Dock-less speaker docks (bluetooth speaker combo thingie), and now knives??? Come on, Meh! http://knivesandspeakerdocks.com/ has been offline for a while now.
My recommendation for $20 plus $5 shipping(unless you spend another $80). Gerber Slimsada with D2 steel and micarta scales on a frame lock. The frame lock can be a bit sticky to close but very nice overall.
@gwrankin@rpstrong I would but I had a coupon. I didn’t go check the steel or anything. It flicks out nice. And it cuts well. Not my favorite clip but I like it
@gwrankin@rpstrong@ticklescratch note by “flicks out nice” it has the stub at the base of the blade in the middle you push with your index finger. It’s not assisted but mine is smooth enough I can do it with no wrist movement.
The thumb stud knives work for the me too so. Just different styles/if you have a preference
@lennypazz@werehatrack I mean it is in the sense you are compliant if you throw it in the trash cause you forgot you had it. How I lost my first buck knife…m
Decent cheap knife. The pivot is starting to work in and moves much more freely than it did a couple of weeks ago. On the other hand, the black paint on the clip is already gone in several spots.
Don’t put any stock in the “carbon fiber” claim, it’s non-structural. Just a very thin decorative panel between the steel frame and the plastic handles.
It’s a personal taste thing, but what I dislike most about it is the tip-up carry. Most of my knives are tip-down, so my “grab & open” reflexes are all wrong for this knife.
@blaineg tip up is necessary for the assisted flick. That’s where your finger tip goes. Just flicking with you finger vs you thumb. I can go either way
Eh. If you want a knife in the $25 range, look at Sitivien or Ganzo. In general, I like Ganzo better, but the Sitivien ST-101 is the best cheap knife I’ve ever bought. Totally a matter of how much a design works for you, but the 101 is perfect for my size hands.

Shing! Shing! Shing! Shing! Shing!!! Shing!!

This is more slicey than stabby. I consider that to be a good thing for the most part.
Stock up on the companion product

@ybmuG I had forgotten about those. I got those in a fuko once.
The tale about Doug in the write-up transcended “blah”; it was
incisivesharp-edgedkeencuttinghoned…… what’s the word I want?..
… oh yeah, meh.
8Cr14MoV is a pretty meh steel, so I guess that’s fine.
Meh knife.

@ponagathos What exactly is it? It’s listed as a frame lock, but looks like a button lock. Is the button false?
@ponagathos Where do you see it for $20? Gerber wants $30, Amazon wants $44.
Not that I want that knife or the one on offer here. Just the principle of backing up price claims.
@ciabelle @ponagathos 20 bux on BladeHQ at the moment.
@ciabelle Yes, BHQ as brennyn stated. I forgot to mention originally.
@brennyn It would be fantastic if it was a button lock, but no. Maybe you are looking at the pivot pin?
@ponagathos I guess so. Button locks are infinitely fidgitable.
Well they brought this back real quick.
Come on dudes. You just had this one up. I already purchased and carry it in my casual pants.
@gwrankin I mean, I kinda get it… they now have a warehouse full of Irk dolls.
Anyone who’s ever seen a Chucky or Benny movie knows how this is gonna end for them if they don’t get rid of these quick!
/giphy Benny loves you

@gwrankin I’m on the fence - would you buy it again?
@gwrankin @rpstrong I bought last time and I would again. I alternate between this and the “candy corn knife” from years ago.
@gwrankin @rpstrong I would but I had a coupon. I didn’t go check the steel or anything. It flicks out nice. And it cuts well. Not my favorite clip but I like it
@gwrankin @ticklescratch @unksol Thanks, you convinced me.

Is this TSA compliant?
@lennypazz No.

@blaineg dress-up CF is an instant turn-off for me.

Gerber multi-tool; use it for everything inside and outside, at home and away and anywhere I go… it’s wearing a hole in my pocket, but worth it!
@pskemp2 I like a decent thin knife for the watch/side pocket. not opposed to the bealt knife/multi tool but.
Maybe next time when they realize they still have too many of these they’ll sell them for what they’re worth, $9.99
@mattig88 They’ll try three for $49.99 first.
Tip up carry. No thanks.
OMG, it’s a stabby knife! It’s been quite a while, but still not interested. We’re a Swiss Army Knife family and we’re still pissed at Napoleon…
“The names Thero.”

@BethanyAnne I didn’t know about either brand. Thanks.
I prefer the Microtech HALO, but they are just a tad more pricey.
@sl_woodard The $500 version, or the $1100 one?
Someone has to say it. If you’re “Ballsy” enough, this is an alternative to the SideDeal.
“Ballsy B2 Balls & Body Trimmer for Men”
@blaineg
If you’re not really skillful, couldn’t you end up … less ballsy?
Does Skiff make bearings for this model? Are the bearings worth the trouble?
