Contigo cups... paint chipping
0So I’ve had one of the handle contigo cups from the first meh sale Contigo handle mugs The paint is chipping off, at first I didn’t mind, but now I’m noticing it’s getting into food when I drink over it (ewww) So I’m looking at stripping it off and trying to give it a brushed look. Anyone had any success for this and want to give me any pointers?

No but i used some spray enamel on one and it sealed the chips back in.

The paint was coming off all my old contigo mugs, but it never bothered me. Loved them, but not as much as my zojirushi, which keeps things hot forever. Biggest problem with that is burning my tongue hours after I make my tea.
I used a Dremel and (Dremel-sized, of course) wire brush, and got mine cleaned up in about half an hour. If you use brass, it shouldn’t leave any marks.
![the one on the left was originally painted black.][1]
Marks near the bottom are from car cup holder

@curtw4 I Was hoping to give it a brushed less polished look, I do have a dremel… about 1/3 of the paint is left on my mug… I think I may have linked the wrong sale (or perhaps it was an older style mug I had with a newer top… ) as mine is blue.
@sohmageek in person, it really does look brushed. It’s not at all a high gloss finish
