@MehnofLaMehncha@matthew And since we're adapting the word 'helicopter,' and not its roots… that is, we're talking about four rotating wings, not merely four wings… well, quadcopter seems just about perfect.
@stoopkid I got the Camera one last time and have been mostly disappointed. It's just way too twitchy to be a good camera platform, and it requires Red Baron level skill to keep it from wandering around constantly.
@justinjones41 We have three in the house. That's enough that when we start playing with them, we can always have one in the air while another is charging and the third is having a propeller replaced. (Pro tip: get lots of extra propellers. They're inexpensive and you'll need them).
@CraigDanger I have bought 6, all for gifts (3 in my house alone) and all are still alive and functioning fairly well. In for 3 more, makes great gifts for the bajillion kid birthday parties we get invited to!
As always, meh for no mention of mediocre's redheaded stepchild, drone.horse. (Seriously, Meh, if you're not gonna take care of your babies, keep it in your pants!)
And because it flies, this deal is @ruouttaurmind approved.
Camera Quad - Decent video quality, ten minute charge time, two minute flight time (doesn't matter if you are recording or not)
Non-Camera Quad - Twenty minute charge time, seven minute flight time, slightly easier to fly
You can buy replacement blades from eBay for very cheap. I think I got forty blades for $5 shipped. I own both versions, given several away, and plan on buying a couple more. They're sturdy too! I've cut the power from ten feet up and crashed it onto a hardwood floor several times without issue.
@matthew Made with real squirrel tail! A #3 yellow tail, silver blade Mepps in-line spinner is the only bass lure you need. So effective, my bros called it my "cheat lure".
I think I've killed three of these so far. 1 melted a motor mount, 1 got wet and became unstable and chaotic in flight, and 1 just stopped taking a charge. With 2 more NIB unused, I'm going to have to say meh.
@p3dal I've pretty much had to re-solder one motor on every CX-10 I've owned, and out of 5 I've had one battery pack go bad, so now I'm just Frankensteining them back to functioning.
@jihiggs Me too. I bought one for my father-in-law for Christmas. He liked it so much my mother-in-law decided to buy some for the grandkids. I told her about Quadcopter Monday and wouldn't you know it, meh stopped selling them on Monday's. Now I get to tell her they got them again. She'll be stoked.
@LordJohnWhorfin You're right. We should probably fire the employee we hired in California to help us expand our business so that we won't have to charge CA tax anymore. Losing far too many customers over it.
These are a lot of fun and pretty easy to fly once you get the hang of it. A lot better than my other small quadcopter. Inlaws got a kick out of mine at Christmas, so I'm in for 3 to give as gifts.
The SD card I got with mine doesn't seem to be able to keep up, it started dropping frames after a few minutes. Still quite fun. Waiting for $300 Phantom 3, now, I've got faith in you meh.
I bought the one with the camera and USB thingy a few months back. Fly's great and I've broke quite a few propellers chasing the cats around the house (get your self a cheap pack of replacement propellers they be super cheap!) never been able to get the camera to work once. The memory card doesn't properly stay in the copter.
All in all though very happy with the purchase, lots of fun!
@djslack Next time I fire it up I'll retry that, I don't remember if I did or not, it seemed like I tried every angle and the problem I had is I couldn't get it to stay in the copter. If I thought it was in right if I heard a click or not regardless it'll always fling out as soon as it went air born
@djslack Yeah, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that thought it was upside down to make it work. Also, when it's in correctly and "locked" you can hardly see the card and the white LED on top is lit up.
These are cool and so cheap they are almost disposable, but I must wonder, how much do they weigh? Am hoping that they are light enough that you don't need to register with Fn FAA.
These copters are a ton of fun, I've bought close to 15 of them for myself and gifts, still have some hot spares on the shelf. Some tips: 1) If you're new to flying them, buy a set of replacement blades and blade guard: Note: The blade guards only really go on the camera-less one, but make it much easier to fly, and it lands upright most of the time 2) These toys only have a limited lifespan. The tiny batteries only last a few dozen charge cycles, and they are easy to kill. If you are skilled with a soldering iron, you can swap out the battery (but a 5pk of batteries costs as much as a new copter). I kept my first one going through a second battery, resoldering a motor several times, and replacing blades periodically. Finally one of the motor quit. 3) The camera ones shoot decent video (no sound) and are surprisingly stable, but are not as much fun to fly, and a bit heavier. 4) When these lose signal (well over 100 ft high), they fall from the sky. Hope they land on grass or snow. 5) The included SD card and card reader are terribly cheap/generic and not worth the extra premium IMHO 6) If you are flying outdoors, put it in Medium or Hard (2 or 3 beeps) for extra banking ability against the wind.
@caffeineguy Replacement motors are cheap as well and again, if you can solder the battery pack, you can do the motors as well. I think I got a pack of replacement body, prop guard, 20 blades and 2 motors for $4.
Blade guards cause the battery to run down faster, but I agree, for someone just learning, makes flying much easier. Once you get the hang of it, take it off.
And flying over 100ft . . . I have a pretty cool video the other day where I hit max ceiling, it died, fell, but the connection re-established prior to hitting the ground and it flipped with over in time for a softer crash landing.
Bought one for Christmas. It didn't last more than 3-4 hours. One of the motors died. It wasn't due to any crashing, so not sure why. Finally, we never got it to stabilize when trying to fly it after many, many times of messing with the adjustments on the controller.
@huntrm Most likely that motor's wires came lose from the board. A simple solder job if you take it apart and very fixable. I think the guy in China doing that one solder had a bad day, since I've had 5 that I've had to take apart and fix in this way, with only one (the one with a camera . . .) that hasn't had any issue.
@DuggleBogey You probably did the same thing I did the first time, you put the card in backwards and it really wasn't installed correctly. You put the card in upside down from what you'd think. The metal contacts go up and you push it in all the way until it stops. To remove push it in a little more and it pops out some to remove. The lack of instructions are very bad with this model. If the card is in correctly, the little white light on top stays solid. Once you start video, it flashes. You can get a replacement card for cheap.
I bought one as a xmas present and I broke it before the gift recipient got to play with it much at all, so I'm buying another one for him. We've watched several YouTube videos to learn better how to make it actually work. I'm not going to touch his new one this time and let him go for it. The broken one still flies enough to amuse my cat more than anything, so it is fine for that.
Thanks, meh. I was hoping for a gyro copter though that I got on here before. That thing was sweet while it lasted. This will do for now. Niece and nephew will be happy too.
Also hoping for one of those JBL speaker docks soon, now that I got a new iphone.
I got mine this morning. So far i'm not impressed. The tiny rotors are not capable of maintaining a level lift even indoors. The vertical controls seem impossible to maintain a constant 'hover'. I've barely messed with the rotational controls because the thing goes sailing into a wall shortly after takeoff. Also the battery life is a joke. Well under 10 minutes, seriously.
It's debatable whether this thing is worthwhile as a toy. But it seems totally unsuited for anything more.

Meh..... Taking deals to new heights
@larrygrochal
I'm up in the air about this one
Thought we decided last time: Latin roots are helic-opter, not heli-copter. So it's a quad-opter.
Don't think sorry's easily said
Don't try, turnin' tables instead
You've taken lots of chances before
But I ain't gonna give anymore
Don't ask me
That's how it goes
'Cause part of me knows what you're thinkin'
Don't say words you're gonna regret
Don't let the fire rush to your head
I've heard the accusation before
And I ain't gonna take any more
Believe me
The sun in your eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing
(What's the next line? Any guesses?)
@MehnofLaMehncha The word "chocoholic" appears in dictionaries, so we have bigger fish to fry.
@MehnofLaMehncha Actually it's helico-pter (pter meaning "wing", as in pteradactyl)
(Probably Greek, right?)
@MehnofLaMehncha @matthew And since we're adapting the word 'helicopter,' and not its roots… that is, we're talking about four rotating wings, not merely four wings… well, quadcopter seems just about perfect.
O Dog no not again, Meh. How many of these things did you purchase, anyways????
Man, I have so many of these already. Protip: the non-camera ones are better for flying. And my camera model skips constantly.
@stoopkid I got the Camera one last time and have been mostly disappointed. It's just way too twitchy to be a good camera platform, and it requires Red Baron level skill to keep it from wandering around constantly.
Somebody's getting lazy.
You'd think these things would just fly off the shelves...
Got one last time. Works quite well. Getting another!
@justinjones41 We have three in the house. That's enough that when we start playing with them, we can always have one in the air while another is charging and the third is having a propeller replaced. (Pro tip: get lots of extra propellers. They're inexpensive and you'll need them).
This is the real thread.
Aww man! I was hoping there'd be the box for VMP slackers to have another chance at Fukubukuro.
@a13z that shit sold out in like an hour
@jihiggs Less than a minute, actually.
Pretty sure my remote is busted because it won't connect with the copter anymore. Probably won't buy another. Meh
@eyebrows I bought one of these last time around and my remote wouldn't connect either. Nothing but frustration.
I bought a few of these last time. I couldn't master keeping them flying. I sent them to my nephew. He has done better than I with them.
@shortman My same story!
@wew shortman's nephew must be awash in quadcopters.
Déjà meh
I already have 4 of the regulars and 2 with the camera. Please sell something bigger next time.
Also I'm still bitter about missing yesterday's fuku.
@deadlybunny
Next time, need to have a regular item for sale at midnight, and the fuku at 12:05.
These finally came around when I could buy one. Got the camera one for my hubby. Now he can be an amazing-curious-samurai! :)
I've bought three. One quit working after about 5 minutes, the other two waited just a bit longer. I give up.
@CraigDanger Mine quits after 5 minutes also. Then I recharge it.
@mrimdman Wait, what does that mean? Like use your credit card again?
@CraigDanger I have bought 6, all for gifts (3 in my house alone) and all are still alive and functioning fairly well. In for 3 more, makes great gifts for the bajillion kid birthday parties we get invited to!
As always, meh for no mention of mediocre's redheaded stepchild, drone.horse. (Seriously, Meh, if you're not gonna take care of your babies, keep it in your pants!)

@Tin_Foil I must be slow at these things-- after all this time, I didn't realize it did video too.
And yet, for some reason, you were humming the Alan Parsons Project, and you weren't sure why.
@MehnofLaMehncha I like that song. Now you have me humming it...
"I am the eye in the sky; Looking at you; I can read your mind..."
@Tin_Foil Aah! The song... the video... Gave in.
extravagant-satisfied-name
Cheaper than buying spare parts for the ones I got last time! 😉😎
I want that Meh. hat (from the video). It would be so Meh to have one to add to my Meh. clothing items collection.
Actually, I'd just wear it, get it all sweat-stained in the sun and wear it out pretty quickly, like I usually do with hats.
... Still want it though.
@WaltC (talking to myself...) I looked closer, bigger window, all that-- Turns out that's not a Meh. hat.
Maybe a blank hat & a Meh magic marker...
@WaltC
@matthew Made with real squirrel tail! A #3 yellow tail, silver blade Mepps in-line spinner is the only bass lure you need. So effective, my bros called it my "cheat lure".
@matthew Yep, the logo sure lured me in.
Thanks!
That would certainly be fishy if the masters of Meh had cool Meh hats & we didn't!
@matthew Ah, Mepps! My favorite lure! Many Northern Pike and Muskies went after a #5!
A quadcopter repeat is like rubbing salt in a wound for those of us unable to acquire the coveted Fuku yesterday. sigh
Hmmm... Since I got a Fuku I said I would only say nice things about Meh for the next few days, so here goes:
These are a ton of fun for a nonspecific period of time, and totally build your quadcopter skills since they are amazingly challenging!!!
Go with the lightweight ones, not the camera, but not too many of them...
Have fun!!!
On the plus side, you don't have to register these with the FAA
Fuku followed by more damn quadcopters... classic Meh power move.
You must be kidding
The day after a fuku you sell these? Does your warehouse need a day off? To many fuku boxes to pack?
Here's a night video I took using the CX-10C with SD card.
Still no use for one of these. Still not gonna buy one. You're trying too hard, meh. You got no chill.
Honestly, I am over this flying shit... Donate some of this left over crap to GoodWill or something...
Already have one of each. Very durable as long as you crash on soft surfaces. Fun to take outside at night.
all these grumps being pissed about these again, ive been waiting weeks for them to show up again
These little guys are the most fun you can have for $15 without unzipping your pants. outspoken-sharp-toucan
Tax in CA now? Thanks Meh, it was fun while it lasted.
@LordJohnWhorfin You're right. We should probably fire the employee we hired in California to help us expand our business so that we won't have to charge CA tax anymore. Losing far too many customers over it.
@MEHcus While your at it fire all of your Texas people too!!!
@caffeine_dude Yeah those guys suck
These are a lot of fun and pretty easy to fly once you get the hang of it. A lot better than my other small quadcopter. Inlaws got a kick out of mine at Christmas, so I'm in for 3 to give as gifts.
I bought the camera and card reader model for my son for a Christmas Gift. It flew for 30 seconds and has not worked since. Save your money.
@somf69 Send it to me, i'll take it. They are easy to fix.
@GarbyRator will you send it back ??? my son want to fly it and record stuff around our property
The SD card I got with mine doesn't seem to be able to keep up, it started dropping frames after a few minutes. Still quite fun. Waiting for $300 Phantom 3, now, I've got faith in you meh.
@Jetlag In for one P3 @ $300! :-)
I bought the one with the camera and USB thingy a few months back. The memory card doesn't properly stay in the copter.
All in all though very happy with the purchase, lots of fun!
@Chaedog put the memory card in "upside down" with the contacts showing at the top.
@djslack Next time I fire it up I'll retry that, I don't remember if I did or not, it seemed like I tried every angle and the problem I had is I couldn't get it to stay in the copter. If I thought it was in right if I heard a click or not regardless it'll always fling out as soon as it went air born

These are cool and so cheap they are almost disposable, but I must wonder, how much do they weigh? Am hoping that they are light enough that you don't need to register with Fn FAA.
@ZombieWrangler They weigh a LOT less than the half a pound required to register.
These copters are a ton of fun, I've bought close to 15 of them for myself and gifts, still have some hot spares on the shelf. Some tips:
1) If you're new to flying them, buy a set of replacement blades and blade guard: Note: The blade guards only really go on the camera-less one, but make it much easier to fly, and it lands upright most of the time

Fair warning, the two CX-10s I bought in November for Christmas presents didn't survive until the 27th.
I feel like with the money I've spent on mini quadcopters, I should of just bought the Inspire 1 instead.
@MrMark I hear ya. I feel like with the money I've spent on drones of all varieties I should have just bought a Sikorsky instead!
Bought one for Christmas. It didn't last more than 3-4 hours. One of the motors died. It wasn't due to any crashing, so not sure why. Finally, we never got it to stabilize when trying to fly it after many, many times of messing with the adjustments on the controller.
Avoid or pay only $5.00 for one.
Bought one for xmas. The camera never worked. On the first crash the SD card flew out and was never seen again. Don't buy the one with the camera.
@DuggleBogey I've crashed my camera one many times. SD card did come loose once, but didn't pop all the way out. Maybe a piece of tape over it?
@DuggleBogey You probably did the same thing I did the first time, you put the card in backwards and it really wasn't installed correctly. You put the card in upside down from what you'd think. The metal contacts go up and you push it in all the way until it stops. To remove push it in a little more and it pops out some to remove. The lack of instructions are very bad with this model. @GarbyRator Thanks, I'll get a new card and try it.
lol plz dont post junk for sale meh.
@xEBRONx That was yesterday, and all kind of people were upset about not getting any. I'd say junk might be their most successful items.
These, however, are definitely not junk.
NO
@Preedom YES
gigantic-slow-lice
I yield. permissive-grody-sea
lol the boy just talked about wanting one of these yesterday :D

Rebuilding my quadcopter fleet. The first two I purchased when they were last offered sacrificed themselves so that I could learn how to fly...
determined-brief-acoustic
i always think of cheese when these pop up for sale.
i just hope meh sells these in perpetuity. so when i want another one in a year or two they pop up again.
If I liked these things as much as you Mehmonites, I would keep them.
Trying to creep on the neighbors, but it was too windy... Next time, neighbors. Next time...
Thanks, meh. I was hoping for a gyro copter though that I got on here before. That thing was sweet while it lasted. This will do for now. Niece and nephew will be happy too.
Also hoping for one of those JBL speaker docks soon, now that I got a new iphone.
Oops, forgot...
secretive-finished-duck
got my orange one today....time to play.
Is Cheerson CX-10W same as cheerson cx-10c?
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2577881
@fumij I think the 10W has a higher res camera and wifi....
http://www.cheersonhobby.com/productShow.asp?id=3665
Kinda hope meh gets some (and prices them right), realtime video is a cool feature for such a tiny quad...
