@mbills2223 Man, I fucking hate checking my phone vs. glancing at my wrist. I get that this is a solution for many people, but really… I don't get it. Can't fathom it. Hate it so much. Honestly if I know I'm in range of a bell tower, even a watch is too much. A phone? I'd rather chop my nethers off.
@MehAmphetamine Really, though? It's an incredible waste of time, checking your phone every 10 minutes. It should be a tool you use when you need it, not your personal companion.
@TerriblyHuang Unfortunately, my wrist is quite delicate so neither if these will fit. Otherwise, damn sure I would! I've been sticking it to The Man since I was just a wee'un.
@andrewpatrick it sounds like you might be the target audience for this. I'm definitely not. Good watch at a good price... for someone who would wear it. Not surprised they sold out.
I will not bite, but good deal. Especially for an eco-drive. My wife will admit that I own too many watches but the eco-drive is one of my favorites. Being light driven (perhaps by a warp core) this is the watch I can always just pick up and it still shows the correct time, everytime.
I can't speak to these particular Eco-drive watches because they aren't my style. But I have an Eco-drive, and it's over 10 years old now and still looks good, going strong. If you wear a watch, and like the look of either of these, this is a pretty great deal. I'm not even going to click the Meh button on this one.
This is a fantastic deal on the blue watch, but I have learned from experience that a 42mm case is bigger than I like. The black one isn't really my style. Oh well.
FWIW, if Meh could lay their hands on a supply of Seiko 5s and similar cheap automatics, they'd never have to sell a knife again.....
Especially since what I really wanted was a scuba citizens watch (my dad had one of the firsts with the depth sensor and everything and I would constantly spin the outer ring for the clicky noise. He always chastised me for it and told me it'll run out of clicks).
Everybody is dumping watches... gotta make room in the inventory for the new Tech watches... oh, my bad, Apple watches because as we all know apple invents all new technology.
No thanks... I'll keep grabbing my phone to check the time and use the leather thing in my pocket to hang onto my money. Watches are so overrated.
If I did need to look at my wrist for the time? Definately this deal over some way too high priced piece of cheese from crapple. lol
@wew As as he was waiting for me to sing that chourus, he looked into those big blue eyes of mine, and I looked at his big brown eyes and I said "meh..........pretty spooky, scarey isn't it?
I've had an eco-drive for ages, specifically the Skyhawk AT Titanium and I love it. Ended up getting the blue dial one just now to have a backup watch.
@meh, somone messed up on the photos. You're supposed to take the photo at 10:10 or 2:50. This way the face is smiling. Look at any professional watch photo. You're welcome.
1) Yes, sometimes 2-3 at a time. 2) Yes, but only one at a time. 3) Only when I go to church. 4) Only when I forget my phone on the charger. 5) Isn't that something Grandpa wears?
@RedOak Thanks! Trying to figure this one out, it seems we had one set up but yeah, it didn't show up. It's pretty similar to yours so...uh...I vote #2.
@dave I'm in the 2) category as well. But 1) on your survey - it is going to be confusing once that Meta smart watch you folks sold me shows up since I don't want to be in the 1) category on my survey.
Damn, the round-shaped blue dial is already sold-out. That's the one I would've almost certainly splurged on had I checked on time tonight... probably for the best. I'm not rich right now and I have enough watches.
I am assuming this watch is made in China , like most watches. It's so funny to me that the retail prices on all watches is so high, yet no one ever sells them for even close to the those retail prices. Like ever. I don't wear a watch so meh.
@mick might be the case, but don't assume. I paid 10 bucks for a basic analog "dive"-style Casio about a year ago so I wouldn't have to worry about it when working in the shop, etc... The movement is made in Japan and while I suspect the other parts are from elsewhere, Amazon claims "made in USA". Casio MRW200H-4BV.
Watch-related question here. Why do watches have fancy names for their parts? Oh, it's not a knob, it's a crown. All those doodads on the face? Complications. The internal thing that makes the watch keep time? A movement. My best guess is that since watches are often for rich people, watch-makers invented fancy words so as to make them sound more exclusive.
@lljk watches used to be one of the most complicated, intricate things man could make. So naturally they had to make it all sciencie sounding. And the Brits had a lot to do with it i suspect.
I've wanted one of these for a long time but couldn't stomach the cost. I've got a $65 Gshock that's solar and automatically sets the time every night. Thus more accurate with the same tech as this. Plus i have two skeleton automatic mechanical watches for those days/nights I have to dress up in my cargo pants.
Maybe a good Sieko or Citizen will be my retirement gift to myself in twenty years.
Oh yes and rich people were all that could afford early watches. So they were marketed like diamond jewelry.
Argh! I'm superpissed right now! The ONE day I don't check Meh right at 11pm C and bam! A product I've wanted for 5 years pops up! If anyone bought a few and is willing to sell one, please contact me. Really regret missing this one and would love to pick one up.
@sidewinder3000 I ordered one of the black ones if you're interested. I was on the fence - when I receive it, if I don't like it, I can sell it to you for whatever I paid + shipping to you (or if you're in NYC, even easier). Feel free to ping me after they ship it. (Does anyone still say "ping"?)
@hammi99@hammi99 Thanks, hammi99. I should have specified that I was looking for a blue one. I actually think the black one looks nicer in the wrist photo than it does in the standalone shot, but I've been wanting one of those big dial watches like the blue one for years. Thanks for offering.
For anyone looking to re-size one of the blue faced watches be careful. Apparently titanium watches have a center locking tube which is extremely small. If your not expecting it it's really easy to lose.
@Tom223 Found that locking tube by accident! Never seen one before. It is REALLY small. I have great vision and was still lucky to spot it on the desk. It's basically a spacer that fits in only one of the 4 holes each pin has to go through. When you remove a pin it will fall out. When you are replacing a pin, find the hole that is slightly wider than the rest and that is the one it slides in. Then line up and push the pin back in as normal.

Holy shit...Great deal! But I have a phone to tell me what time it is so meh
@brhfl Internet luddite, for whom the bell tolls.
@MehAmphetamine According to @brhfl, I'd be for whom the balls toll.
@MehAmphetamine Really, though? It's an incredible waste of time, checking your phone every 10 minutes. It should be a tool you use when you need it, not your personal companion.
@andrewpatrick... As opposed to checking your watch every ten minutes? I fail to see much of a difference at all.
@andrewpatrick... As opposed to checking your watch every ten minutes? I fail to see much of a difference at all.
I just bought a smartwatch from you guys, so that makes this a dumbwatch. Meh.
Why would you think that anyone would buy this piece of crap?
@Clark These aren't the most attractive eco-drives, but… it's a great movement, reliable, maintenance-free. Solid.
@Clark Selling crap that someone else thought no one wanted is pretty much their game, no?
That's an ugly a** eco-drive.
Does this work with my iphone?
@thismyusername It works at the same time as your iPhone.
@TheCO2 so the answer would be yes.
Next Time I might bite at this one, just not this Time around.
People still wear watches?
@TheCO2 Yep.
@Barney that is some purple bling right there.
@thismyusername It complements my glasses.
@Barney I should have known it would be purple, because....... Wait for it........ Barney loves purple.
Why so sexist, meh? Where are the women's watches, eh?
@meow57 stick it to The Man by buying and wearing one of these
@TerriblyHuang Unfortunately, my wrist is quite delicate so neither if these will fit. Otherwise, damn sure I would! I've been sticking it to The Man since I was just a wee'un.
Meh doesn't seem to want my money.
@ELUNO Same here...something keeps going terribly wrong?
I have a citizen ecodrive and I love it.
It's not made by apple. Meh. Or another decent smart watch.
I already have a lovely Citizen watch I haven't worn in 5+ years.
Try again, I guess.
@nadroj i have a lovely citizen watch i wear every day. Including right now.
@andrewpatrick it sounds like you might be the target audience for this. I'm definitely not. Good watch at a good price... for someone who would wear it. Not surprised they sold out.
Nothing says "those smart watches we sold you last week suck" quite like selling an old school watch this week.
It's nice to know there are still regular watches out there big enough to make these smartwatches look tiny though.
@jawe I find myself unable to stop laughing.
I will not bite, but good deal. Especially for an eco-drive. My wife will admit that I own too many watches but the eco-drive is one of my favorites. Being light driven (perhaps by a warp core) this is the watch I can always just pick up and it still shows the correct time, everytime.
until you leave it in your sock draw for a week.
@jetkins true, a sock drawer for an extended stay is the devil to an eco-drive. That is why I let mine flourish on top of the dresser.
I feel disappointed somehow...
@Zendriver Agreed, I could not even click it.
I've had a woman's Eco-drive watch for years now. Works great and never need to change a battery. Love it.
Bath.
Kurt Vonnegut is dead?? Have you been keeping this a secret?? Well.....so it goes.
And then you tell me you want to sell me....what is this again?? A watch?? Probably manufactured by NSA....so meh it goes.
@escapecar Oh, who the hell am I kidding. $60 for the black watch? I'm in. operatic-fleecy-cardinal
Does it work with my iphone?
@beachhead no, only with thismyusername's iPhone
Ticklish-icky-knot. Think of it what you will.
Where is the poll? I can't go to sleep until I can answer it.😡
@iloveprater I neeeed my poll.
Men's watch? Seriously?
The black faced one looks like it definitely belongs on a chick (albeit a hefty, not very feminine lady).
@eyewerks Or (gasp!) a man who doesn't succumb to society's bullshit roles and expectations?! Same shit.
@brhfl Looks like the LGBT crowd is weighing in. Think whatever you want, but know that I think that any guy that wears that thing is a serious puff.
According to camel camel camel the blue ones price has been continuously above $300 on Amazon. This seems like a great buy... If you want it.
no.
Just no.
Is the blue one with the little dials "commanding alpha male" big or "look at this dinner plate I'm tied to" big?
it's 42mm big. :P
Ugh I can't believe I
ocular-immense-pipe

"Does anybody really know what time it is?
Does anybody really care? "
@wew about time...
Actually, the accepted most aesthetically appealing position is 10:08:42.
@brianmc1975 i never mess up
Is the blue sold out already? I can't select it. Booo!
@callahan Can't believe I missed this one too, bummer :(
Eco drive
@brianmc1975 (rocks).
No survey today? (As of 30 minutes in.)
Do you wear a watch?
1) Yes, sometimes 2-3 at a time.
2) Yes, but only one at a time.
3) Only when I go to church.
4) Only when I forget my phone on the charger.
5) Isn't that something Grandpa wears?
@RedOak - 6) Something else that will wind up in the comments.
@KDemo good point.
@RedOak Ooh ooh, we've got an actual official poll now!
case diameter 43mm, band width 23mm, water resistance 100m, sappaire crystal glass, titanium, etc.
Damn, the round-shaped blue dial is already sold-out. That's the one I would've almost certainly splurged on had I checked on time tonight... probably for the best. I'm not rich right now and I have enough watches.
...after a total of only 147 sold. Oh well, that saved me a bunch of buyer's angst.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Wristwatch&defid=1731882
The good one is sold out already, meh.
Black one is fugly, sad the blue one is gone already.
Too large and not my style. But I have a black-on-black Citizen Eco-drive Stiletto, and I love it to death. Great tech.
Sorry, but Lance is a sociopathic drug addicted asshole, not psychotic. There's a difference!
Tempting, just as well it sold out though. Saves me from exerting the willpower :).
If the Apple watch drives down the price of decent non-luxury mechanical watches, that's fine by me.
Look at the flicka da wrist
hey guys, the good one is sold out.
the other one is hella ugly.
just so you know
I was too slow...or there were only 10 of the blue dial... lol
watches that no smart
I refuse to shackle myself in symbolic bondage to the artificial construct of time!
I am assuming this watch is made in China , like most watches. It's so funny to me that the retail prices on all watches is so high, yet no one ever sells them for even close to the those retail prices. Like ever. I don't wear a watch so meh.

Just waking up How much were they before the deal went away?
@kkremser $30 for the black one, $90 for the blue one.
@lljk $60 for the black one
Dammit, every time there's something good on here all the PST people snap it up before I even wake up in the morning.

Said the East Coast
Has anyone had their order ship yet?
@Tom223 Yep.
@Tom223 They have shipped. https://meh.com/orders to view your tracking number.
Got mine today! Thanks Meh it looks great!
For anyone looking to re-size one of the blue faced watches be careful. Apparently titanium watches have a center locking tube which is extremely small. If your not expecting it it's really easy to lose.
There's nothing in the manual about re-sizing the watch but citizen has a web guide on it. http://www.citizenwatch.com/en-us/files/2012/08/pin1tube.pdf
@Tom223 Got mine as well. Looks better in person than in the photos.
@Tom223 Found that locking tube by accident! Never seen one before. It is REALLY small. I have great vision and was still lucky to spot it on the desk. I think I got the wrong manual in my box. It's for some fancy radio controlled watch. Model No. BY0*** / Cal. No. H61
