cubicuboctahedron
2@dave @irk
How’d you guys find out my password? Peeping over my shoulder, again?
It had been a great password, for though listed on Wikipedia and MathWorld, I had not see it in any online dictionary.
So, I presumed that a “dictionary attack” on my accounts would have not been successful. But you’ve ruined that. Thanks.
I guess now, I’ll have to change it to something like cubiholecuboctahedron or cubbyholecuboctahedron ?
Or maybe just use the passphrase “toyboat toyboat toyboat toyboat toyboat”?
That could be told to someone and they would have trouble telling it to anybody else in a hurry or under duress

Alas, there is a world of complex polyhedrons out there, certainly great ones not shown at the top of the Wikipedia for polyhedrons as an example.
And literally great ones! They got great right in the name!
correct horse battery staple
@blaineg And if numbers are required please don’t use 936.
My father constructed one of these out of cardstock when I was a kid. It was all one color (beige.)
@Kyeh I used to have one of these puzzle toys
A definite step up from a regular Rubik’s cube.
@phendrick Ooo. I might have to get one of those!
@Kyeh The commutator moves are surprisingly similar on these to those on a standard (3x3x3) Rubik cube. Just harder to keep one’s bearings (IMO). And a little harder to keep the pieces aligned for easy turning.
These used to be real common on A’zon; now not so much. Many available on eBay, but pricey, and shipping is usually even more.
Now I think I need to get a replacement for the one I lost to the fire! I used to have all the common “twisty” puzzles. The “Missing Link” was a quicker one, but also interesting.
If you get the Star, you can use a Tetrahedon puzzle (Pyraminx) for a warm-up. Both have a great feel in the hand, almost like they were giving you a hand massage.
If you are into these kinds of puzzles, you might consider this nice little set I ordered last summer

at < $4 a puzzle. (It has a variety that you can work your way up on.) It’s gone up about $1 per puzzle since I got mine.
@Kyeh @phendrick I had one of those as well, fun to play with.
