
@mcanavino That seems like an awful extreme punishment for smoking.
Do they…all have built in bottle openers? That’s fantastic and absurd.
Imagine accidentally cutting yourself on your spatula.
that cleaver though
/giphy startled baby

A bottle opener on the back of a cleaver is hilarious. What?
@3Phen When your neighborhood non-invited guest has finished all your 6-pack of cans of beer, bring him a sweaty chilled bottle and hand him that bottle opener and see how coordinated he is with that blood level of alcohol.
This looks like a $6.25 grill collection from dollar tree being resold for $20
@Cosper66 I took a flyer on it just due to the brand usually being decent
I really need cutlery companies to stop putting fucking speedholes in their knives.
All that does is make them more annoying to clean, weakens the metal, and provides more spots for rust to accumulate.
@TwiNaga
What, they couldn’t think of something life threatening to put on the tongs?
@TheFLP

Tongs, in capable hands, are already life threatening.
@Boot2thehead So is a hammer. I’m more worried about stabby bits (and I guess gratuitous bottle openers) that could cause self-inflicted harm.
You can almost predict exactly where each piece will break after a few uses. The spatula-cleaver is just screaming that it’s gonna snap at those 3 pins.

@blaineg I’m astounded that for an AI, the bot can’t count to 5 any better than evidenced in that series above.
@phendrick Well, it can’t deal with 5 fingers either.
