@kdemo If you press down on the upper part while it’s running, to press sandwiches for example, yeah, it’ll get hot enough to burn you. Easy to do if you’re not paying attention and grab it absentmindedly
@Euniceandrich I’m also missing the Safety Gloves & Cleaning Cloth … but the package doesn’t seem to indicate they are expected to be there. (But, waffles for days)

Paid $62 for this on meh… 6 years ago?? With inflation this is dirt cheap! Useful as backup waffle iron.
The picture shows the waffle plates, but it isn’t mentioned in the product details. Does it come with the waffle plates?
@joshdawson Same question!
@joshdawson Good deal if it comes with the plates… meh deal if it doesn’t.
@joshdawson - Ditto your question. I find it super annoying to get no response to the questions that only meh staff can answer.
@joshdawson @kdemo The BestBuy link has this question and the answer is NO.
@joshdawson @kdemo
Note the name of the first person who answered…
@joshdawson @Kyeh - Hah! I know that Irked feeling.
Thanks!
ETA: @riskybryzness came through! Post below says the plates pictured are included. Yay!
@joshdawson @kdemo @riskybryzness Oh! Then the BestBuy model isn’t exactly the same, I guess.
We’ve had two of these over the years. Original one fell from a high place it was stored and was a casualty.
These are great devices.
Why the need for safety gloves? Only to change a hot cooking plate, or does the unit get super hot on the outside?

@TheGreatNico - Important to know. Thank you.

@Euniceandrich Cool! That was a good deal, then!
@Euniceandrich I’m so excited!! WAFFLES FOR DAYS!
A little disappointed to be missing the Safety Gloves & Cleaning Cloth, so Customer Service says:
…
Sorry you’re down a couple of pieces. But I have good news! You have a three-year warranty through Cuisinart!
…
I only mention the warranty because we don’t have the extra bits and bobs laying around since these come to us pre-boxed and whatnot.
…
I’ll try that route and see what comes from it.
